I genuinely really liked the first half of 3. I know not everyone likes the Orphanage but most of that was skippable if you really disliked it and it was also balanced against Kiryu pacifying the local yakuza war too. Also Okinawa was just a pretty nice place to be. Once BEAUTIFUL EYES showed up and Kiryu heads back to Kamurocho proper it starts going downhill though, so much so that it's funny I guess.
I also really liked Kiryu's part in 5. Aside from Aizawa being the final boss instead of Morinaga I didn't have many problems with it really.
