>game punishes you for choosing the hardest difficulty

>game punishes you for choosing any difficulty

name three (3) [III] games that does that

>furi
>persona 5
>cuphead

Ren and Stimpy for SNES
Tiny Toons Adventures for SNES
Kingdom Hearts games kinda (harder to get the true ending)

Touhou 6 - Doesn't allow you to see the final boss, Touhou 5 also nets the bad ending for any easy playthroughs. 15 does this accidentally through it's game-play mechanics.
Terraria - Locked content, including a sixth accessory (side gear) slot
Binding of Isaac - Items are locked behind hardmode clears

>Terraria - Locked content, including a sixth accessory (side gear) slot
To be fair, that's less a punishment for playing on the lowest difficulty and more of a bonus for playing on the highest, considering expert mode did not exist for a majority of the game's lifetime.

>game punishes you for booting up the game

>the punishment is that the game is bad

...

Castlevania on the n64 straight up just ends halfway through it and tells you to play on normal for the full game.

Castlevania 64 would end the game at the elevator and tell you to "play the game in Normal mode to find out the true ending!!"

>game punishes you for reloading a save

...

Zatch Bell wouldn't let you play the full story mode on easy or normal

>game punishes you for resetting

>game openly mocks you for choosing the easiest difficulty

>game rewards your for picking the hardest difficulty

Furi does this

Lol

>p5

wat.

Castelvania 54 i think...

Is that a chinese knock off game?

No, that'd be FortressTism 64.

>Play game on Normal
>out of bounds NPC you can't reach.
>play the game on Easy.
>the NPC out of bounds comes and fucks your shit up.

>play game on Hard
>you know an enemy is just around the corner so you prepare to sneakily take him out
>he isn't there
>he was moved to a tiny little alcove that you can't see and fucks your shit up the moment you cross his line of sight

>Game has a hard mode
>Has a mode with an unkillable enemy that chases you around, if you attack it you die
>Has a super realism mode
>Has a mode where all the enemies are invisible

I remember being shit at Alien Hominid for GC and picking the babby mode which gave you like 99 lives. It prevents you from getting out of the city levels, you have to play on at least normal to experience the entire game.

>playing FPS game on easy because friends can't handle hardest difficulty settings
>enemies are weaker, have less HP but also considerably slower
>so slow that it completely fucks up your aim and your rythm

>game rewards you for choosing the lowest difficulty by giving you a cutie bow or ribbon

Oh shit, so if I walk about super slow and aim really shit, I'll win at cod?

you're just shit pal.

More like
>Game incentivizes you to play on harder mode by hiding some of stuff in what is beginner, introductory mode made for people to learn game's systems and behavior in safe-ish, less punishing environment.

But surely, think it's punishment, because everything there is to a game has to be presented right here on the platter.

>Can save whenever you want
>Game labels you based on how many times you've saved (e.g. Warrior, Coward)

>Game has more levels on higher difficulties
>You don't even get the final boss on easy mode
