I'd say Arc, Numix or Greybird.
Arc for Gnome 3, Greybird for Unity and Numix for just about everything else.
As far as icons go, Numix, Nitrux, and Elementary are by far the most consistent and aesthetically pleasing themes that I've used.
Fedora 23 with Cinnamon, Numix theme, Elementary icons, and Windows 10 light theme (Cinnamon theme) is by far the most comfy desktop I've used on Linux.

both systems will attempt to correct filesystem corruption during boot (windows: chkdsk, linux: fsck), fsck will only correct things if it's safe to do so, if it runs into a case that can result in further damage, it will fail (at which point you're to run it manually where it will ask questions), ideally, if you run into errors that aren't automatically repairable, you should just restore the system from a backup (same goes for windows or anything else)
