I perfer a Intel i5 as well, especially in my iMacs.

present

had this for almost 5 years now

feels good

I-I-I-I 2600k allowed?

Maybe if you game only, but for work I need a i7

>pickings are slim for LGA 1155 socket mobo's

my computer refused to put out a display for some reason, even after cmos reset. RIP in piece GlaDOS III...

Yeah I still use a 2500k; I am hoping to upgrade in the near future so I can do some vt-d shenanigans. There's just so little reason to upgrade since nothing really taxes the processor that badly. I guess new emulators like the WiiU emulator that's being worked on might be a reason?

2550K's welcome?

5600k welcome?

I upgraded from a core 2 duo

*raises hoof*

Feels good not to waste money on the latest Intel CPU and then cry on Sup Forums about how it's shit.

6500k*****

>not still using the q6600
fucking novices

No, why would you be? This is a 2500k thread.

A challenger approaches

I wait for zen

Dumb frogposter
Still using outdated piece of shit.

Hell yeah, I upgraded to my 2500k from a Core2 E8600. Still running like a beast. I'm gonna upgrade it eventually, just not sure if I'm going for a full enthusiast build or stick with mainstream.

i5 3750k Masterrace reporting in

mine has been OC to 4.4Ghz since 2011

Sandy Bridge best bridge

My nigga.

I came late to the party, I have the 3570k

still havent overclocked it because I have no need to, though I did put an aftermarket cooler on, it was hitting 85 at load

my nigga

why would u OC it? its the best CPU of all times

me, been since 2013. don't feel like upgrading.

>mfw i7 870
>mfw 4.2ghz on air
Could push it to 4.3ghz, but then it would need insane voltages and my cooler wouldn't be able to handle the temps.

Lynnfield master race.

2500k still at stock. I think I'll be good for the next 5 years

What's wrong with the 3570k, how is the 2500k better?

2600k reporting in

i have a i7 2600, my dude.

>4 cores
>any year

i7 960 master race reporting in

>4790k's still $300 even used

guess i'll be using my 4440 until i actually need an i7 with another 1ghz.

i3-2310M poverty here

>mobile

I'm sorry

AMD fag here.
Go fuck yourself, we don't want your kind in our camp, either.

>*raises hoof*
dude, you'd be berated for that even on the containment board

i7-2600k here, not feeling any need to upgrade.

I 4770k

i5-2520m here. Still truckin'

I had one of those, with a gt520m.

The fucker burnt my lap a bunch of times, was good for the winter though.

Rockin' a 2500k for almost 5 years now. Probably upgrading to Zen though because AMD.

At least they're still the full voltage mobile series, not the ulv crap that's in every notebook now.
My x240 4200u is as only a bit faster than the 2310m...

>they fell for the bait

4790k master race

reporting

Shot my load early, guys. i5-650 here.

>tfw too poor to get an i5
>Got an i3 2100k instead
>Have enough money now to get the i7 SB but it's discontinued

Is the 4690k the new 2500k?

youtu.be/DxGge0tR4IM

A veritable housefire.

Get the fuck out of this thread faggots

Are you retarded? All of the new K series chips are TIM'd. Why the fuck should you have to delid a processor to make it perform like it's supposed to? Go buy an X99 and/or Xeon and grow the fuck up 1337 0v3rcl0ck3r manchild

>tfw you bought a 2500k
>tfw still going strong after 5+ years
There isnt a better feel

best investment ever

2600K @ 4.5GHz / 1.265v

Holy fuck that frequency at that voltage, does it crash if you breathe on it?

4.2ghz @ 1.2v. Runs at ~70 C on load

had no patience to go for a longer run
@Small FFTs

Pretty decent temps for small FFTs. If it's stable enough for what you do then grats on winning the silicon lottery.

I might try pushing mine to 4.8~5 but I have a feeling I'm gonna need to push the voltage past 1.35 for that to be stable, and my temps will probably be 5-10C higher than yours.

Do you use offset voltage by any chance?

+0,005 offset voltage and deactivated llc

copy pasta in paint some OC shit together, claim mad gainz, make a proof video!

stop mirin kek

2500k here, ocd it to 4,2 once for wITCHER 3 for a month but I realized there is actually no need,
so i keep it on stock, but i know it can run 4.8 at ease..

i have the 4430

did i do well Sup Forums

Battery life will be better on a processor that consumes less power. I get more than 10 hours on my Intel atom netbook.

>used to own one
>replaced it twice since then
>basically both times were sidegrades

I dread the current situation of the CPU market. Hopefully Zen is as good as advertised.

2500k master race

literally no reason for me to upgrade

Intel Core i5 2520M @ 2.50GHz on my thinkpad

i5-4460 on my desktop. does what it needs to do
