I'm in my 30s.

It's still 1999, right Sup Forumsros? Please?

>WHIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

and in an blink of an eye you will be 60
in the great sheme of things you are nothing but a whisper

This makes me sad

youtube.com/watch?v=6pDugHeoXg4

This is cute.

You think the kid grew up to be a soyboy?

I don't plan on living that long. I'm just counting down the days until my inevitable suicide.

trick question
soyboys don't grow up

>being excited for school
school sucks, or at least mine did

Newfags

>tfw you'll never be this innocently excited about anything in your life
>tfw getting closer and closer to 30 and the anxiety grows more and more
>just want to recapture that child-like enthusiasm again

People without testosterone can never be functioning adults.

It was just a simple question.

there's very few games from the 5th generation that hold up today. most of the ones that do are on n64.

...

Nooooooo I need my N64!

Good pussy

I hope they put that cat down

He deserved it.

I genuinely miss having this level of enthusiasm.

>and in an blink of an eye you will be 60
You need to delete this right fucking now.

Sup Forums

This was me and my friends. Then in high school we started having LAN parties and Super Smash Bros Melee matches like fucking crazy every weekend. We played Melee well into High School, by the way. We all lived out in the country so before we got cars all we had was the internet until the weekend when we could all meet up, so we'd play nothing but Dawn of War and Call of Duty United Offensive every day after school. Now one of my friends is a doctor, the other became some rich yuppie in after first, moving to New York, and then taking all the money he made there and moved to Silicon Valley across the goddamn country. I miss being a kid. I'm nearly 30 now. I have a dead-end job. Shit sucks.

I think there's tons of PSX and Saturn games that are just as enjoyable as ever. There's definitely some games with awkward controls and stuff though that are weird coming back to.

tfw I was "that" kid

>huge Sega fanboy
>first console was a Sega Genesis, had all the Sonic games and rented games every week
>begged my mom for a Saturn for years
>finally one Christmas day
>open present, it's an N64
Turns out I dodged a bullet, didn't realize Saturn had fuckall games in the US. My neighbor had a Playstation so we would go over and play each other's exclusives.

the only games from the 5th generation that truly hold up are either 2D games or ones where the camera doesn't need to change much like star fox.

based cat

>My neighbor had a Playstation so we would go over and play each other's exclusives.
This right here.
That dude was how I played halo against my parents permission.

Yeah, my friends I grew up playing games with have all moved away and half of them don't even play games anymore. It's sad.

You're right that those are the ones that those are the easiest to come back to, but I think even 3D action games like Ape Escape or Metal Gear Solid are still great.

I still have game nights with my friends but it's mostly PUBG and various F2P games. It's weird, when we were little all we played were multiplayer games on Gamecube and Xbox LAN Halo, now it's 100% PC. I only know one person with a console and it's a WiiU lol. We still play Mario Party occasionally.

>Pictured: Hitler Youth, 1938, colorized

I still keep in touch with some of my friends, when my doctor friend has a night off we'll play strategy games together, and that's about all we do anymore. Right now we've been playing a lot of Steel Division. As a group me and my buddies never got into stuff like PUBG, one got really big into grand strats in college, I've always been the hardcore RPG junkie (Underrail and Age of Decadence are my favorite new RPG's for reference) and we all still play regular strategy games. I forgot to mention, we all played Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 like fucking crazy since those came out right around the time we graduated from high school. And the original Killing Floor, played that a buttload. We don't really play shooters anymore.

This past New Years a friend of mine got a switch and we all had a giant Mario Kart tournament when we were drunk. That was fun as fuck. Then we took turns playing Mario Odyssey because that game is fucking good. I'll give Nintendo credit they still know how to make a good video game. I feel like I'm rambling, I'll stop.

Do we know how that kid looks like nowadays?

>tfw none of my friends live in town anymore
>tfw only get to do local multiplayer games a few times a year when my friends actually are in town
>tfw too shit at making new friends these days
>tfw playing Melee this past New Years with my old high school friends was the most fun I've had in the past 4 years
I always feel too awkward at my local arcade to play a game with someone else, wish I could get a group going over there or something.

i feel ya. all my high school/college friends are hundreds of miles away and i live in a state where there's fuck all to do. makes me want to just move to somewhere completely different and just hit the proverbial reset button.

That's cool, I'm too much of a brainlet for strategy games I guess besides SimCity and Cities: Skylines. Been playing SimCity since my parents bought our first computer, a Packard Bell with Windows 95. In college it was mostly MMO's, with our floor split between Guild Wars and WoW. Occasionally we would play shooters like UT3, Crysis and Call of Duty 4 and WaW. My shit laptop wasn't good enough for any shooters outside of CoD, looking back I'm legitimately surprised I got WaW to run at a playable enough framerate, Now it's almost universally single player games for me outside of weekly game night. Was really into modding Bethesda games for a while, now it's just whatever new AAA single player meme game is out. I love story driven games so I've been going back and playing old adventure games, mainly Microids stuff.

>mommmmmmyyyyyyyyy the mean kittie scratched meeeee for being a a a a little spaaaaz ;;;;;;;;;;_________;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Same, sometimes I feel like I'm going nowhere and just want to move to the same state as my friends and fulfilling my voice acting dream (but I need to save up a lot more money before even considering that).
I just want to start my fucking adult life already even though I'm already in my late 20's.

i hate to encourage blogposting, but im literally writing a short story about someone in your exact situation, but as a city kid i dont know much about the feelings of boredom in my hometown or losing friends who move on to their own lives.

elaborate a little - when did they leave, how long you been alone, what made you stay, are they doing well, etc.

>Always been a Sony/Nintendo idort
>PS2 is out for a while, still don't have it
>One day I'm helping clean my mom's car and I spot a poorly hidden PS2 and like four games in the trunk
>Christmas is in two weeks, excited as absolute fuck
>Christmas day happens, parents keep saving one gift for last
>It's... a Xbox
>Game store employee convinced them all the kids nowadays wanted Xbox and not a PS2 so they took it back
>Got Madden and Halo
I didn't want to seem ungrateful but I rarely played my Xbox except for Panzer Dragoon Orta.

>voice acting dream
hopefully you're not too far away from texas or god forbid california or canada. keep adding more content into your portfolio in your downtime. employers want to see range not just in voice but emotion. best of luck, sir.

hope this cat does the same thing next year

i live in vermont, a state with no jobs and high taxes across the board which discourages businesses from expanding to here. it's been a few years since graduating college and i'm only still here because i have a secure job but not enough money to make the gamble to go somewhere too far. friends seem to be doing okay. their majors aren't as practical in the job market as mine but they have families that are much more well off so it doesn't matter.

Sure, I'm bored and don't mind indulging a bit.

>when did they leave
Mostly within the past couple years, we had a summer right after college ended for my friends where we got to hang out a lot but one of them moved out of state for a job right after that summer.
Another friend left for the same state a year after to pursue his dreams and another just doesn't hang out with me a lot these days.

>how long you been alone
I'd say about a year and a half now (moved back in with my parents about 3 years ago).

>what made you stay
Fear of being on my own after feeling really depressed in school (ended up dropping out and enrolled back here), financial problems, comfort with the environment especially in the suburbs (I could never live in a city full time, I don't like how cramped everything is), and growing dislike over some of my roommates' antics.

>are they doing well
I'd say they are but they actually have their degrees and real goals for themselves in the coming years (not to mention better social skills and job prospects). They find their jobs boring but at least they actually make some dough and have some connections out there, I do alright and don't have to pay rent right now but I feel the pressure from my parents to move out sometimes (even though I'm the one keeping the fucking house together).

I just wish I could make a lot of money fast and get the fuck out of here. Thanks for the vent.

...

>shaking a hard drive

fuck, and here i was considering moving to vermont since they just legalized recreational weed - its been my plan forever to move somewhere with similar legislation, but VT is as close to home as i can get. its good that you have a degree and stable work; maybe you should save up and try moving some time in the future if you really hate it that much - thats where my story is heading, anyway.

your story sounds a lot closer to my main characters, which is helpful. i know the feeling of family being a bitch all too well; i would start making plans to gtfo outta there as soon as you could - thats what im in the middle of doing.

dont wanna shit the board up any more, thanks for your input guys - i wish you both the best of luck in finding your way out of the hell that is suburia

>You think the kid grew up to be a soyboy?

No. I distinctly remember reading an article about him, about how he sold the N64 in that video on eBay because he doesn't care about video games anymore, and would rather "spend time with my girlfriend."

Not kidding. Someone can find that article.

>the girl humping the box

Low level you mean?

Cat's hate so(n)yboys.

The dog didn't attack its owner though.

The cat acted like a pit bull, the only difference being it's too weak to seriously injure an adult human.

>fuck, and here i was considering moving to vermont since they just legalized recreational weed
vermont is basically hardcore leftists in the college towns and rednecks everywhere else. weed's legal in mass too if that's your top priority.
>maybe you should save up and try moving some time in the future if you really hate it that much
that's been the plan. i also have to save up for a car that isn't shit. my top choices in the northeast are new hampshire, maine, or penn. mass has jobs but it's also expensive as fuck there, so it'd have to be the best paying job i could find.

That's a shame. Ninja Gaiden was the shit.

Not when the bite gets infected

>you will never be this happy
After watching this I can't stop smiling. Pretty happy.

>I just remember being happy and excited for the first day of school
>Now I lonely sail through the sea of garbage that is my life

Jesus fuck If you saw video of a bunch of kids acting all hyped over an xbox or a ps2 you'd feel happy for them.

Listen, no one gives a single fuck about your console war bullshit. Just let people have their fun and don't be an asshole over the happiness of others.

Hard drives are not THAT fragile. If they were they'd be obliterated in shipping.

These kids were about to be molested are they?
:(

the girl in that video pisses me off. i had to grow up with a sister the same age. she doesnt even care about video games shes just needs to stick her nose in everything fucking bitch

autism

>Just let people have their fun and don't be an asshole over the happiness of others.
wheredoyouthinkweare.jpg

I bet that girl has taken dick in her asshole on the reg by just mentioning that is her in the video. The boy is a faggot.

Lmao, how the fuck is it possible that it's been 20+ years since N64 launched and all of you are still lonely virgins with zero social skills?

This was like 8 years ago

YOU'RE DROWNING IN TIME. SNAKE

>air date: October 29, 2009
How the fuck?!

I assume the silver piping is to filter out the smell of the marijuana growing in there?

Why was there always the shirtless kid?
