WhatsApp announced that it launched a desktop application that is available on both Windows and Mac devices. The company's Facebook said it supports desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more. All messages are synchronized with WhatsApp mobile devices as well.
Earlier this week, leaked images indicating that a desktop application would be released soon, allowing you to send messages to friends and share files, all from your PC.
WhatsApp launches native application for Windows and Mac
Fuck off normie BR
>whatspp
>windows and mac
Ayyy
>desktop
>just a 60MB wrapper for web.whatsapp.com
yeah, "native"
This shit still requires you to have your phone on doesn't it
No GNU/linux support? I think I'll stay on Telegram.
Fuck off shill.
Everytime my phone goes into doze Whatsapp web got fucked. I hate it.
>No GNU/linux support?
Well they do say desktop app, not server app.
That thing is more cancerous than facebook itself, seriously.
>still can't work without a phone connected
So a tool that's designed for basic communication is more cancerous than a website that shoves ads up people's rear ends, blocks people and groups they want for very little reason other than disagreements, are politically biased when it comes to news topics
ok
I've had line on my pc for way longer already, meh
Coincidence?
I don't think so.
Cancerous in a sense it spreads uncontrollably. I don't like the association between Whatsapp and phone contacts very much... Makes it too easy to be spied on and harassed by said phone contacts who got on Whatsapp. I tried it once, never came back. As for Facebook, we all know the people behind Facebook don't have the best of intentions, but I find Whatsapp obnoxious by the way it is tied to your phone contacts.
same, pisses me off everytime.
Same way as sms and mail
> installing a binary from Facebook
may just run windows 10
at least it's still encrypted, which is not the case with telegram on desktop.
what phone? works perfect on android 5 and 6. never had to change a setting.
Third person here, Nexus 6. WhatsApp is a piece of shit and I hate that I've been dragged into using it by my friends, again. Just like Facebook. At least I deleted that one, might just uninstall WhatsApp and be done with it.
This seems nice. Must try it out today!
downvoted
Hopefully it uses some sort of verification code that doesn't depend on the phone being awake to keep the connection.
Otherwise it's fucking worthless.
Even worse, looks like it's Chrome based
I only have FF installed on my PC and that Chrome instance showed up when I logged in from the "desktop" client
...
the installation was weird as fuck. I opened the executable and then it was installed. It didn't ask me anything. Is this the future of apps?
yeah """""""""""""""""native""""""""""""""""""""" applications
also they are just fucking with linux users because releasing it is basically just a click away
