What do you think of nexus devices?

What do you think of nexus devices?

What do you want from the next line of nexus devices?

Wired straight into the botnet

Best phones out there if you throw all the Google Botnet shit from it

>using android
>complaining about google botnet
It's even on the AOSP.

I own Nexus 5, today power button died.
>GOOGLE

It lost its way some time ago.

The only thing it has going for it is that it actually gets upstream updates, but even then they've really started to limit how long that is.

I'd like these features back first:
>removable battery
>microSD card
>NFC
>unlocked to SIM
>unlockable bootloader, of course

Then let's add:
>a low price
>a long battery life
>wireless charging
>not too big
>updates for 5 years

And of course:
>USB-C

Maybe even a camera that isn't shit, but I don't want to ask for the unreasonable.

Pointless now. Much better devices can be found at a lower price. The only thing they are good for is custom roms.

Rebuild the nexus 5 with a snapdragon 650 and 4600mAh battery.

SD slot would be nice too.

Also this. They stopped being friends budget flagship after the nexus 5.

5x has almost all of those except for the obvious removable battery, SD card and qi charging. Battery life is comparable to any 2015 flagship.

After being on samshit for 5 years and borrowing a friend's Nexus 6 for a few weeks after he upgraded to a 6P I'm jumping off the bloatjizz train and getting on the stock android train for a long time.

I'm well aware. I was looking out for that and was sorely disappointed.

The lack of removable battery is something I absolutely cannot compromise on: pulling the battery is the only path to actually turn these SoCs off, and do a hard reset, past any hypervisor crashes/SoC errata locks.

Of course, they don't actually make Nexus phones for developers anymore.

>What do you think of nexus devices?
They're good. The only Android phones that I would use. I have a Nexus 4 and I like it a lot. Switched from an iPhone 4s to this.

Nexus devices are perfect. Nexus 5 is for phones like Windows XP was for operating systems.

They all belong in the trash. Except like that 1 that has a micro sd slot.

Since when?

This. If an android phone lacks a mSD slot then it's an abomination in my eyes.

I'm curious as well, but if you think about it's not inconceivable. It's not unlike Google's special relationship with Chromium.

I like the idea of actually getting OS updates in a timely fashion, and continuing to get them long after other devices of the same time period have died

I do not like sacrificing battery life and expandable storage to do so

>nigga but what do you want
a 5", OLED, >3000mah phone with a 128gb internal option. Also, no matter how good the sensor is, the camera has to have OIS.

Too much Google.

the tinfoil argument for removable batteries is that it's the only way to stop everyone from tracking you through your phone

Based Purity. Have you tried Purity 6.0 yet? Is it any good?

I have a nexus 4. Still runs superb. Only reason to upgrade would be for a higher quality camera but I don't really care seeing as I'm not some snapchat freak.

The only reason I upgraded from the 4 is because it doesn't get updates anymore.

Ok, Google (while the phone is off) and fingerprint to wake/unlock were totally worth it though.

What are you using now senpai?

5x

>no microsd slot
cuck

>needs to carry 100GB of anime porn every time he goes to his dad's house

Thanks for sharing your life with us, user

The fact that they are the only Android phones that get decent support is depressing, because they have important shortcomings you can't avoid if you want timely security updates for example (no microSD slot, no removable battery, overpriced outside the US...).

I saw the 5x going for $240 the other day.
SD cards aren't important for like 95% of people.

>SD cards aren't important for like 95% of people.
Yes they are. This is a large reason why people are abandoning apple in masse. Phones without microsd slots are fucking cancer upon this earth. And so are you :3

If you ask the average Android user what an sd card is he won't even know, nice try though.

>bought nexus 7 2012 in april 2013
>slow as fuck in le current year

however, my tablet got updates of over 2 years
So support is good, but the shit can last for more 18 months

Rekt

N7 2012 was bad at launch. That's why they replaced it so quickly.

I've tried other phones but could barely last a week. Nexus phones are just better.

Nexus devices are the only real Android devices IMO. Google pushes security updates to Nexus devices immediately, while Samsung and LG (etc) get updates months later or not at all.

There's a 2016 N7 coming pretty soon.

I got a Nexus 7 because I saw Sup Forums recommend it so often. I hate it. Lags on almost everything, especially browsers. Constantly wants to be updated, but every time I do update it, it gets stuck on the Google logo, so I have to wipe it. This is actually my 2nd one, the first one had the same issue, so I was able to return it for a new one. I don't really have a positive view of them.

I had the N5 for a while, liked it but it had build quality issues. LG wasn't making very good hardware back then. The screen was great, it was fast for its time and the battery was OK.

I have the 128 GB N6P now. It's perfect. Great build quality, the batt lasts me 2 days and the screen and speed are top notch. Also am on Project Fi which is saving me $70 a month on wireless.

I'd like a Nexus 4 the size of a G3 with whatever the CPU of the month is. The glass back and pattern was really nice and what sold me on it.

I didn't like it. SoT went down from 3.5 hours to 2.5 hours. Not sure if that's all marshmallow roms or just purity, but I'm content on 5.1

I own the Nexus 6. Other than its huge and button placement the phone is great.

>Wireless charging
There is literally no point to wireless charging. It is slower, and you still need a dock to charge it.

This tripfag literally posts in every thread.

Until wireless charging catches up with fast charging (I'm talking almost 80% in forty five minutes), the slight convenience is never going to trump faster charge times.

If Jewgle would allow SD cards, otherwise fuck no.

I like them.
