So this comes out tomorrow and I'm seeing no discussion about it.

Is there ANY excitement for this whatsoever? Like, any at all?

5th Cell died after the hot fucking garbage that was Drawn to Life 2.

Wasn't that the one where the ending revealed out of nowhere that the entire game was actually a boy in a coma after a car crash, despite this not meshing thematically with the game at all and there being zero buildup

The novelty has worn off, a new game isn't different from an older title and has the feel of being edutainment.

Distinct lack of marketing, which as a fan of the series concerns me. This is the first new game in 4 years and if it doesn't sell well they'll just kill the franchise off again. I need me a new main entry, dammit.

Scribblenauts died with adjectives and verbs. The first game actually felt like a puzzle game and rewarded you for doing levels multiple times with different solutions. I enjoyed 2 and Unlimited but they just felt way too fucking easy. I actually went through a majority of Unlimited with just dead babies alone. You can win with literally any object as long as you have the right adjective or verb.

The problem with Scribblenauts is that no matter how good your imagination is, you'll always be limited by what you can do in the game, which is very little. You may as well just imagine what a fight between Cthulhu and Hydra would look like in your head, rather than have Scribblenauts demonstrate it for you.

They've said there's a sandbox mode with 7 environments with puzzles similar to previous entries, but the bulk of the game is 24 party minigames. Which sucks.

For reference, 1 2 Switch had 28.

Maybe if it wasn't 60 bucks and looked like shovelware. What the fuck happened to 5th cell? I used to love their games, did I just grow up?

This. It had a broken Steam release but they didn't miss out since the game is actual garbage.

I missed the feel these games had before Unlimited. Unlimited was good but it felt like the beginning of an end. I could play The original drawn to life, The next chapter for wii/ds and the spongebob squarepants drawn to life, original scribblenauts and super scribblenauts anyday without any problems.
