>tfw fell for CS meme
>graduated last june
>50+ job applications and all rejections
>6 interviews and but spilled spaghetti every time
>tfw worthless degree, 4 years of life gone and 28K in debt
Tfw fell for CS meme
>tfw I am in to deep into the meme as well
I know that feel all too well, at least I don't have any debt.
Similar settings but I didn't graduate
Did you actually learn anything useful or did you waste your time on the crap taught in college?
there's always more school
>>tfw fell for CS meme
>>graduated last june
+ job applications and all rejections
Nah you didn't.
Post your timestamped Degree right now.
I have seen these types of threads countless times. Every single time they get asked to post timestamped proof they mysteriously never respond again. I think it's just bots now
Electrical is the way to go they said
You will be able to find a job anywhere they said
Your future is bright they said
Fuck this existence, all my chemical/mechanical friends have great high paying jobs right out of school
don't be too hard on yourself man, job interviews are much difficult when you're young and don't have many things to talk about yet
+ job applications and all rejections
interviews and but spilled spaghetti every time
>>tfw worthless degree, 4 years of life gone and 28K in debt
What shit grades did you major with?
>studying software engineering
>already having a paid internship where I can work from home when I want
Not op but also young but all job interviews have been good so far. If you're young and have not much to talk about, you can talk about yourself. Your motivations, your interests, what drives you to do the things you do.
Employers like seeing a potential employee that knows what they are good at and can do, and knows what they want. It also shows you are proactive in communicating, which is essential for employers.
>TFW graduated with a degree in economics
>TFW 3.8 CGPA, lots of networking(business events, several clubs, networking with profs) and several internships
>TFW $60k starting, cozy as fuck job, actually enjoy it and the people I work with
>TFW lots of opportunities ahead and may soon get my MBA, paid for by the company of course
I don't know your feel OP. Guess you shouldn't have been autistic.
>tfw I I fell for cs meme
>tfw I did internships and published papers as an undergrad
>tfw I get offers of upper 5 and 6 figures this spring
>tfw i turned them down to pursue PhD
Put shit in, get shit out. Nothing replaces hard work, OP.
No user but I'll show you my latest rejection letter
>April 4th
So it's been over a month since you last applied to anything?
>Shit university
>Shit GPA
>No side projects or research
>No internships
>No networking
If ANY of those apply to you, you fucked up big time and should not be surprised that you're unemployed.
You're not the brightest crayon in the shed, are you? He said thats the last rejection letter he got, he could have applied for a job today and not gotten a response yet.
Decent uni, good grades, never been employed, no references, because of that I've been rejected from every single internship
And what's with this networking meme? The only "networking" I've seen happen is mommy and daddy having friends that get you in the door. Going to a fucking job fair and trying to small talk someone at a booth does not constitute networking
HAHAHAHAH don't apply there guy.
If you don't think they'd be blessed to have you, you are not worthy.
Build up your github.
Work on something you like.
Stop playing video games, go home and code. That's really all there fucking is to it. Tired of hearing CS graduates complain.
Been coding since I was 14, had personal projects to show for hours, and I went to the Startup Institute even though my skill set is that of a senior dev. Granted I'm only 21, but I had to work 2x as hard as your average CS grad. Technology is a meritocracy. Get fucking good, you already have the credibility advantage.
This. Fuck OP, he thought a peice of paper could replace talent and hard work.
I fucking hate CS grads. None of you are ever good at programming.
/rage
The "no internships" thing applies to me.
But then, I was already employed when I applied, so what do I care. 乁( ͡°ᴥ ͡°)ㄏ
also
>caring about GPA
besides your first gig, nobody cares.
>Technology is a meritocracy.
No it's not. I bet you're a cisgender, heterosexual white male who came from a family rich enough to buy you a computer to code on. White privilege and male privilege play a huge part. It's not a meritocracy.
Not as meme as a law degree friend. Build a portfolio and you'll be right.
OP is specifically complaining about how he can't find a first gig. If you don't have enough connections that people will look past your GPA when looking at your first gig, you should care about it.
