Pic related, the PCB got bent due to GPU sagging. Already attached a fishing line to stop it, but it still bends a little. Will a backplate solve my problems?
GPU sag
maybe help a tiny bit
your best bet is actually to put supports under it
she sagg me
A backplate on my 980ti has no saggg
Does the new 1080 have sag free extreme mcbee technology
the gpu is no longer sagging. only the pcb is bent
>buying a stupidly long triple-fan card
For what purpose?
Backplate helps with sag by about 60%. It will still sag though, especially a triple fan design card. Just stick something in there to prop it up if you don't move your case around much. I just snapped a leg off my wifes sons tea set.
My 390 Strix sagged, but I re-routed my aux power to the top grommet and it pulls the ass end up.
got a great deal at the time. performs very well

No
Here's an easy fix: get a case that doesn't have a side window.
the sagging is gone. just trying to unbent the pcb
*unbend
Measure the distance of the sagging, go outside with a ruler, start measuring sticks and bring home the winner.
Here's my solution.
Made with a couple pieces of plastic, some nuts 'n bolts, and an hour or so of hand work.
If you can build a computer you should be able to make something like this based on what you have for the case.
Another pic.
Tools used were really simple, to be honest. A small hand saw for cutting plastic (which is very easy to cut), and a drill to make some holes.
Last one.
I was lucky that the distances were very near but, a bit of brain work would solve any problems with other spacing measures.
GPU sag is inevitable with big cards
just prop it or fishing line it like you've already done
i hope theres a 490x nano because ill just get that.
hay same cooler!
why is sagging a bad thing? does it make the card get hotter or something?
Why fight gravity like that when you can just add a support directly under the stress point?
It makes the sock drawer goblins get insomnia ruining your nightly faps.
Well I fought gravity like that because it was a clean, and easy solution to make really, and I don't have some long stick or flying wire around.
Also I'm supporting that GPU by it's large metal backplate which is bolted tightly into the PCB and the large heatsink and whatnot.
I tried to budge it with a little force by my hands, that shit is ROCK SOLID.
