How do I rip my privatehd downloads to a smaller size?
I can't keep them as 3~ gb every episode.

rip/remux: makemkv
transcode: ffmpeg

ffmpeg

redfox and whatever converter you want

Thanks

dd if=/dev/sr0 of=image_name.iso
cat /dev/sr0 > image.iso

explain this redfox nonsense and why i should use paid shitware

turns out makemkv is timed SHAREWARE. fuck this

download a trial or some shit.

It's free as long as it's in beta, you can get a key in their forums
It has been in beta 5ever, apparently it's too avoid the MPAA

>i have these discs for a few days
>30 day trial? THAT WON'T DO

The is a good blu ripping program that you can use , afterwards use handbrake or mediaencoder to transcode the movie to what u want.

Whats the choice format for best colors / size

I use makeMKV to rip blurays and DVD. The program is free for the first 30 days then requires payment. One time fee of $40. Also offers a Linux version. Then use handbrake to encode as a single ripped Blu-ray can be up to 45gb.

MakeMKV is a great program that I use frequently and had no qualms about paying for. Stop being a Jew and support the dev you fag.

>it can be pirated easily of course, but from a moral stand point, don't be that guy.

>I use makeMKV to rip blurays and DVD.
You cant even preview the data as a video. You have no idea what you're ripping.

>You have no idea what you're ripping.
that's what the disc label is for

>disc label
the disc is in the drive, dingus

Usually the biggest file is the main movie. Others are the extra content etc. Unless it's a movie from Lionsgate which purposely has dummy entries on the disc with the scenes from the movie all scrambled in the wrong order.

Have yet to use a single Blu-ray ripper that comes close to makeMKV. My Blu-ray collection is 90+ and growing. Don't even know how many DVDs I have.

only after you've looked at it and gone "i think i'll rip this"

i just rip it all and discard what i don't want, it's not like it takes long, as makemkv only remuxes

This, because GNU/Linux.

Feels good to live free.
