Is Diablo 3 worth it? I just finished the Starter Edition with a Barbarian, and it was kind of boring - I got a gear that healed more than any kind and number of enemies could ever hurt me, and it wasn't challenging on Normal.
Does it get better? Is it actually good?
Gabriel Carter
>Is Diablo 3 worth it? I meant is it worth the full price (~45 EUR).?
Josiah King
>normal difficulty The game does not work in the way you think it does. The game is entirely focused around the highest difficulty and is built to get the player their as fast as possible.
The gameplay of Diablo III is getting loot. You build your character to run the highest difficulty as fast as possible and keep doing this over and over to get gear. Basically, the question you need to ask is if you get any enjoyment out of seeing gear drop and character building as it's made to appeal to people who like getting items.
As far as difficulty goes, you have dungeons called 'greater rifts' that scale indefinitely, but the actual difficulty settings are only meant as a drop chance modifier.
So again, it really depends on what you find enjoyable. The game is a loot simulator. The story and difficulty is meaningless. You get a character to 70 and run rifts indefinitely for gear.

>Does it get better? Is it actually good?
I've put over 100 hours in Diablo 3 and I can safely say this.
No. It's the worst Diablo game in the trilogy. If you want a game that's like Diablo but better then you should play Grim Dawn. Previous Diablo games played better but you'll have a difficult time with the resolutions.
Ryan Lopez
no, its fucking terrible but its a decent game if you want an idle loot sim and not a dungeon survival sim
Luis Sanchez
I would recommend it only with friends. It's a lot of fun to muck around and grind with a few friends on TS/Discord/Skype or whatever, but as a solo experience once you do the campaign once, there isn't much reason to keep going. >the console version is really fun since you can all play together and even if your friends don't have it they can come over and play >there are difficulties beyond hard, and I usually play on the first one
Lucas Davis
So, on a very basic level, it's like drugs. You use it, and then use the loot you aqcuired to use more.
Jack James
Most games are designed like drugs.

Short answer? No, not worth a shit. Long answer. Leveling is a joke, gearing is a joke. Nothing really matters on the game, you don't really get much choice regarding builds since you only get a few viable options depending on the meta. There are no chase items, rares serve no purpose other than crafting mats, why not just drop the mats instead? Nothing you collect on early game is worth anything, after you have your specific 3 extracted powers for the meta build any other legendary item drop is vendor trash. Honestly I could go on and on on how shit D3 is, if you got the money try Titan Quest, Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn. If you got the time to actually invest on a new ARPG try Path of Exile, free to play with must buy stash tabs if you planning to invest time in it.
It's not very good. Your build is very gear-dependent and the skill progression system is absolute ass.
They fixed some of the end-game content and gear progression but it's still largely ass. Especially if you were a fan of the first two games in the series.
Basically you were to use Diablo 2 as a metric:
Diablo 3 is a poor excuse for a sequel and a mediocre game of the genre at best.
Path of Exile is closest to Diablo 2 in tone, artstyle, and setting, but very different in progression mechanics
Torchlight 2 is closest to Diablo 2 in progression mechanics, but the farthest away in tone, artstyle, and setting.
Grim dawn is somewhere in between.

>Most (A)RPGs and MMORPGs
Fix'd that fix

and every game with microtransactions, any sort of reward system, and every game built to keep you playing beyond just the story.
They shower you with rewards and pretty things to get you hooked, and then offer just enough to keep you playing once you're attached.
Eli Bailey
It's not I don't think any of these games do Grim Dawn or PoE is closest to any good for me but I'm bored of both at this point
Charles Rodriguez
What was the lowest price it was sold at?
Hudson Gonzalez
Its fucking blizzard, they don't believe in respecting the costumer
Owen Stewart
Yeah, I realized that when they released the Necromancer as a €15 DLC... FUCK BLIZZ
Andrew Peterson
$15 DLC for a dead game with no fucking support or future. D2 got a patch for it just 2 years ago...
Hudson Gutierrez
yes is a fun game
Lincoln Sanders
>fun
Josiah Perez
No. Play GD or PoE.
Andrew Powell
I had it on the 360 but I don't have it anymore Just mindlessly going through shit and looting while watching videos or overall chillin' was the best
Joshua Watson
Is Grim Dawn a good game? And I don't mean compared to D3.
Julian Morris
Diablo 3 alone is pretty bad. Reaper of Souls is fun. I've played a few hundred hours of it and had my time with it. They don't update it much anymore, it's basically dead now. But, it's still hours of fun for those who haven't experienced it. The real game starts at 70 when pushing Grift times.
Cooper Anderson
For some reason it's painfully boring to me. I also don't understand the existence of whites in that game, you turn off showing white drops almost immediately. At least in D3 you can grind them into craft shit. Idk.
Alexander Sanchez
I'd say it's worth about $20. The content is there and difficulty can be scaled so you can choose to have stronger enemies for an XP boost. The thing is Diablo isn't a skills game, as long as you have an optimal build you'll win if your gear is good enough and lose if it's bad. It's purely a numbers game. It's not like an FPS or soulslike where execution is everything, in Diablo gear is king so there is no difficulty, only gear checks. But the game is beautiful and the acts are fun. A solid week of fun as long as you don't rush through it.
Joshua Price
>Most ARPGs. >All MMOs. >All MOBAs. >Hero FPS games. >Anything with a lootbox or vanity grinds, so basically shit from fighting games to single-player RPGs.
Levi Hernandez
I'll agree on the aesthetic and great gameplay, but the story pissed me off, especially with bosses phoning in every five seconds with "OY YOU CAN'T BEAT ME EVER" Do they all secretly megazord into a lesser evil of gloat or something
Lucas Anderson
Yes the writing was bad but overall it’s a good game especially with ros. It’s also a very different game from d2 so I can see why older people hate it
Charles Gomez
Playing on normal is the most boring shit ever. just click and blast through maps.
Start on Inferno + HC mode, it will force you to actually think what you're doing and make game a challenge
Julian Thompson
Do you want: >character building >planning >variety >interesting gear/itemization >every skill viable >good thematic atmosphere & world If no, then Diablo 3 is a pretty good fun action game that you get bored with after a day. If yes, then there are way better ARPGs around.
William Wilson
>poe new ladder dropped the other day >people asking about buying d3
??????
Aiden Rodriguez
Garbage go play poe
Nathaniel Sullivan
Well to be fair, the new league is the kind of aids that you would expect from a blizzard team. I mean, beast capturing mechanics that hurt a whole bunch of builds?
Jose Young
d3 is fucking HORRIBLE, don't buy it. play d2 instead it's 1000000000x better.
Cameron Baker
go play a real game and not a pointless grind fest
Nicholas Diaz
Ewww rp is for fags
Jayden Gutierrez
Yeah its very strange, should have went a boss killer build. Dropped the whole thing when It took me an hour to complete act 1.
Ez mode flasks is the only good thing I see so far.
Luke Johnson
The game play drops drastically after about half way through.
Leo Kelly
>It’s also a very different game from d2 It's basically Gauntlet with equipment and a worse plot.
Lucas Brooks
it's fun for about 2 weeks, more so with friends
Cameron Brown
ARPGs the way they are structured today are the last leftovers of the mmo grind period of the first decade of the millenium. Just look at the most respected ARGP, Path of Exile. Its grind is literally korean mmo level.
