Siren 2 deserved a US release. It's pretty much what modern survival horror games should be/play. It's challenging while having an intuitive control scheme.

Beat Haunting Ground last week and while it's not terribly scary I enjoyed it immensely.
Would recommend to anyone that likes puzzles, great visuals, extreme nippon/Capcom weirdness, dogs and the Clocktower series.
You could run through it in under 10 hours easily but the atmosphere is tip top.

I really like Rebecca and Billy, they had great interactions and the gameplay in terms of having them both together and being able to split them up was really cool to me. I also liked that you could just drop items anywhere.

mostly it's because of how it works
in dino crisis 2, dinosaurs spawn every camera angle change, which is ok because you're not zipping around areas at mach fucking 11
in 3? you are zipping around areas at mach 11, but the camera is still fixed which makes for a nauseating and unnecessarily clunky experience

Games like Amnesia, Outlast and even Dead Space are only uncomfortable in maybe the first hour. How is this scary? What's the challenge? Where's the gameplay? When do you really invest, digest and think it through?

Silent Hill 2-3, Fatal Frame 2-3. Honorary mentions to Siren games but the controls aren't too hot outside of the remake also the objectives are pretty obtuse at times. Also Kuon was a pretty interesting and strange game. Gameplay was shallow as fuck though but I found the story really interesting.
