Jiren put the last of his energy into an attack against 17 and Frieza, Goku comes in and adds his energy allowing them to survive the blast, 17, Frieza and Goku then team up to beat Jiren, Frieza and Goku fight together to knock him out with them, 17 last one left standing. 17 wishes for all the erased universes to be restored and then El Grande Padre reveals if any other wish was made they would have been erased as well. Whis grants Frieza his wish of resurrection and goes on to meet with the remnants of his army. Goku cannot seem to activate Ultra Instinct again.

The tournament was a test to see if mortals were selfish or not. 17 chose to restore the other universes and zeno was happy about it.

Like most things in DBZ, they could have actually beaten the enemy if they didn't try to be dramatic. Ultra Instinct gave out like five seconds too early and Goku exploded a little.

God, despite all of the issues with Super, it still managed to hit hard when it needed to, and I fully enjoyed it.
There are a LOT of episodes I wouldn't rewatch, but the good ones were genuinely great. Takahashi knocking it out of the park with his animation work too, loved it.

The story is more nonsensical than GT because they go to literal god tier heights, but the actual show itself is still better than most of GT.

I'd watch the Beerus movie and the Frieza movie, then just skip to the Zamasu arc.

I feel like dragonball super attracted a lot of people that barely watched anime as a kid besides freiza arc, a couple of naruto vs sasuke AMV, and maybe 1 or 2 episodes of an anime on toonami only to come back to dragonball super calling it the show with amazing animation and good writing.

Alot of this is problems with shounen in general but Jiren is an egregiously uninteresting mary sue. Also why does he feel like he has less power in these last episodes. Who couldnt have predicted goku defeating jiren but goku succumbing to UI last minute, only to be about to be killed, only to be saved, only for jiren to be defeated and universes reset.

It's terrifically horrifyingly by the numbers and boring. majin vegeta vs goku , tien in dragonball, teen gohan vs cell, super buu vs everyone were so much better.
