I'm trying to get pictures off my broken iphone. It wont enter DFU mode, and when its plugged in it just shows the apple logo, shuts off, and repeats indefinitely. I have Wondershare Dr. Fone, but that's not doing it because I can't enter DFU mode. My PC is detecting it, based on the connection noise, but it's not popping up as an iphone in my explorer.
Anyone have any advice?

Give it back, Tyrone.

take it to the apple store

Last time I went to the only one in my state (RI) and they fucked around and bricked my phone. Is photo retrieval from a dead phone a service they offer? If so I will make the trip, I don't have much more to lose here.

fbi.gov/contact might be able to help you.

It seems your battery is kaput.

What you have to do is open it up, extract the battery, and wire the AC power lines straight to the battery connectors, so the iphone thinks it is getting power from the battery when it isn't.

An iphone won't power on if power doesn't go through the battery, even if all other components are good to go.

I have the passcode but this phone is essentially a brick

You're photos are fucked but I'll help you recover the device. Seems like this is a user error.

In the picture, the yellow is a normal boot. The red is DFU boot. When an iPhone starts up, the first thing to run is the SecureROM. This will initialize the SoC as well as decrypt and load one of two images. These are the LLB and DFU images. If you can see an Apple logo, the LLB was successfully decrypted and loaded. This means that your problem is higher up in the bootchain somewhere in the iBoot. That's great because you can fix it by reflashing a stock firmware. Unless you were jailbroken and deleted the DFU file or found some magical way to royally fuck the NOR partition and zero out the baseband and all, DFU should still be accessible.

>make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed

>plug the phone into your computer with the charge cable

>hold home and power until the screen goes black

>when the screen is totally black, release the power button and keep holding home until it connects, installs drivers, etc.

>click restore and wait

>don't touch it unless you want to start over

After the restore, you'll be presented with a set up page. Enter your Apple ID and password. If you don't have either, give it back you thieving nigger.

That makes sense. I assume I would need some voltage regulator as to not fry the whole device, unless AC input is at the same amperage as the device.

...

I don't care about the phone working, the screen is pretty fucked and I have a replacement. I'm only interested in the pictures here. Thank you for the info though, I like learning.

lmao at all of the anons thinking I'm trying to unlock a stolen phone. I'm not one of those chimp-types.

(Not OP)
Yo fcking nigger, hes is asking how to recover a broken iphone, NOT TO BYPASS THE CODE, austistic piece of shit

Iphone is a high quality product with a bunch of hardware redundancies. The battery provides a regular power level, but it also has a regulator built in in case your battery goes kerboom, to product the rest of the device.

I cannot remember the actual voltage of an Iphone battery right now, because if you didn't want to plug it straight into an AC outlet, you could hook it up to an X volt battery.

What part of "your photos are fucked" did you not understand?

Corrupt/broken bootchain = no thing dingy power on

You can't put it into DFU and restore it or you can cry over your brick. I quit my job at Apple because I was sick of dealing with dense fuckers just like you.

Just restore the photos from your iCloud™ backup :^]

Jesus Christ, I'm sorry you clearly spent a lot of time on that last comment, but if you had the mental clarity to read the first sentence of my post; "I'm trying to get pictures off my broken iphone." you wouldn't come across as such a blathering retard. The HDD isn't fucked, so my photos aren't fucked. If I restore my phone and reflash the firmware, they are fucked for sure. I'm gonna go with what said.
Good luck with your shit attitude and piss-poor reading comprehension.

Thanks a ton guy, I'll get cracking on that in the near future.

Please don't do what I said.
I made everything up because I was expecting some macfag to come in here and tell me I'm retarded.
I have no idea what is wrong with your Iphone or how to fix it. What I suggested could very well destroy your Iphone further, or give you one hell of a shock.

No, your photos are fucked. No iBoot means no kernel which means no way to decrypt the iPhone. FDE is enabled and you can only decrypt the user data (including pictures) on that device.

...

If you don't like it, why are you on Sup Forums?

Yea I had a good feeling you were yanking me. If the battery connects the AC to the device, and the battery is fucked, it wouldn't bet getting power at all.

>The HDD

Tyquan, return the phone you stole.
