what the fuck user
y'all excited for the Arctic DLC?
>best part of the game (sound design) will be lacking in the expac
Ehh...
lets just hope the soundfag did some work on the Arctic biome
or at least find someone that is as good at sound design
I don't mind waiting for a while, since it will give me a reason to play from the beginning again
What even is this game?
I can't even tell.
Is it a strategy? Something like minecraft? Not even memeing here, I have no fucking clue.
it's like singleplayer rust but underwater and fun
it's a cozy survival game with scary stuff sprinkled in.
Ok then friends, I'll pirate it and check it out.
any theories on what this rune in the quarantine enforcement platform means?
Remember DEPTH threads?
It's an underwater survival with crafting, eatign and building. But it has missions and interesting plot too.
Depth and Monster threads were great
>tfw the modder that was working on adding one of the concept subs into the game abandoned the project.
Any news if there's gonna be new vehicles in the DLC? I'd expect some icebreaker sub or something
...
Def not the best part of the game, but ok
the butthurt babies who go crazy over easy sound design will always annoy me. Hollow knight had better sound design in its weapons alone than this entire game, but people champion this game cause the race supremacist got fired
I think my world's going to run out of titanium before I finish this.
...
I wish the depths were more like this, with stronger horror elements. The only creepy creatures in the game are the octopus assholes and the ghost leviathans, and by the time you get the prawn they basically suck your dick anyway. Imagine that part in SOMA at the bottom of the ocean but with Subnautica, and creatures that wreck your prawn like a tin can.
I see what you mean, I think having the hardcore mode made them choose not to have something that oneshots you even after you invest in vehicles and upgrades. I only died once to a bug during my playthrough, but had a great expierience overall thanks to the atmosphere and exploration and I don't mind getting strong after I invested a certain amount of time.
TFW You have to build up the cyclopes to get through the magma zone.
La Pérdida..
...
Is it my impression or is the Cyclops pretty much useless? I've built one to go to the Lava Zone but it seems such a pain in the ass to navigate down there I just gave up on it and went with the Prawn Suit alone, which was pretty fine to be honest.
>supporting an sjw game where you play as a big lipped nigger
nu-Sup Forums everyone
oh shit, school shooter spotted
I found it useful, but not as much as it could have been due to difficulties in navigating tight spaces. I only brought mine to the entrance of the lost river. Mostly it's nice to have tons of portable storage and sustenance, and it's a rather cool design that I found fun to play with.
I underestimated how much hull enforcement is neccessary to build a big base at this depth, but I'm still glad it was possible
bretty nice
...
>people who build their bases in safe shallows
el goblino...
>hollow knight had better sound design in its weapons alone
want to know how I know you're full of shit?
oh jesus when did they give the player a face? its been too long since I last played this.
>are we Underwater Space Spics now?
It's the alien space ship shift pattern
dios mio.....
The picture is from one of the trailers, you pretty much never see yourself ingame and it has no real relevance, but apparently it's a shitposters favourite topic
el hombreguesa....
They tried to create everyone, I see a little Filipino in there even
>QUE ESTA DE ERRADO CON SU CABEZA
This is the future of America
Lel
have fun!
I thought that too
It'll depend.
If they go full (((Diversity))) for the main character, I probably won't be able to enjoy it.
La creatura...
Cyclops is there to fill up with lockers and carry back all the resources your prawn drills up.
la bestia,,,,,,,,,,,,,
How would it even work?
what the fuck does it matter? in mario, you play as a fat italian midget plumber, but the game is still fun
It doesn't seem like you'll need that many resources anyway, I think I went once to lava zone to get Kyanite, got my character inventory full of it and went back, then I built everything that uses Kyanite including the rocket, my locker is still full of Kyanite. Hoarding resources other than Titanium and Quartz seems pretty dumb.
But you do see the abhorrent hair in your shadow.
There's a reason games where you play as black characters like Donkey Kong do worse than ones where you play as white characters.
Pretty much. The Seamoth when fully upgraded to the 900m max depth pretty much renders the cyclops largely useless.
la creatura
I don't know why people say this game is hard, surely it's scary at times but it's hard to die unless you're dumb with oxygen management, leviathans (any class) are a literal non issue, I had a Sea Dragon biting me in the Prawn when I was going to the Primary Facility and I took like 30 damage, the only way I can see how you could die to leviathans is if you went into the Dead Zone like a retard.
I miss those threads.
hilarious
I don't think many people think it's 'hard' per-say. It's just nerve wracking going into the deeps when you can hear predators but can't see them.
why can't we fabricate nutrient blocks?
>complaining about the the hair of the chracters shadow
I wish I had your problems
Single player deep sea exploration game.
Nah I was in another thread earlier this week and I remember vividly people (as in more than one) complaining that the game was too hard, especially in the Lava Zone.
Why can't we throw knifes out of propulsion cannons?
...
I want to rebuild my base with a nicer layout when I get home from work. I also wanna craft a bunch of beacons and use them to mark all the new things I found in the asshole of this planet so I can use them later.
I can't resist the urge to rebuild everything BETTER.
La luz extuinguido.
>bunch of unconnected tubes
How is this base gonna work exactly?
What should I focus on at the beginning? After having taken care of basic needs, equipment and tools I have no idea what I should do.
I don't expect the game to hold my hand but it doesn't even try to show you how to progress.
You didn't notice it's loss? Really? How new are you?
I parked it at one of the entrances to the Lost River and never used it again. I just built another base by the Ghost Tree to use for my Prawn. Perfect spot really since it's just shallow enough for you to make a quick trip to it with the Seamoth, has lots of resources, nothing dangerous in your immediate area, easy power, and close to the end game areas.
It also has the best view in the game imo.
>How is this base gonna work exactly?
woah there, cowboy, that's not a base, it's just a ''funny'' mèmé
because beating a decade old dead horse is hilarious
in case you hadn't gotten it, it's meant to be Loss
Well yeah it is a loss of materials..
>easy power
how come? do you just build thermal plants on the lava zone and like 1km of power connectors?
I actually don't get it, have you been to the ship, have you listened to the radio messages, have you been to the island and did you check your PDA after scanning important things?
Other than that there are different wrecks with scannable goods for vehicles and upgrades, so I don't know how you don't find anything to do, it was rather the opposite for me.
Can you play in your save file after launching in the rocket? Or does the game just delete your save? I want to see the ending but I want to keep my save in case I want to fuck around later.
The Aurora is blown up and I can only access one room. I found 10 fucking propulsion cannons but nothing that lets me open doors and I didn't even know there was an island.
Build a radio and then listen to the messages, it's a pretty big guiding point through the game.
When your "rescue" arrives they lead you to the big gun platform. The rest of the game's progress comes from exploring those sites and getting directions to the next ones, which mostly require upgrading vehicles for greater depths.
Rescue hasn't come yet, so maybe that's it. Thanks, I thought the radio was just there for lore purposes.
>I found 10 fucking propulsion cannons but nothing that lets me open doors
Some doors are opened with the repair tool, which should have been one of the first tools you made. Others require the laser cutter. You can find fragments of it in wreckage boxes, often in the red grass areas. It's a small target, so make sure you're not overlooking them.
Blueprints can be the only weird thing when it comes to exploring, at one point I found like 10 pieces of the same scannable in a row.
Also maybe check the outside of the ship again where the headcrabs are living
dios mio...
El sangre de las ombras..
Your pod starts with a free radio, you never really NEED to build one.
ah, the 56% meme is real.
How come no one else builds in the kelp forest? This shit is apex comfy
I am but I am hoping they put in some more punishing survival mechanics for the cold climate
The water is cold
My save file is still there. Haven't loaded it to confirm, but I'd imagine I can continue it.
Nah, there's vents in the area around the tree.
Hmm, interesting, I never noticed that, how many degrees are you getting in those vents?
How would you handle an arctic DLC? Would you prefer an extra zone in the main game (where, how would it be accessible?)? I'd prefer a stand-alone expansion on a cold water planet
The lightning and surroundings made me nervous when I started, but maybe my next starting base will be there
Prawn Suit works too
watewr gets colder the lower you go (if there is no lava close)
Reaper Leviathans are way scarier than anything else in the game IMO
>It will be added in a separate game mode in the upcoming Expansion Pack. In which it will make up the entire playable area.
subnautica.wikia.com
I'm guessing it'll probably be a separate map, it's possible that arctic will not the be only biome in the expansion also.
Vents are the same everywhere, man.
Politics.
sweet
Finished the game yesterday - was thoroughly enjoyable.
My one gripe is that the game doesn't really incentivize you going to a lot of the (newer?) biomes - dunes, bulb zone, floating islands. You find almost all of your blueprints before even needing to go there.
