So Sup Forums, today I accidentally spilled a whole bottle of iced coffee on my retina macbook. Initially I freaked out and thought it's 100% dead... I was even thinking about getting a new laptop... But I reminded myself why I paid the price for a Mac and calmed down. The laptop shut itself down immediately and after an hour it turned back again, with no damage whatsoever.

So can your chinkpad do this Sup Forums?

>So can your chinkpad do this Sup Forums?
yes, actually

No, my thinkpad continues running, as the drink flows through the drainage ports.

>drinking iced coffee
this makes me madder than the macfaggotry, actually. Coffee should be hot, no exceptions.

>work at apple repair shop
>girl comes up to counter crying
>ask her what is wrong
>tells me she spilled something on her macbook
>ok let me take a look
>see nothing crazy on outside
>unscrew bottom case
>milk pours out of macbook
>what the fuck did she mistake it for a cereal bowl
>tell her it's fucked and I can't fix it. it's all toast
>she get's mad and leaves
>tell her there's no use crying over spilled milk
>tech manager sitting at the counter loses it and spits out his coffee.

it was a good day.

>Turns back on after a short detection
>By itself

Senpai, that's actually terrible.

Since when was famalammadingdong changed to senpai?

a fair while ago now

kek

It makes sure there is no short anymore before starting again

>he actually bought a retina macbook pro
enjoy your glued in battery and non-upgradeable components.

>I have a real man's taste cause I'm a big strong man, no exceptions, I swear... r-right mom?

The lifespan of those things are shit anyways though

>Built in ram

Let's see what happens if we pit a Mac vs. a "modern" Thinkpad X1.

Mac:

Thinkpad:

As you can see the Thinkpad couldn't even survive half the shit the MBA survived. And the MBA still works perfectly after a battery change the Thinkpad is dead dead...

>"extreme" torture test
>puts macbook under heat lamp for turtles
>bakes thinkpad in the oven

Ok.

They aren't even doing the tests in the same order. The MBA failed the water test which they did last and killed the battery, and they pitched the X1 like a tent instead of letting it sit normally and drain the liquid out through the ports like it's designed to, killing the keyboard/touchpad. What in the ever loving fuck are they doing?

Silver lining, I never say it.
