PvErs hated attunement. PvPers hated the combat. Bugs galore and lategame's a bore.

Dead ass game. Honestly why hasn't it been shut down yet?

It still hurts, bros.

I like it, and it's fun.
Don't see why more people don't give it another chance.

>PvErs hated attunement
Cry baby raiders hated attunement. Otherwise it wasn't that bad.

>new player tries the game
>wow, this game is so fun! why don't more people play this?

im not new, ive been playing since launch

today I will remind them

I had a lot of fun leveling

the art style ruined it for me.

It was a fun 30 days

He will soon realize that it is shit.

does anyone still play?

It's not shit, but it has no future.

its shit, its one of the better "action combat" mmos but everything else about it is pure garbage, especially most of the design decisions.

>b-but i liked it
>YOU HAVE LEVELED UP, THAT WAS TOTALLY BADASS CUPCAKE

youtube.com/watch?v=sxxb8h8rSnk

literally the randy pitchford of mmos

>le borderlands
you have to go back

It's really unfortunate that such a great initial setup and selection of content was so thoroughly sabotaged by incompetent developers.

>best in genre housing system
>a nice active combat system
>best feeling / response movement and the only MMO to ever beat WoW at this
>lots of personality (love it / hate it)
>striking art style (love it / hate it)
the promise of a return to form for the open world MMO
>etc...

It should have launched with this trailer, as a F2P game, and with another year of testing and a development pipeline that wasn't "We'll figure it out as we go tee hee!"

this was almost removed when the game went f2p because it hurt some people's feefees

I don't think it's too late, they just need to market it some more and maybe get some people to try it again. Beause it's actually good.

The art style is what initially drew me to it, really looked like an animated disney movie ( with some T&A ) in motion which is striking. But yeah it was polarizing as hell, but with the genre already clogged up with pretty but shallow KMMO's, guild wars 2's bland blurry w/e, and WoW's warcraft thing there was room for something else in there.

>I don't think it's too late
No, it's way too late.
ncsoft doesn't care, carbine is a skeleton crew

Pretty fun, but it got old quick. The plot twists were depressingly predictable too. I liked the lack of focus on targetting and auto attacks.

No, it's not too late.
It can be brought back with effort.

No MMO has ever been brought back from that state.

Today on Trailers better than the game they're advertising.

It fucked up launch. Fucked up f2p. Fucked up steam. There's no one left on the dev team who can do anything but palette swaps and rotate events. Nobody plays it because it has no furute and it has no future because nobody plays it. There's nothing short of a miracle that could save wildstar.

never seen that trailer, really liked it. They really should've released with that, like that.

have they ever added a new class to the game in all this time, though? out of curiosity

ffxiv did

I was one of the closed beta testers, back when there was 100 of us in the first wave. Loved this game to death, played it hard for more than a year and then tried my best to stick with it through the F2P transition. I hope the game keeps going, but it was knee-capped from the start due to Gaffney stepping down and Frost using it as a trampoline to launch himself into a different studio, and apparently the backend development plan was non-existent beyond "let's ship this thing" and it really showed.

The housing system will always be near and dear to me tho. Built so much cool stuff with so many friends. The /vg/ end of beta parties were a highlight.

Then all that needs to happen is more people play it.

Only good thing to come out of this game was lewds of those robots

DDO is a one-off example, I have no fucking clue how that MMO is still going and is even successful.

>but xiv
xiv had the backing of a huge vidya publisher who knew the game would make money back as long as they turned it into something decent.
Wildstar already is something decent and no one plays it because it's a literally who mmo.

Some of the most retarded proportions in any game I've seen. Looks retarded, no wonder this shit flopped.

>why do all races look like different colored humans? fuck this shit
>why do different races have different proportions? fuck this shit
I hate mmo players.

>best pve content
>is dead
wow and xiv need to die so their players can disperse and give other mmos a chance.

i like both of them so i'd prefer them not to die but more people need to play this game.
fucking hell i hate it when good stuff dies.

This always amuses me about MMOs; did Wildstar ever get a nude patch or mod?

>>best in genre housing system

For as shit as WS was the housing system was top notch and no MMO offered housing that good.

This game ate WoW players alive. The amount of bitching and butthurt about how hard it was went on for weeks until they all quit. Now obviously that was a terrible fucking business decision, but props to Wildstar for finally holding the MMO playerbase's feet to the fire about their bitching about things being too dumbed down.

yes

you know what even if you dont care for mmos if you just like decorating this game is good.
i could spend all day because the housing plot is so big i can't even figure out what to do with it

>tfw wildstar was the first mmo you played seriously

you still play senpai? i wanna see your house.

Plot should be open

>Played Human Esper
>Only other choice for Esper race was Chua
>Never actually saw a single other human Esper
>Class is filled with furry RPers but continue on out of spite

Was a fun class at least.

>Found texture glitch with scholar subclass
>Piece of gear would give you a bag of scrolls on your back
>If you wore the correct headgear it would glitch out and use the texture from the scrolls
>Riding around on my hoverboard with crazy scroll scrawl covering my face entirely

this is really cool, i never would have thought to do mines.

People have done a lot more impressive shit with housing. Housing , rp, and raids are basically why the game still has players.

I thought they shut this down already.

true, also the clutter around your house is really nice.

You thought wrong.

that girl looks like the girl from willy wonka who ate the blueberry

I was gonna add more stuff but got bored. I haven't touched housing in months. I mostly just raid log now.

>The amount of bitching and butthurt about how hard it was went on for weeks until they all quit.
>but people still want classic WoW

I played the beta way back when and liked the how the combat felt a lot. How is this MMO not dead? Is it at least f2p yet?

yes it's f2p, been so for a long while.

They want nostalgia.

I loved the pvp combat. What I hated was the fucking bots.

ive never seen any bots

Playing spellslinger back during the pre-release free weekends was fun. Haven't tried it in ages though.

Of all the MMOs to crash and burn of late, Wildstar was the one I was saddest to see go.

I wish there were more Sci-Fi MMOs. I haven't quite gotten my fix ever since SWG and Matrix Online ended.

its not dead yet
give it another chance, theres a lot more people playing now

Here's what an amazing housing plot looks like.

>You Think You Want You, But You Don't: The Game

Well if SWTOR of all things can come back from the festering fuckpit EA buried it in with an expansion that was at least tolerable, I guess I can give the sun bleached corpse of Wildstar another glance if it's f2p.

>its not dead yet
I mean, it is, but if anyone wanted to try the game I won't stop them. It really is fun.

wow there's hope after all
let's not give up.

thats a fuckin housing plot?
looks like a god damned dev built main city or some shit
god damn thats some good shit
hnnnnnnnngfgf

have they done anything to the classes to spice things up? I played beta, my only complaint was the classes were all pretty cliched and boring and there zero variation in anything

i dont think the classes changed too much, thats one of my complaints too but i found the esper to be one of the more fun classes which you need to think about rotations

People have done really creative stuff with housing. This one plot was made for a pvp event a while back. The top side was sectioned off into individual arenas, each with a different theme.

All classes have had changes. Some play differently while others play the same but with new quarks.

Wildstar is honestly a fun game. Leveled a class to level 60 for both factions, and the housing system is excellent. PvP is probably the only part of the game that was shitty.

It's sad to see it in the state it is now, and it's only a matter of time before it vanishes completely.

dont say that it still has a chance
if you give up of course its over so dont
pvp is much better now

>those mechari girls

If carbine allowed mechari to be spellslingers tomorrow, I'd drop my exile one. I don't care that I'd have to make up the difference in ilvl.

>tfw i never finished my plot

it hurts, but i cant go back.

why not? if youre just building a house you dont have to level

When I played this, I made my house into a katamari.

i only built to rp, and to hang out with friends

neither exists anymore

It's been years since I played the game. What were the available builds for mechari?

tfw had a rest in peacemaker

shame carbine fucked the game up so much. some of those fights will remain some of my favorite boss fights period.

nice junk pile
medic, engineer, warrior, stalker

how does my bathroom look?

rp is very popular though

Why can't they give it the FFXIV treatment?
The game had so much potential
;_;

I've seen better

WSRP? filled with people like faust
Darknest? carebears and people who cant take any hint of conflict

i got real tired of bar/brothel rp

Make threads during the day when the Americans are awake and try to revive the general on /vg/. Might lure a couple people in that way. I was honestly surprised to learn that the servers hadn't been shutdown yet.

>tfw a proud aryan volkish game like WildStar died while nigger faggot wow is still alive

so its a shitty toilet?

Because 1) it's not final fantasy and 2)it's not guaranteed to get more players

wildstar was fucking garbage

idk i havent ever really been into rp but i see a lot of lfrp stuff

theres not really a lot of mmos that have a focus on dungeon-crawling like it does

i think he was referring to the fact that it seems to never get updates and has no playerbase

ive been working on this area for a while

I gave up over a year or longer ago, I forget. I had my fun with it, there's just no future for it and that's kind of necessary for an MMO.

any thoughts?

Trying to recreate Skyrim in Wildstar?

looks comfy
