Posting from my Chuwi hi12 right now. Have had it for 4 days and am a big fan so far. Battery life is good (though charging through usb is fucking dumb). Windows runs well and android is fast as he'll, though wifi is acting funky today. Kodi is running great also. The screen is beautiful to boot. All in all pretty happy
that's nice to hear, I'm thinking about orderong a Hi10 or Hibook.
Thinking of getting a Windows tablet for manga and anime and visual novels...
What is the best image viewer for reading manga on Windows? Tap or swipe to go to the next page is a must. Going to the next chapter in thr directory would be nice too...
I have a pro 3
I have never used it as a tablet
Oh, I'll check those out. Thanks
I use the Batato website for my manga.
I use Comics++ on my Venue 8 Pro, no complaints. It's UI is very touch focused, swipe to change pages, pinch zoom, etc. Remembers your spot when re-launching, has bookmarks, and all the other features you'd expect from a comic reader.
I like my Surface Pro 3 for notes
>more expensive
>shitty screen reso
>2 gb ram
eh i rather buy a surface than that shit
>Chuwi Hi8
Pretty OK for tablet activities (watching stuff, games, etc) but Windows 10 gets worse as time goes on though as many of the updates fail. It also has super-shitty battery life so you're tethered to a wall (and you'll need a nice charger or it'll just slow down the battery drain). Oh, and the screen tops out at 50Hz so things don't look all that smooth on the Android side.
It can handle PS4 Remote Play (540p@60Hz) and Xbox streaming (on Med) though, so there's that.
Surface: $900
Nextbook: $120
bump
Iv got a Linx 8inch windows tablet. Cost me £60 its great for browsing on the swanny.
How's the surface pro ? I've heard it's buggy and has a shit battery life
Iconia tab a500 here. 10-100% in under 2 hours. Good battery life. Updated to jellybean 4.1.2, performance is pretty shit but it has a micro SD AND full sized USB port so it's pretty nice to use. Camera is horse shit. I refuse to move on thanks to the usb port though.
Would love it if it got a modern refresh, would pay ~250 aud for it
Use it for ebooks and movies currently. Battery life is ~9 hours SoT.
i rather buy a decent product that some low spec piece of shit, regardless of where it was made
mistake or you gimped that shit?
Surface 3.
Works fucking great as a drawing tablet with perfect tip calibration, there's some jitter issues if you draw really slow lines, doesn't affect me since I do really fast strokes. Pressure levels are low at 256 levels, but in my experience it still responds better than the 1024 level Wacom-powered Surface Pro 1 I had previously.
It's meh as a laptop, garbage as a general purpose (ipad-like) tablet.
The keyboard is decent with a definite click with each keypress, the trackpad is super-responsive and accurate, but it's way too fucking small.
Battery life is very decent and I can charge it with any 2A powerbank when out and about.
It is a bit optimistic but with brightness turned down, wifi, off, battery saver on, and only Onenote running I've seen it lose about 6-7% every hour
Might as well get an ASUS Transformerbook.
I had a pro 2 and it was not buggy at all (other than mediocre palm rejection on windows 10) but the battery life suffered. It was ok at best.
SP3 owner here, was buggy at first but updates fixed, battery life is great though unless you use Chrome
Power Saving mode really helps on the Surface Pro 1 & 2, have you tried that?
(4 hours increased to 5.5 hours on my Surface Pro 1)
All in ones are a massive fucking meme. Seriously don't buy a Surface Pro or any kind of copy, you will regret it so much. I was given one to use for work and after about two weeks I reverted to using the shitty old laptop I used before it because the Pro is so shit. It has been sat in my work desk drawer untouched for like 6 months now.
Nice points you have there
No, Android tablets are the true shitty memes. iPad for casual web browsing (because there's no apps worth a shit), so that leaves Windows winning by default, but for the love of god, get a Windows tablet with Active stylus support.
Using my Android tablet right now. It's pretty good.
Soz for shit quality, phone sucks at low light.
Tablets are a meme overall, Android support is shit, Windows is bloat city, and iPads are overpriced as fuck. I guess I shouldn't be in this thread but I don't see the point in tablets at all. I have a laptop and a phone, tablets try to be a middle ground and completely fall at being useful. A tablet/laptop is obviously going to be shit because it's just compromising again.
Sadly it's z8300 shit tier slowness :(
Sorry you can't get an X86 tablet running Gentoo
Teclast p70. It looks like old samshit tablet, but it's a decent tablet for its price (around 80 bucks or so)
>7" IPS screen, 720p resolution
>octacore mtk8392 chip, 1gb ram
>scores about 33k on antutu benchmark
>stock android 4.4
>3g connection, can make phone call (which looks dumb, but still makes for a good backup phone)
>roughly 5 hours SoT
>expandable storage(up to 32gb)
Fuck off with your shitty bait.
Surface Pro 4 and it feels great senpai
Full power apps like Clip Studio for drawing smut, real gaymin via steam, can run vm's of win 7 for eroge all day, facial recognition for fast login.
And thanks to Windows 10 Pro Telemetry edition Microcuck has enough pictures of my dick to 3D print their own copy.
Feeeeels niiiiice~
iPad pro 9.7 is objectively the best tablet i the market right now
>perfect size
>retina(tm) screen, best looking in the market
>actually has good and useful tablet optimized apps
>Android barely has any tablet apps, most are just stretched phone apps
>Windows should be used with a mouse and keyboard, its useless as a tablet. Windows store apps are even bigger joke
>dat true tone (tm) display for ultimate comfyness (that is what all tablet are about)
>beast A9X SoC so its piratically future proof
>best pen support for drawing in the market if you're into that
>just werks, doesn't lag
>updates forever
>best build quality, good looking
etc
Don't be a poorfag and settle for less.
forgot pic
The only problem with the surface are the the applications that aren't optimazed for high ppi and touchscreen
>ARM over x86
There are so many better things I could do with the money I save by not buying an iPad
Most programs I've used scale just fine, I really only ran into problems with obscure shit and Steam not wanting to follow Microsoft's UI guidelines
Like what the fuck, Valve? May as well not even have a touchscreen
Their mobile app sucks ass too
Pretty much this. If I was going to buy an arm tablet, I'd buy an Android for a quarter the price. IPads are a waste of money.
The biggest problem I had was with VLC,all the buttons size are like 3x3mm and the version on the windows store sucks hard.
Welcome to the future grandpa. A9X sends regards.
Not really. Any comparable tablets with the same specs will cost you the same. And iPads, like any apple product, have almost zero depreciation. So you can always resell for almost the same price. That's the opposite of wast of money.
Can confirm that these are great. Price/performance is unbeatable. One of the best purchases I have made.
>comparable
Arm is shit. Why waste money on an iPad when I can buy a cheaper arm tablet that'll still give plenty performance for my uses?
I don't care about resell value, I use it till it dies, then I upgrade.
Are you telling me a cheap android won't be good enough for web browsing, video playback, documents, and ebooks?
I thought VLC was a lost cause, but then I learned that the desktop version has touch and gesture support
>2 finger tap to play/pause
>swipe back and forward to jump by 10 seconds
Sorry but x86 has managed to reduce its power usage faster than ARM can up it's processing capabilities, see the Zenfone 2
Also
>caring so much about processor power in a fucking tablet
Do you really need all that power to play fucking Clash? Or is it to render webpages with Safari's shitty engine they shove onto everyone?
Posting from a t100HA
Extremely impressed, the keyboard is 10" but they have great travel and can easily write a few paragraphs, even has a menu key. Hate that the pgup/dwn, home/end buttons are on the arrows, plus only one fn-key with is on the right
Screen is very bright and vibrant, but 1280x800 is the res :(, not that much of a bother, really. I still read numerous books and wikis on this thing no problem. Just don't take it in direct sunlight because It's horrible in SL.
what more can I ask of it's speed at $270? I browse, play hearthstone, risk of rain, stream fm15 on steam, and chromecast webpages with html5 video on a regular and have no complains
volume and power keys are hard, it also has 2 cams (back one is decent), mini hdmi, micro usb (for charging), 2.5 mm, sdcard slot and usb-c
charging doesn't take long with the stock/fast charger, otherwise it takes like 12 hours. Battery, btw is the highlight of this imo; I get like 11/9 hours (mild use/sot) on this thing
Trackpad is decent. One thing I don't like about this thing is that it sometimes hangs when coming from sleep or the power button is sometimes tricky to press. This happens like 1/9 times every other day.
Fine by me if you want to settle for laggy shit
And like I said, the fact the processor is so good means the tablet will last you for as long as you like, specially since apple will keep updating it with the latest features.
True tone display alone sold it for me.
For real though, really enjoying the iPad Pro as a sketching tablet.
>Apple updates
>last you as long as you like
That's when you gave yourself away, ruseman
are you a fucking idiot? Are there really apple shills on Sup Forums? Fucking hell.
m8, i bet you've never used a cherrytrail or baytrail tablet
>implying it doesn't
That's when you gave yourself away, jelly poorfag
What is that? A fucking windows tablet?
haha good joke mane
>tfw still using my Android tablet from 2011
>tfw still no lag
>tfw no face
>Applefag's only argument ever is calling others poor
>at the same time they worry about resale value
>$1000 ARM tablet
Jesus fuck, I could rebuild the soft top for my car with that money, or do a complete suspension overhaul
>>at the same time they worry about resale value
I'm not not worried.
I'm just not stupid to pay a lot money for something that looses all its value as soon as I open it.
Yes its laggy. Compared to an iPad its very very laggy
It's okay, his parents like spoiling him with all the latest apple shit
>compared to an iPad
Have you done a side by side comparison? Could you upload the video?
Thanks.
So may as well get one of those Thinkpad tablets that can't lose its value anymore, it's probably even more useful
Good grief, what a world we live in
top delusion
why would I buy a windows tablet though?
Because it's a real computer and not an overpriced toy for manchildren?
honestly, repoted.
Your fucking trolling had degraded a potentially good discussion
go back to school, if you're really not trolling.
God
>z8300
The Cherry Trail series for Atoms aren't bad at all. They outperform some Celerons
>no lag
>but laggy when compared to an iPad
APPLE SHILLING EVERYONE.
You sound like you spent too much on a product and don't want to be the only one who fell for a meme.
An iPad is overpriced and garbage. If I'm limited to a mobile os I'd rather something functional like android
don't ok? don't
A9X chips perform nearly the same as an i3/i5.
If mods actually gave a shit Apple stuff would be treated like MLP on Sup Forums
Except it doesn't
can attest
though z8500 runs dolphin really well
...
>A9X
>ARM
Are you fucking retarded?
i really like it
but i think i would rather wait and see if they make a mini version i was in BB the other day and comparing this thing tot he 12.5 pro was ridiculous , the 12.5 is ridiculously huge this feels good in comparison but i still like smaller tabs
also i will need jailbreak or it's a dealbreaker especially now since youtube removed background play , it used to just always work in IOS till this red shit , i didn't even update the app and now it don't work anymore
God, never thought of this
glorious idea user
reported
Bay trail here. I'm satisfied, t100ta.
Only issue is Linux support.
z8300 is still shitload slower than z8500
aye senpai I had one too
now i have a t100ha
>a real computer
My real computer is a notebook. I dont need another one in the form of a poorly optimized tablet.
Nice arguments kid
Do cool kid in you school use ipads? Thats why you hate apple
I have a Surface book (stock model) and I fucking love it.
I love the design, it's fast, and I actually use the tablet portion a lot. I also like to handwrite notes so that's nice.
It's a steep price if you're looking for a tablet, but as an ultrabook it's pretty darn cool, not terribly light though.
If it does something 3 times slower than something else I think its fair to call it laggy
Nice, those are great tablets.
Yeah I know but the X5 Atom series in general is great.
>Do cool kid in you school use ipads? Thats why you hate apple
>Do cool kid
>wccftech.com
Clearly not the desktop parts, but the lower end mobile chips you filthy mouthbreathers. A9X is then clearly superior to your disgusting plebian atoms.
>I actually use the tablet portion a lot
How do you deal with the 2 hour battery life?
>X5 Atom series in general is great.
too bad atom is kill...
hope they innovate the fuck out of core m, though
>benchmark
my perception of you is evolving
Battery life is amazing. Used to get 2 hours on my old laptop, now I'm getting 12 hours.
If my 5 year old acer does things only 3 times slower than your iPad that you claim is as powerful as an i5, then that's all the more reason not to buy the stupid iPad.
>Geekbench
Ctrl + W so hard
cube i7 stylus here.
It's nice enough, but the coreM only really comes into it's own when you improve the heatsink. I'm converted to fully passive cooling and ssds when it comes to portable computers now. Shoddy battery life though. I normally just leave it in the keyboard dock, which I think is better than the fabric board covers
Keeping the brightness low helps. But usually I just cart it around the house or bring my charger with me if I am just bringing the tablet portion.
Honestly though, it hasn't been a problem for me since if I'm using it as a tablet I'm constantly turning it on and off. But it definitely shows that Microsoft was really going more for an ultrabook that can be a tablet sometimes rather that a tablet that barely has the computing power to be an ultrabook.
You shouldn't believe everything you read online, it can get confusing when you're this retarded
a few people don't know this but background apps really fuck up battery life
search for it and disable the ones you don't use
my that's transformer book for you, my ha get about the same
ASUS is doing wonder rn
I would definitely buy one right now if I had money
Windows tablets are more useful, but Windows just simply doesn't work in tablet mode. And if I already have a notebook why would you need another windows machine?
The way I see it, tablets need mobile OS, they are not supposed to do heavy productivity work, they are supposed to be comfortable. And the iPad is just the king in that. Is fast, smooth and just werks.
Android does have a file system but I never use it thb, and its not like you cant work around that. Online storage exits.
Posted from my shitty LG tablet
>this much projection
ugh, summer is truly near
Xiaomi Mi pad 2 m.youtube.com
I'm sending it back this week though the flickering screen is doing my head in.
Posting from my $40 Amazon Fire Kindle. It's perfect for my needs.
Pro 3 owner (i7, 8GB RAM, 512GB)
Pro's:
>Full windows 8.1, runs all muh programs as capably as my desktop
>Good screen, very nice to use
>Good battery
>Good pen, very useful for quick hybrid operation in 'laptop' mode (much faster than using trackpad)
>USB 3.0 port is super handy
>MicroSD slot for extra storage if you're too poor or autistic to spend out on the bigger SSD
Cons:
>Audio driver and/or hardware is shit and 'pops' on the 3.5mm output when switching applications
>Gets hot and noisy fan under heavy load (no different to my rMBP which does exactly the same)
>Most aftermarket cases/sleeves are shit and make it 2x big and heavy, also fucks with the cooling
>Can't disable the stupid purple Onenote shortcut button on the end of the pen, always fucks my shit up when I accidently press it
>Pen doesn't attach/store
>Pro 3 typecover sucks compared to Pro 4
>Windows scaling is shit so some software UI is super tiny
>Rarely use it as an actual tablet
This is very obviously a shill post.
Try harder.
Instead of posting memes post some evidence to support your claim. I think its a fair assessment to say for tablet applications, the a9 will nearly give you x86 performance. Furthermore, the entire iPad package is just a better option than some cheap chinese shit/poorfag android tablet.
