Hey fa/g/s, can you take a look at my build and tear it apart and let me know how stupid I am with better alternatives? It's my first version of this build and I want to be able to play overwatch as cheaply as possible. My current comp is a laptop since I had to give me old desktop away due to moving.

bump

Anyway you should save and spend more.
$200 more would make a huge difference, that will have problems running overwatch.

If you want just a cheap computer that werks what you have right now its enough.

>AMD CPU

is it the video card that's going to run into problems?

Thank you, I love the idea of being a hot british girl. But yes, I'm also being cheap

No, the CPU:
us.battle.net/support/en/article/7636

Apparently the game is really CPU intensive, the X4 wont be enough for it.
Save for a FX 8XXX CPU or get a I5-4460 or 6400.

Give: logicalincrements.com/ a read if you want to check prices.

Put more money in your CPU otherwise you're in good shape. I take it you plan to buy other parts at a later date?

Keep in mind this is probably the worst time to buy a GPU

Yes thats the idea. Why are they coming out with updates soon?

AMD are revealing new consumer cards on June 1st. So cards in that segment are likely to drop in price.

And to leave it easy.
Get a HDD instead a SSD if you are on a budget, Overwatch is 35GB, it will eat 1/4 of your SSD, the other 3/4 will be used by windows and other programs.
Dont buy a videocard yet.
Get a mid-high tier CPU, play with the IGPU for a while.
Cheap but good motherboard.
EVGA 500B PSU.

>Get a HDD instead a SSD if you are on a budget, Overwatch is 35GB, it will eat 1/4 of your SSD, the other 3/4 will be used by windows and other programs.

I'm assuming he's going to buy a HDD relatively soon, I'd say the performance gains are worth having to horde memory for a couple weeks

Why is that girl typing on an Epson ink jet?

>inb4 faggot for noticing there's no computer

Thank you beautiful people. I made some changes and updates, how badly did I disappoint you Sup Forumsentlemen?

pcpartpicker.com/p/zwkMf7

Dont cheap out in your PSU, get a good one, a cheap one would be EVGA 500B.
NZXT case is better, or get another cheap case like HAF912 or Rosewill challenger.
Get a I5-6400 instead, its cheaper.
Dont buy ASRock motherboards.
DDR3 memory doesnt work with Skylake CPUs, you need DDR4.

PC gaming is expensive, i know.

Gotta change the RAM to DDR4

Boo, you're raining on my being cheap parade,

New update. pcpartpicker.com/p/8MMkvK

pcpartpicker.com/p/4Hhmyc
$40 cheaper.

>pcpartpicker.com/p/4Hhmyc
That's what I'm talking about! Though I'm keeping my old case.

pcpartpicker.com/p/Dqyvgs

This is fine for overwatch. What video card?

Well any other way i can think of making it cheaper would be get a I3-6100($110 instead $180) and cheaper case.
But i would recommend you to keep the I5.

You might want to wait for the new videocards to come out.
The current new ones are out of your budget ($300+).

Try asking for more help on the build threads and /sqt/.

>pcpartpicker.com/p/Dqyvgs
don't get the meme case mate, get the 200r

No vidya card yet, apparently I'm supposed to wait until the new cards come out and everything drops. Though from what I understand overwatch should be alright since it's cpu intensive, not vidya card.

'preciate the help! thanks

get something like this for a cheap build

Love it, added it.

Here's my most current build for anyone who wants a cheap build.

pcpartpicker.com/p/Dqyvgs

no you didn't...

a fool I made of myself....

>apparently I'm supposed to wait until the new cards come out and everything drops.
Don't listen to these people. This type of shit will have you waiting forever. Just buy the memeforce and play your games.

I need help picking a power supply for this plus a GTX1070.

>pcpartpicker.com/p/LftGBm

I know the basics of picking power supplies but I don't know how to calculate my needs from a list of parts.

also general feedback and whatnot

I have questions about power supplies too. Even if I go dual SLI I barely get to 500W. Do people only need the big 750W+ power supplies for things like water cooling and overclocking?

bump because I want Sup Forums to be about building PCs and not shopping for tablets
