Exploiters getting BTFO
There was an exploit in the MMO FF14 and now cheaters are getting banned.
youtube.com
Oh for some reason I read FFXV. That's nice.
Get fucked cucks. Blizzard won’t even ban bots because those would lower their already abysmal sub count
What exploit
gee, idk, maybe watch the video that user linked that literally explains it?
Squadron LB that gave a 50% DPS buff could be used in normal content.
idk what people expect. Don't fucking abuse exploits, how do you think they'll view it?
>Oh, well user played the game for nearly 5 years, so he's allowed to blatantly abuse things that were clearly not intended
FF14 has raids with special skills and people learned that you could use those uber skills outside of those raids just by typing the skill as /ac Ungarmax
Massive overlook from the part of the devs but it was clearly an exploit as it was not a special skill.
You unga you get bunga
I'm actually a bit pissed off that I didn't learn about this one simple trick to increase your DPS numbers by 30% until after the redditors.
Honestly i think it's shitty that people abused the exploit but i don't think they should be banned for it. Maybe given a warning or some sort of punishment but a permaban feels like too much. It's a PvE game, is it really such a big deal that people cheated against the AI, especially since the exploit existing in the first place is kind of SE's fault.
why would they ban people for using features in the games that weren't even bugs? They fucke up, then patch it and roll back. That's fucking scummy to lose customers for that shit. It's not admitting your team is incompetent.
Nah you can't accidently abuse this exploit, they knew exactly what they were doing.
They paid for the product though.
That doesnt mean you can break ToS.
fucking SAVAGE
god i love companies banning people
bet he was toxic too
It's literally not the player's responsibility to not do things that are included in the game.
It's the developers' responsibility to not put those things in.
Players getting banned for developer fuck ups is always retarded.
>It’s not a big, it’s a feature!
Get fucked kid, they all did this shit and they’re paying the price
I'm not saying it was accidental, i'm saying that cheating against the AI is a victimless crime. SE fucked up by allowing the bug to exist in the first place, and nobody got hurt from it being abused. A slap on the wrist would be more appropriate, not a permaban.
TOS, motherfucker. If even fucking Runescape has this shit, then you can expect almost every game to have it.
>"never to clear any high-end content"
>"used in ultimate coil once or twice hehe :P"
god I hope more cunts like this get banned
actually it was a skill from the low-level AI Squadron Dungeons that people were then using an exploit to use it in raids and other high-level content.
>because they paid for it and weren't the actual people that accidentally coded the bug into the game, that means that they're allowed to knowingly abuse a game-breaking exploit which affected players' FFLogs and potentially the entire world-progression races for UCoB and Sigmascape (Savage).
lol no, they all deserve to be perma'd
>watch a 16 minute video of a cuck talking about something that can be summarized in three sentences
Stop using exploits in our game you little fucks!
I'm going to ban all of you cheating losers before you even get a chance to try out Eureka!
And stop hacking yourselves on to Balmung, it's full, fuck off!
>oh thank god, people are finally being punished for being smarter and more resourceful than i am!
>why couldnt this have happened in high school?
>faggot Redditor admits to cheating in the absolute toughest content in the game
>WOOOOOOOOW HOW DARE SE BAN ME I PAID FOR YEARS I SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHEAT HOWEVER I WANT
The entitlement washes off this cunt in waves. I can't even imagine what sort of insufferable faggot this person must be in real life.
I used it to show off to my raid group it works, but only during dead pulls when it was just finishing up a wipe.
So this exploit means all FF logs numbers are essentially worthless now right
F
Fucking jewish to ban people for that. I've never even imagined being banned for exploting a bug in a game. Most games you have to exploit bugs to be competative. I have unlimited tickets in splatoon 2 from a bug at launch i exploited, should i be banned for that too?
I wouldn't be surprised if I got banned, but at least it wasn't being used to actually kill anything.
i used it once outside of squadron when i was going through text commands since they implement those before they announce the actions
am i fucked
I don't think they should be allowed to do it, i just think the punishment is disproportionate to the "crime". If this was a game with ranked PvP people REALLY cared about like for example Dota or CS and they used exploits to win against other players, artificially getting to the top while making legitimate players lose rank then they should be banned. But who cares if they cheated against the AI? Sure, it might have affected world 1st races, and if that's the case just release a public list of everyone who did it. Nobody would take their FFlogs seriously anymore and they'd have to live with the shame, i think it's more fitting punishment than a full-on ban.
Yes, fuck off.
Bootlicket
If you are using an unintended exploit in an online multiplayer game that gives you an unfair advantage over players who don't, then yes you should be banned.
>Do something you know for a fucking fact is an exploit
>Wow guys they really shouldn't just made it impossible for me to cheat instead of punishing me for cheating.
Supposedly logs with the ungabunga got deleted.
XIV pvp is heavily exploited to fudge the leaderboards but SE doesn't give a shit
So has it been confirmed if any server firsts used this exploit or are they all good bois playing legit?
That's literally the excuse people used for using Aimbots in Overwatch
>You can't ban me from the game, I paid for it!
>It's literally not the player's responsibility to not do things that are included in the game.
>Agreed to the Terms of Service that allows Square to fuck you up the ass and repossess your computer for missing a payment
>"WHY ARE THEY PUNISHING ME!?"
They could have just patched it and left the players alone.
Were they fucking things up for other players?
>broken game
>ban players
Pathetic. How do you even draw the line between what is "indended" if you stumble upon it
>not wanting people to cheat in an online game makes you a bootlicker
Fuck off
>exploit
>cheating
Kek
All world firsts are good bois. Though I would love if something like that happend.
>should've just made it impossible for me to cheat
Yeah, they should have. This isn't even a "cheat" in the sense that it uses third-party tools to give you an unfair advantage. They're literally banning people because of a developer oversight.
I can almost guarantee the japs that first cleared ultimate used it
>supporting banning players instead of fixing your broken game
Fuck you for enabling these rice kikes
nice try, but it's a frigging command line, everybody can do it, and they could have corrected that in about 2 minute if they cared. Instead they honeypotted people because their ego prevent them to admit their incompetence. Only videogames is so shitty. Anywhere else in the computer programing market, dev heads would have rolled instead, and customers would be refunded.
It literally is. It's a feature that use code as intended. If they "forgot" to remove it, it's their programmers fault.
Say what you will about them but this kind of stuff is where i think Valve shines the most. This reminds me of the idling program fiasco in TF2. Valve could have mass-banned everyone who used it but they recognized that it was something that while violated the ToS it was used relatively harmlessly since it didn't really hurt other players. So they did the best possible PR move, instead of causing massive community outrage and losing a bunch of customers over something that wasn't very serious they just gave everyone a slap on the wrist and a brand of shame to everyone who exploited it. I think it's BY FAR the most inteligent way to handle situations like this.
>Hey guys we can use this outside of its intended area but we have to use a command line to activate it
>Sounds a bit dodgy are you sure it's okay?
>It's fine it's in the code huehuehue
The state of cheaters.
exploiting is fun
>handing arguements to the game is cheating
Hahahahahahahaha!
>exploit known for months by western community
>developers do nothing
>some Jap scrubs mention it
>yoshi-p loses his shit and hands out permabans
b-based...
>have to use a command line
more like
>have to use the chat macros
the absolute STATE of casul brainlets
Halo 2 was fun.
>take oddball
>superbounce to top of map
>laugh
I knew Sup Forums was full of cheating fucks, but it's hilarious seeing the Exploit Defense Force put out this much damage control.
Imagine typing a command into cs go terminal and getting banned.
where's the proof that people are getting permabanned? at most people are getting temporary suspensions. perma banning paying subscribes is the opposite of what a business that loves money would do.
>Removing obvious cheaters from the community
I see nothing wrong here. If they were willing to cheat in an online game for something as simple as a command then they'd be willing to do far worse. This is the equivalent of removing gold buyers from the game
>imagining i play CS:GO
i'd rather not
also you can use the terminal to adjust UI and things in cs:go already
Good the more tranny fucks that get banned the better.
If the game allows it because the devs overlooked it it's not cheating.
Uh, what about gilsellers and botters?
The only people getting banned are the people that used it in ultimate/savage tiers. I abused the shit in roulettes and I haven't been touched.
What did you use Ungarmax on Sup Forums?
no ban for them. they attract and retain players
Shouldn't they fix that exploit instead?
F
they already did, bans are coming after the fix.
WoW had an exploit exactly like this, and I don't believe anyone was banned for using it(I used it, nothing happened)
Death Knights could type /apply(or was it /use) their plague dots and apply them to any target, from nearly any range. You could do it to your own faction, people not even flagged, or whomever, and it would apply powerful dots to them. A couple dozen DK from my server stood outside Stormwind raping the shit out of anything that moved.
anyways, good on nips to not give second chances. I deserved to be banned, but I'm glad I didn't.
How are they at all surprised? Does no-one remember the Salvage exploit bans in 2011 on FFXI? SE are almost in the CCP category of MMO devs that will fucking end you if you exploit or hack.
CCP are the champs at it purely because getting a permanent ban in Eve straight up bans YOU from the game, your not even allowed to play alts or make a new account.
Why did nobody report this exploit if it was so obviously one?
Because it's not?
Guaranteed they knew about it for awhile.
It took ff14 players years to figure out how their speed stat worked. I don't think it was common knowledge until now, even though it's probably been an exploit since squads were put out.
>bans are coming after the fix
For what purpose then?
Stop trying to adverstise your sihtty video here you stupid faggot, if you want to discuss vidya here, so do it, don't post your stupid shit.
Permaban is easier than deleting their clears/removing loot I guess.
MUH TOS OH SORRY YOU CANT USE THE PRODUCT YOU PAID FOR BECAUSE WE HAD A BUG IN OUR SOFTWARE
its criminal
people were selling content via paypal money or in-game currency abusing the glitch
come again?
see
And why does that part matter. Those who paid recieved what they were paying for, right? And those good were not hacked but a result of a software bug.
And that bug is fixed now.
So why is that a reason?
For anyone bitching about this - is this your first MMO? Because exploits like this are not that uncommon and obvious abuse is always, ALWAYS punished.
>If it's in the game it must be legit!
Oh yeah, I'm sure duplication bugs, physics errors and crap that warps your character out of bounds are all totally fucking legit ways to play because the devs overlooked some random fucking specific detail in their god damn gigantic wall of game code.
Paying for clears with real cash is against the ToS. Paying for clears with gil is almost certainly bought through RMT which is also against the ToS. They have access to all chat logs, combat logs, and can see who is sending gil through mail or marketboard which can come from RMT bots.
>be incompetent
>have bug for months
>honeypot users instead of fixing it right away
Squarenix hasnt been good in well over a decade, but this is just pathetic
a training dummy
>if they were willing to eat a cupcake left sitting in an empty room they'd also be willing to break into and rob someone's house, better put them in prison!
This is how fucking retarded you sound. I bet you're trolling with this dumb shit you faggot.
They already fixed it awhile ago. Now they're banning players who were abusing the glitch to sell carries for cash.
>repossess your computer for missing a payment
This is a hell of an old flash you're referencing, but it checks out
>Retards still think posting this is any kind of valid proof
Pathetic and sad.
Buying raid carries for real cash or gil is indeed pathetic and sad.
they prob knew about it but tried to keep it hidden till recently so square just backtracked logs of it being used and bam mass bans
>Cheat in the hardest tier of the game by abusing a glitch and sell carries for it via PayPal money by abusing the same glitch
>"WHY AM I BEING PUNISHED?!"
>fuck up your game code and players abuse it
>PERMANENTLY ban players for this
exploiting or not seems a bit excessive
SE won't ban you as long as you're a cash shop whore. Hope you've bought at least $200 worth of fantasia recently.
