Good skyrim combat mods?

There probably aren't any good ones but there's attack anim replaces. I don't know I haven't looked for years

uninstall.exe

been modding the fuck out of my skyrim for the past week or so. currently looking forward to trying Ultimate Combat, as it's basically the only combat mod that doesn't amount to "everything drains stamina and every attack staggers" and nothing else. It adds new attacks for various enemies (like humans, draugr, giants, and automatons) and adds a dodging feature which can be used by both the player and npcs. TK Hitstop could also be employed to make it feel a bit less like you're just swinging at air. Some sound mods could also make it feel different in a more subtle way.

noice recs, will try

a couple other things I should mention: there's another mod called Combat Evolved that's meant to compliment other combat mods, making NPCs more diverse and careful in combat, as well as making them utilize new features more often. another mod to use if you're looking for difficulty is called ASIS. What it does is essentially make NPCs really fight for their lives, making them utilize various things like racial powers and a wider variety of perks and spells. it also makes them change how they fight depending on the current situation. iirc it could also be set up to allow them to use spells that are newly added by other mods.

Wildcat and Character Behavior Enhanced are the only ones you'll need. Other combat mods just add more bloat and clunkiness to an already clunky combat. You can't really fix the weapon hitbox and other core properties of the combat, the game isn't open source.

okay I know I'm being autistic BUT, itty bitty little details that aren't there cuz I posted too quickly: when I say Combat Evolved makes enemies "more careful" it means they block more often and are more likely to take advantage of you letting your guard down. another prominent thing the mod does it make it such that groups of enemies will work together more aggressively, sometimes even surrounding you, instead of just standing around watching their mates get beaten over the head with hunks of metal.

Requiem

Play Fallout New Vegas instead

Well, you can make Skyrim a wambam dark souls game with a few mods
Dual parry
Ultimate dodge mod
Duel combat
Ordinator
Wildcat
And skytweak to make further adjustments, for instance I usually increase the regen on stamina about 30 % baseline.

Do you mean Skyrim Behavior Organizer? That's all I can find and it seems to have been in alpha since 2015.

These are the core mods to my set up, combat mods usually play around with combat behavior and ai but I’ve found the best mods are the ones that turn AI aggressiveness and combat frequency to max. This means that bandit chiefs will block and bash you, they will attack relentlessly when there is an opportunity, and overall they will act “smarter”. You’ll probably want some visual enhancement like enhanced blood textures, tk hitstop, and some 3rd person animations like mofu 1 hand or w/e you prefer

That’s a good mod for combat , it’s unfinished though

There’s like maybe 3 decent ones, enhanced animations, oriental swordsman, and beastly greatsword

The Ordinator mods are all pretty good. I would use Ordinator Perks at the very least. It adds a nice variety of powers and passive effects that make the game more interactive and rewarding, making it feel more worth it to invest in skills. It even reworks some of the useless trees (speech now relates with dragon shouts, alteration has effects to bolster other spells, lockpicking lets you lay down bear traps and fucking hotwire dwemer automatons) to open up even more variety.

The mod page doesn't actually tell me what it does so I'm hesitant to download it.

>Skyrim Behavior Organizer?
Yes that one, it allows you to attack while in the air.

>ASIS
does ASIS do that for NPCs by default or do you need to fiddle with the AI

anything Enai does is top tier

>it allows you to attack while in the air

That's it? Why would I want that?

Never should have not pre-ordered Fallout 4!

unfortunately, the patcher wasn't compatible with one thing or another, so I never really tried it. if it's any similar to other patchers I've used, it either has a good set of default settings, fiddling with the AI might not be too bad (could even amount to just checking/unchecking boxes), or both.

What's the current state of Oldrim vs Special Edition? How is SKSE64 and mod selection for SE now? Is it time to migrate?

not enough porn mods have ported, so oldrim has that edge imo

Defeat

I already spoonfed you enough you absolute cretin.

No point in SSE. Oldrim looks better with ENB.

If you plan on using any mods that add a dodging mechanic, it might be a good idea to use the Attack Commitment mod in conjunction with them. It makes both you and NPCs unable to turn quickly while swinging a weapon, so there's no more heat-seeking melee attacks and dodging is more profitable. It's actually a little bit like Dark Souls, if you're into that.

>Is it time to migrate?
XP32 and Netimmerse Override haven't been ported yet so no unless you want a vanilla experience with some fixes.

Every fucking time

get yourself into guro & install some violence and dismemberment mods and you could get your rocks off for DAYS

save a backup of your install + saves zipped up on a high cap thumbstick

Ultimate combat is good, just be sure to disable that option where it freezes the game for half a second when you do a perfect block.
I thought I had installed too many mods and that I was getting script lag but it turns out it was an option that comes on by default.

good shit. cheers, user

Just mod every weapon to be a pool noodle and the combat will be 1:1 perfect.

>oriental swordsman
This one is horrible, your character is sliding all over the place. If you want weebshit get Mofu.

Immersive Creatures could liven things up a little bit. If you don't like the exactly lore-friendly things like rieklings or cliffracers in Skyrim, there's options for disabling certain enemy spawns (or alternatively relocating them to solstheim when appropriate).

While the Monster Mod looks quite promising, I'd have to advise against getting it. It might have some cool-looking shit, but I think it only starts showing up at later levels (that is if my testing is accurate). Not only that, but it has some lore-unfriendly and frankly quite silly things (like a goddamn triceratops and great white sharks and shit). There's no real built-in filters for it that don't also take out some cool shit, but the filters that I found (made by other people) are shit and just replace them with weird enemies. For example, the Guars added by the Monster Mod act like tiny werewolves with low HP. The Guar filter just replaces them actual tiny werewolves without the model replacement. Something else to note that is that it adds young variants of animals (like sabre cat and bear cubs), which is fine in theory, but they're just the exact same sabre cats and bears with the same adult proportions that have been scaled down way too much. Fuckin sucks.

the exactly lore-unfriendly* things like rieklings...

fuck me I need to learn to type

Oh please, that's just skyrim with guns and better writing.

A-any good ones on ps4? Pls no bully

>delete the game
Well there's your problem. You could just leave alone until you feel like fapping again. I doubt you need the disk space.

They were trying to grab your prize.

if you like staggering, ps4 has Wildcat. Ordinator Perks and Apocalypse Magic are also there. From what I can tell, there aren't many other prevalent combat mods for ps4 (could be wrong, but hey here's my 2 shekels)

>tfw wanted to setup skyrim again today

There's a little x in the corner of your screen user. That's all it takes. We'll be here when you get back.

anyone got some combat sound mod reccomendations?

if you'd like to generally have new sounds and forget about it, the Immersive Sounds Compendium is a good choice. While having new replacement sounds, it also adds new sounds for different shield impacts based on the weapon used, different footstep sounds based on the material being walked on, and heavy armor that audibly rustles as you walk, run, and jump. While all of the defaults are quite good, there's also a large amount of different options during installation, so it's quite customizable to fit one's tastes. However, it should be said that the only real way to fine-tune it to one's tastes would be to manually go into the game and test all of the different options, as there's no footage comparing the different options as far as I can tell.

I'll mention it since the way I spun this makes it sound like it only does melee combat and the footsteps & armor: the ISC pretty much covers everything. Like I said, it's both good if you want to "set it and forget it" and if you want to fine-tune it a little bit.

enderal isn't compatible with special edition so oldrim still better

imagine unironically playing enderal

Quite a few mods work right now, ported a couple by myself and am doing a play-through to test out, no major issues that I have seen so far, some 60 hours in, what we're missing is an official port of Zaz, then most mods will work without much trouble.

Killable children

Is Requiem 2.0 any good?

im into ryona and its really really nice
