I prefer playing Breath of the Wild at a playable framerate.

God could you just like, stop with the botw hate already?

So how many fucking shelves and furniture do you have full of games and adapters and cables and memory cards that you used once this year?
How much space does this ridiculous apparatus take? 25% of the room? 40% of the entire fucking room?

Do you really need to be surrounded with 49 boxes of games you're not playing while playing one game?
Do you really need to be surrounded with 5 consoles you're not using while playing one?

>Oh no I keep them tidy and separate
Yeah I bet it takes you 10 minutes of opening and closing drawers before you can play a single game of Miss Pac Man on your SNES.

It takes me like 3 seconds to open the emulator. I have no shit gathering dust lying around. My consoles are in boxes ready to be sold or carried to a friend's house.

Your setup is inferior to mine, messy, dirty, busy, cumbersome, slow to use and impractical.

Agreed.

FPGA >= original hardware.

Much like consolefags themselves.

Not having shitty equipment all around your house like an autistic faggot < being a normie with a comp

I see I'm like an overlord towering over insects, in a wasteland of idiocy.
Enjoy playing in your slime idiots, reason itself has left this thread.

Also, your filthy neckbeard caves are embarrassing and useless. You'll see the inside of your coffin before you boot up some of those games AND YOU KNOW IT.

This is the face of autismos who will never experience accurate color, no input latency, intended aspect ratios, and dynamic resolutions. Enjoy your secondhand scraps, poorfag

You had your chance at getting your hands on good emulation but “le ebin master race” had to shoot itself in the foot

1993 called, they make a/v switchboxes now.

Call me when they can do s-video

How much do those cost?
Are they easy to set up?

You should be using an RF connector, s-video's fidelity is too high.

$449 for an NES

Hello poorfag

Sorry sweetie

I need one of these, but for SCART.
Got my PS2, N64, SNES, and GameCube wired up for RGB, but it's a pain in the ass swapping the leads everytime. Shame SCART switchboxes cost like $200.

Attached: 1434396169830.jpg (576x576, 273K)

I bought an intec av switcher from a game store for like $7

S-Video or Composite?

An unopened OG NES is 250.
This one outputs rgb component and hdmi.
analogue said that more than half of the price is the analog equipment required to output those signals. Its the reason why they dropped analog support on the super NT

You spent the time, money, and effort getting that shit all together, but you didn't bother buying the thing to make it all way more convenient to use? Sounds like you need some priorities readjustment

Attached: 1513470350261.webm (720x480, 2.91M)

S-video easily for me. Check this comparison from reddit

Attached: ALTTP.jpg (2792x3408, 2.89M)

Although I agree that's it's nice to play on the original hardware, for convenience I prefer to use emulators. Plus it's like "free" if there a particular game you don't own and want to play

Yeah I know.
It'll probably be the thing I buy next. It's just hard to justify $200 (~$250 after shipping and getting a new output cable) when the job is currently accomplished just by me getting off my ass for 5 seconds and unplugging/plugging in cables.

>straining your neck to look up at tiny as fuck CRT screens on top of a dresser of all things

For 3D stuff, I'd rather emulate, but original hardware with a CRT is preferable for 2D games.

Holy fuck

>Original hardware > Emulator
Of course, but when its a fuck ton cheaper to emulate it, who's gonna bother besides the purest

>Can't move a 30" CRT on his own just fine

fucking based
Sup Forums is really becoming the icon board

the only shitty retro people are the ones who have to be elitist about all of their gear.

Thank you captain obvious.

I know we like to joke around on Sup Forums, but trust me, you can't move a 30" Trinitron just fine on your own.

Really? I can't stand the way N64 and PSX emulation look on a PC and/or on an LCD. Maybe because it's not what I remember from childhood but it just looks fake to me. Not to mention N64 emulation is just total garbage.

thats objectively wrong, especially for gamecube, ishiiruka pretty much guarantees a higher resolution and stable fps, and 360 controller is better than gamecube (though you can also get an adapter)

Not him but I moved a 27 inch trinitron by myself just a couple days ago

It wasn’t that hard, you just have to get a good squat to pick it up

I have, hurt like helll.
I have two of those mother fuckers for the gaming room I’m making

Attached: image.jpg (4032x3024, 2.77M)

It's the same shit.

Definitely true for F-Zero GX. Most machines shart their soul out if they try and emulate the heat effects on Sand Ocean. Thankfully you can toggle effects like that on and off as a whole in Dolphin, but still.

>Xbox and Dreamcast connected to a CRT
>Genesis on Xbox despite the Xbox not being a horizontal surface

>i will sacrifice general clean textures for a novelty effect that shows up twice in the worst genesis sonic game

I'm sorry about your eyes. It looks dramatically different in that pic, and even moreso in person.

Emulation is nice because handhelds have limited life and the buttons will eventually stop working, so it's nice to re-play the game on emulators in order to not waste the original hardware. I do it like this, play game once in original hardware, re-play on emulators.

Also forgot to mention that the button layout on Gamecube works so much better than an XBox or PS controller. Boost on Y doesn't work at all for those whereas it makes perfect sense on GC. Thankfully the game has built-in control bindings, but it's still awkward no matter how you set it up unless you go into Dolphin's controller settings and slap one of the face buttons on left front shoulder (LB/R1).

Enjoy your 5000 cords and display made in the stoneage.

Go away PC lard
Enjoy being a mustard cause you will never ketchup to Consoles.

I really dig those cib nes and snes games. Nice.

They cost closer to 30€ new you fucking tool.

I just checked and mine's 37".
Nearly killed me and my dad moving that thing.
Just don't let battery acid corrode the thing and the buttons should last forever.
And if you did let dead batteries sit in there, it's easy enough to clean and usually fixes the problem.

enjoy an unauthentic experience

I remember moving a 36" samsung a couple times back in the day and it was a heavy mf.

It's too bad CRTs are seen as obsolete tech seeing as how they excel above and beyond LCD displays in virtually every single regard outside of their bulkiness

It's because the average consumer is as retarded as the person you replied to.

>enjoy a superior experience
Fixed that for you nostalgiafag.

I like how people post PVMs or whatever the fuck as if they were what the standard owned and watched TV on.

this, I revived a game boy just this month where the only problem was that the contacts were too corroded for the system to get power. 10 minutes to take them out and soak them in vinegar, leave in overnight and they're good as new.

This, was at my parent's house watching a movie with them and the 'black bars' on the letterboxing were more like a muddy grey, it was distracting after looking at my CRT for so long.

This is what I dislike about CRT scene, but it comes with anything, there's always gonna be people that love to jerk off about their superior experience. I'm just a guy who appreciates watching TV and playing games on the hardware it was made for, composite and all.

When it comes to classic shit I would rather play on the shittiest CRT than the best LCD. If LCD was my only way to play some of these games I'd rather not play them at all, and I'm serious

Really butters those brain cells.

Claps should be going for PVMs for RGB support they never had. PAL areas have it easier as almost all CRTs have 50/60 hz support and RGB SCART built in, and you don't have to spend time searching or money buying specialist equipment. Add in the fact that you need to resync your PVM when changing systems and the normal PAL CRT really becomes the most balanced option.

Oh, and the whole cancer thing

You get shittons of more radiation from the sun than a CRT screen you drooling retard.

>implying CRTs aren't a dime a dozen at every goodwill in the nation
Lmao

Are you serious or is this an elaborate shitpost?

>FPGA
Guys, stop treating FPGAs like the second coming of Yokoi. An FPGA or ASIC is still only as good as it's implementation. What really needs to be done is all of these consoles have to have all of their chips decapped and scanned with an electron microscope for perfect transistor level accuracy. Then *any* implementation, be it hardware or software, will be a 100% accurate reproduction of the original machine. But unfortunately that process is fucktardedly expensive.

well, dose it?

>dime a dozen
diamond dozen IDIOT

>ywn own a CRT that uses diamonds to focus the electron beams, eventually burning through the screen and blasting RGB-colored holes through you
Why even live?

Name some games to play.
