Post your stick bro
why would you play on a banned stick
that's not a stick bro...
Pro 4 Kai blue
here bro
Are those 24's on the right?
...
Kill yourself newfag
These aren't sticks
>WASD layout
It's a lot easier the hitbox way desu
What's a tournament ready stick?
I want this but unironically. Not paying $250 for it though
>The poor spacing on the top left buttons
>They are also slightly crooked
Measure twice
Cut once
Why would you want a tetris T for your directions, having UP placed that way makes any motions involving up way harder than it needs to be.
using my thumb or moving my hand to press the button below just doesn't sit well with me
same
>what is personal preference?
The same reason some people use sticks and others use pads I would assume. It just feels right for me
Well suit yourselves I guess. Personally I can't go back to wasd to me it's worse in every way. Tiger knees, flash kicks, 360s are so much easier by sliding the buttons desu.
yeah bro and 30 in the middle
Are you a small hands user? Does it work well? Asking for a friend. I'm that friend
I have a Qanba myself. It's been good to me so far and I hope I won't have to fix or replace it for a while.
not user but im pretty sure most if not all hitboxes use 24s
Because I am too poor to afford a decent stick and its all I've got.
...
Not him but it's standard hitbox layout to use 24mm buttons and a 30mm for up. Makes the up button more accessible with everything closer together.
How did Juri turn the most fail of martial arts into lewd??
controller >> stick
...
T6 sure had some shitty promo renders... why were they so particularly awful?
why not both?
I kind of want a Smashbox. Not for Melee, but for other fightan. You can assign a jump button like on the Hitbox, plus you get a lot of customization options for all kinds of games.
I think it would feel pretty rad to play arcade games with it. A keyboard doesn't feel the same.
...
Why would you want to contort your fingers on a tiny 6 buttons pad made for ants
Somebody make a loss edit out of this, quick
The list is pretty accurate.
Let me guess, hrap 4 user?
be the change you want to see in the world
>blankaex
ewww
So how are the ergonomics of these things?
Keyboard is unironically the best controller for anything that doesn't require spinning or chickenwings. The traditional SRK is like rolling your fatfingers over the keys so it can be super fast.
>Keyboard is unironically the best controller
>the best controller if you ignore the parts its bad at :)
Why? Play on your keyboard if you like using keys. What's the reasoning to buy that shit?
plink, piano, sliding, double tapping arcade buttons is much much easier than keys on a keyboard.
>best controller FOR anything that doesn't include X
Yes its a perfectly valid statement. Spin characters obviously need a stick to do well. For many characters who only do 180s at most, keys are fastest and potentially also the quietest, especially when it comes to footsies. Now if only you could bring it to a tournament so that the robotic super players can't hear your stick movements and buffering.
A hitbox is better than a keyboard at literally anything
Why is banned
...
What's a tournament mode stick?
A stick that has a way to disable the start button so you don't get DQ by accidentally hitting it in the match
Couldn't they just put a simple glass cover over it, like military careful-with-this-red-button setups?
I see, the Etokki one really needs it.
Then why not play on a hitbox for all those advantages for your attack buttons and directional buttons?
I just don't understand the point of a mixbox. It's like give me something that's a keyboard, but not really, and is an arcade stick, but not really, all for 250 USDs, thanks.
...
My quanba has a lock switch for it
For keyboard users who can't be arsed learning the hitbox, but yeah 250$ for the only difference being arcade buttons is a dumb purchase.
Where can i buy seimitsu joysticks?
That switch looks like it can be accidentally fumbled. I still stand by my glass or plastic cover solution. It should be a fucking easy DIY mod too if the start button isn't retardedly close to anything else.
It's both small and pretty resistant and very out of the way. It's pretty much impossible to accidentally put it on.
I use focusattack.com. I'm not sure if they ship outside of the US, in case that's a problem.
Almost everything about this chart is dumb.
>Almost everything about this chart is dumb.
Explain
I bought a RAP4 so I could learn it casually. It’s my first stick and I’m really starting to get into it. Can def tell the games were meant for these.
except typing
>I just don't understand the point of a mixbox. It's like give me something that's a keyboard, but not really, and is an arcade stick, but not really, all for 250 USDs, thanks.
What's not to get? That's exactly what I want excluding the $250 part which I said I'm not willing to pay. Sticks, pads, mix/hitboxes are all about preference anyway. It's what works best for you.
Sticks like the RAP4 are endgame. People that tell otherwise are idiots. I own about 10 sticks and they are all so similar it is pathetic. If I wasn't getting them for so cheap I wouldn't have went past 4.
So it was a good purchase, then? It definitely /feels/ pretty good so far, but as I said I don’t have much to compare to.
>Friends got into GGXrd a couple of months ago
>The extent of their "fighting" game experience before was Melee
>They all got fightsticks for GG
>Ask them why they did that
>"It's objectively better to use them"
Do fightsticks make a legitimate difference or are they trying to rationalize blindly following "what the pros do".
I can understand the argument of using a fightstick if you've spent a lot of time playing fighters at arcades, but this is literally their first traditional fighting game.
objectively, whatever you're used to is better. i play GGXrd with a keyboard and it's what i'm comfortable with
maybe your friends got the sticks for the "authentic arcade fightan" feel?
Hori's Hayabusa Type N stick has a dramatic button cover you slide over the start button.
They spin it like they'd be at a considerable disadvantage if they used a controller instead which is what rustles my jimmies.
>Do fightsticks make a legitimate difference or are they trying to rationalize blindly following "what the pros do".
I use one and love it personally but it's all just preference at the end of the day. We didn't have arcades here so I always played fighting games with controllers growing up. When I decided to get serious at learning fighting games I tried a stick and loved it. It felt right for me immediately. That doesn't mean this will be true for everyone
If it's their first fighting game they won't have any muscle memory to unlearn so if they were every interested in arcade sticks that was the perfect time to use one. Guilty gear is a 5 button fighter so I imagine it's pretty awkward with a pad. Option selects which are heavily used especially with the throw are probably way more awkward on a pad too.
Also to add, personally I always had trouble IAD to the right the fastest (lowest height) and in a clean manner so I switched to hitbox and my execution became much better
What a garbage list. There's no actual reasoning behind anything on it.
It lacks the WASD on the right. I'd buy it then.
Inputting on a D-Pad feels like shit to me and many controllers have abysmal ones in the first place. There are some wizards that use the sticks but with how floaty they are, I don't thinks its worth the hassle.
my faitfull fighting edge.
Custom switch with silencer.
Harder spring.
Home made octo restrictor.
Modded shaft for smaller dead zone.
Custom handle dust cover and shaft cover.
I am working on a dedicated 4 buttons stick for under night based on a spare hori EX2 because I am enjoying the game too much.
I in a similar boat and I'm trying to decide between going with stick or hitbox. I heard sticks fuck with your wrists and I'm already strained work-wise, so I'd like to avoid shit that fucks with them even more.
>fighting game experience
>melee
There isn't really an advantage to using stick over pad or keyboard, just personal preference. I prefer keyboard since it makes inputs that aren't 360/720s easier.
>Obsidian
>great build quality
It's a slick-looking stick but the screws permanently de-thread the screw holes if you open it too many times. The bottom is all cheap plastic.
The ''i only play shotos'' machine
It's nit-picky and very subjective. The arcade stick market is so stagnant right now you could just make three tiers based on price and call it at that.
Best stick under $100 is the quanba drone. Best one in the $100-$200 range is the RAP4 kai (don't pay more than $150 for something without Sanwa or Semitsu parts). Best sticks in the $200 range are the quanba obsidian, razer panthera, and etokki omni. Don't pay more than $200-ish for an arcade stick unless it's some collectable gimmick thing like the Hori VLX.
Hori parts are fine now though.
...
I agree, but given the option of spending $200 for something with Sanwa parts versus spending $200 for something without Sanwa parts, the choice is pretty simple. I guess it's personal preference though.
I would much rather have Hayabusa parts, especially the buttons. I swap out Sanwa immediately on anything I pick up.
This list is done by a moron (normal for a retard who play devil jin)
I can build a full 8 buttons sanwa with usb/playstation pcb included and Hori EX look like with easy customized art for less than 100 euros.
And don't let me begin with the rest of the garbage bullshit this chart include.
I spent so much time playing keyboard on street fighter online and mugen that I would not mind that in the slightest
If you want a 10 dollar pcb that doesn't support ps4 sure go ahead
There's absolutely nothing wrong with Hori parts if you don't mind the feel of the buttons, they bottom out earlier and are more durable then sanwas.
I just bought the Qanba Carbon on Amazon for $50, then bought my preferred stick and buttons from FA. Stick came out to $100 all in all and it's the colors/buttons that I like. Have no idea why anyone woukd spend >$150 on a stick. I guess that's my preference though, since I don't really like to have a triple wide heavy metal frame stick resting on my thighs. Seriously my roommate has the Obsidian and it's just so mcfuckhuge big and heavy compared to my dinky plastic one.
I prefer the fightpad for fighting games so I use my stick only for shmup and 2D beat 'em up.
Exactly. It's especially noticeable if you use a light touch or play other genres besides fightans.
it support PC also.
>What is legacy.
Tekken SFV KOF GG and even Under night support them.
Every shmup I have on PS4 until now support PS3 joystick too. (Battle garega Darius burst caldarius) Ulia is know around here for the quality of his frame.
I posted my good old fighting edge And indeed hori part are really good. the button are amazing be it for fighters or shmups.
Some people complain about the hayabusa but even out of the box it have similar feeling and DZ as a JLF but less clicky.
I would recommend a spring mod cause I found it lighter first.
what"s inside this ? zippy ?
There's a lot of space inside the stick, at first it was for the MK9 box.
a bat type stick seems pretty uncomfortable for a shmup, any reason you don't use a ball?
A ball is more accurate but I really like the "American Arcade" feeling of the bat stick.
Not him but bat top is great for that genre. I prefer a Korean stick to biggu American stick for shmups though.
>hori parts
?
At the end of the day no. I just arcade sticks because because doing motions using my wrists is more comfortable for me then using my thumbs. Use whatever you enjoy using.
I would not use that for shmups but some euro stick are amazingly good for the genre. smallest dead zone and hard spring.
and same I don't use Bat top for shmup I would recommend shorter shaft and an LB45 handle for shmups. they are bigger than standard one.
on what basis ?
chart is garbage
