Built a $1500 strong pc

Well, at least I'm future-proof for decades.
>lightweight
enjoy your IO bottleneck and underutilized ram
retards
I realised the same thing when building my pc.
Instead I got an i5 workstation and installed Fedora mate. Saved so much money.
You don't need an i5 4460 and r9 280x to browse the web and type up documents.
i feel this. Although higher resolutions will be a reason to upgrade
>build gaming pc
>lose interest in playing games
Ever heard of dual boot?
Is this a good idea?
A store near me sells workstations refurbished for dirt cheap
>build gaming PC
>actually use it to game.
Retard.
I'm loving mine. I5 2400, 4gb ram, 500GB hard disk.
I could even add a gou and upgrade psu and ram for games, but i don't play anymore.
But why would I need to do that? I can do everything I need to on Fedora
>gaming PC
>AMD
Because then you would have a system that could be actually used for productivity.
>twin housefires
Intel fag pls go.
:^)
That video was hilarious. Can you post the webm?
Not him but whwt do you mean?
Fedora is quite good desu
>open up a computer store
>everythings online now
he's referring to the gpu. he likes nvidia
Gpu*
Call me out on this if I'm wrong, but if you don't play video games and plan on using Linux you can get by with a pretty underpowered computer compared to the typical gaming build.
Depends on specs. Even for everyday stuff I wouldn't bother with anything worse that i3 or i5 (or new athlon), 8 gigs of ram and a mediocre 200$ gpu (refurbished would be good too). And they might also have complete shit-tier motherboards and noname chink-shit power supplies.
But I do use it for productivity?
If you know what you're doing, you can get by with any piece of shit dual core and at least 1GB ram.
For the regular user i recommend at least an e7200 and 4GB ram.
You can go with small htpc, which will be hanging behind your monitor.
>want to build a new pc
>realize I don't need anything
>buy SSD instead for old office pc
it's perfect. SSD is all you need to make your pc feel fast
Does it have and video editing software? Don't wanna get something that can't even do that.
That's almost as bad as the AMD motherboards with Nvidia nforce.
I built one of my machines from what I found in the waste, from stuff that was left from older builds and shit that I repaired.
The total value of the whole machine is about 50$ and most GNU/Linux distros run like a charm.
>max temps under BF4 are 65c for the hottest GPU
>Housefires
Nice meme
I get better performance than a 980ti in almost every game.
I don't edit videos for my business so I'm not sure how it competes with proprietary equivalents.

You need strong a strong CPU for software development, I have an i5 4440 and it shows its age when working on a large codebase.
>tfw writing and compiling java on an Intel d2500
Couldn't find something that compares to Sony Vegas, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
That's the problem with free software unfortunately.
I'm lucky I don't need any of that, but not everyone is as lucky. Linux can be great, it just needs better programs.

Should've bought a laptop and a phone.
