I used to have a World of Warcraft YouTube account that had about 2,500 subscribers back in its earliest days, which was an assload, so I got to be one of the first to get into Google's Ad Sense program (which was horrible operated at the time and complete garbage).
I used to be in a leading position on a WoW private server and was paid monthly, roughly a little more than minimum wage.
Aside from that, I haven't tried much any RMT. It's just not fun for me, making money aside. You have to keep in mind that, once you get to such a point, unless your fun derives from the process and result of what gets you cash, turning a video game into a job will kill your hobby and interest wholly.
