Sup, what rank are you?
Sup, what rank are you?
Gold 2. Almost got up to platinum last season, now I'm struggling to get back up.
Diamond.
I'm rank "I only play once every five months when I randomly get the urge to, but otherwise I mostly play euro strategy games, total warhammer 2, and pixel shit like FTL and one way heroics"
Was gold 2 last time I played but I've definitely gotten worse since I stopped playing for so long.
I stopped playing when I saw the shitty wheel rewards last season.
Platinum. Getting up is really hard and I guess I could use some tips.
>don't try to be perfect, just try to exploit your opponents mistakes
Don't chase the ball, don't occupy the same area as your team mates.
But what's this? Your team mate is in the corner, skrumming with the other team, and the ball has come to a standstill? Giving you the perfect opportunity to run in and FUCK IT ALL UP GOD DAMNIT I TOLD YOU DON'T CHASE DON'T DOUBLE-ENGAGE
diamond before i went to play only god tier chaos mode.
I’ve been plat for probably a year now. What the fuck can I do to improve? Online seems to get me nowhere
>that guy that plays without a tag and a hat
Ive been stuck in diamond for ages now. Thought this season will be the one i finally hit champ, but im stuck at diamond 3 instead.
Been practicing air rolls and aerials like crazy but i still cant git gud. The worst part is my inconsistency, sometimes i go on a horrific run playing like im straight from gold.
Im clinging to perserverence that somehow it will all click together and ill be a good player some day, but boy does it hurt knowing people who've played much less hours can kick my ass.
Diamond I on a good night
Platinum III on a bad night
Limbo between C1 and D3
I only play Ranked to avoid leavers. It’s been pretty depressing to watch the Ranked community be overrun by children and/or manchildren
>ranked
>Party game
i wish more people played chaos
this. it isn't even satisfying beating kids, it just leaves you bitter about such a shitty match.
I've never play ranked
Then why did you reply?
>the absolute state of this board
never reply to me again
Not that user, can I still reply to you?
>almost get out of Gold 3
>friend says lets play 2v2 ranked together
>he drags me down to Silver
I wanna strangle him sometimes
>play inconsistent as fuck
>regularly piss off random duo partners
I feel bad until they start talking shit and then im happy they get an L
Champ 1. I’ve been playing since release though
>almost get to Gold 2
>lose 10 matches in a row with half of them having leavers within the first 2 minutes
J U S T
Got champ II in both of the 3's and champ in duos and uninstalled the game for a while. I'm good enough to be champ, sometimes champ 2, but champ 3 and GC are so far out of my reach is not even funny.
Also I uninstalled the game cause I met my goals for the season already and RL was my go-to game when I had an hour or so to play games. Now I can try to finish something else instead.
Silver
t.600 hours played
I dont blame you. Once you no longer have a realistic target, grinding ranked gets stale.
And since the top tier of season rewards is champs, there must even less motivation to keep trying for GC.
Champion I
What you guys need to understand is that Rocket League is a game that heavily relies on positioning, specially on 3s. Sometimes, specially in the mid-low ranks (up untill plat) you almost don't need to touch the ball, just be at the right place to put it in. Just let your teammates follow and kick the ball around while you wait for a center or a loose ball in the entrance of the area.
The other option you have is to become a rock solid keeper, and to do that all you need to do is some training packs Want codes?
I reached champion last season and this season aswell without being able to do a decent ceiling shot or an air drag, so work on your positioning before you go for those juicy aerials
Plat 1-3.
I'm never going further up than that because I can't do aerials.
It was fun to get back to the champ ranks this season since you didn't start too far behind. The earlier seasons were just terrible because of the full reset.
I've been gold/champ whatever since the game launched but I've always felt like I'm bad at the game. I'm still very mediocre at air-shots, cant hit a single wall-shot and can barely pass and yet I still always make champ every season. I guess basic fundamentals and positioning gets you here.
>only play rl with friend because its funnier that way
>he has shitty internet, laptop, keyboard
>1 out of 2 games, he goes afk , disconnects or something else happens
>we went from silver 1 to gold 3 just fixing his shitty rig

lmfao
not even close
I cant get past diamond because those awkward midfield and defensive bouncing lobs fuck me up.
The opponent regularly gets there before me if im trying to go for the high percentage play.
If i try to reach it early, i risk whiffing or nudging the ball at a shitty angle where it gives the other team an advantage.
A lot of games just end up with me trying to play safe and getting minimal touches. On the odd occasion ill hit a vein of form and bulldoze the ball through defense till it ends up on net.
I wish training packs had flying bots going for the ball to better simulate real games. Its like 100x harder making a good aerial in diamond-champ because some other fucker gets there first.

Played it for a grand total of 3 hours, didn't get the appeal, and dropped it
>I wish training packs had flying bots going for the ball to better simulate real games.
There are a few things training packs could do, like let you randomize their order or set your initial velocity.
Very much this. I’m champ but my friend is in plat and if I go round his and watch him play you can see he and his entire team always
>ball chase
>bunch together
>try to solo play without the mechanics to do so
>go for stupid aerials (or even attempt ceiling shots) they can’t hit
>double/triple commit
>over rotate
>hesitate
>don’t challenge early enough in defence
>go too far up the field allowing easy counter goals
>instead of leaving the ball for another teammate with a better position they have to touch it and this fucks everything up
There’s more but these make me sad when I watch
Start trying and don’t stop. Every time you fly you understand the mechanics better.
