Its high level of customisability and breezy pace thanks to the Enc-Half & Enc-None ability combined with how junction and levelling works makes it by far one of the most replayable FF games. Especially for the people that played it when they were young and are now adults without the same amount of free time to spend on JRPGs.
The story also benefits from replaying it due to lots of subtle hints about various details, and the story being focused on relationships and introspective character growth is more engaging than a more basic save the world story. People often didn't understand the game when they were younger because the story is a bit convoluted in areas, and the focus isn't on a basic save the world plot (though that is still present to a degree). But coming back to it with more maturity the characters, their flaws, and their relationships are very engaging and interesting.

I prefer its and VII's system of complete freedom in terms of character customisation, the music is fantastic, the characters... eh, the story is mostly cohesive and even engaging between the latter half of disc 1 and beginning of disc 3 but gets pretty dumb towards the end, but if you compare it with XIII and XV, it's not even that noticeably terrible. Also has my favorite final bossfight in the entire series.

I always see the junction system and level scaling being criticized but it's really not a valid excuse, how many of you figured out level scaling and completely broke the game with junctions on your very first run? The answer is no one, and if anything, it makes the game less tedious when replayed.
