MANUAL PEN THREAD

Get the fuck in here already, what kinds of pens do you like to use and for what reason?

the pilot plastic one. Writes good enough.

The cheap and disposable ones because as an EMS i use my pen for work and not pretending to be important

What is an automatic pen?

Lately I've been using one of the free Charlie pens you get with some of the 4.5oz bottles of Noodler's Ink.

I lost my TWSBI eco so i was bummed about resorting to the 'free' pen but its quite a nice little eyedropper.

>Parker

a fucking ballpoint pen from Walmart like every other normal human you dumb fucking autist

Suck my BIC, pseudo-intellectual fedora wearing douchebags.

It's hard not to believe you, you do seem to exude a real walmart vibe.

Very happy with my Lamy Safari.

I have a Lamy Vista and the cartridge converter is complete shit. I'm gonna buy a Sailor and just use refills in the Lamy.

Color?
Nib?

Glad to see this is a thread again. I missed the pen threads. Currently writing with pic related

Looks a little late 90's to me.

Is it metal or metal looking plastic?

I like the clip tho.

Matt charcoal, medium nib. I also like the Lamy ink the most, it's very consistent and the bottle is very functionally designed.

Staples OptiFlow. I like the scratchy feeling you get

Exams are done now but I use one of these. You can plug up the bottom with epoxy, grease/teflon tape the threads and fill the entire barrel with ink.

So you use the converter?
I want to take one of the bodies from the rollerball and make an eyedropper out of a Safari someday.

Nice, is that a Jinhao?

Wing sung 659. Similar breed but slightly more expensive on average. I have a few of the jinhaos but I don't think they're great because of how broad they are.

Nice, do you get those via /csg/

there are some curry as fuck ones like it via FPR

As a cook, I just buy a big package of those BIC ballpoints and always have a couple in the left arm pocket of my uniform. Useful for prep lists and the like.

nah just found on eBay for $9. I have a lot of cheap fountain pens - ebonite or acrylic curry ones (e.g. Noodler's) absolutely shit on low end parkers etc. Got the wing sung over this one but I have one of these in ebonite

Can you vape with it?

I like my Pilot Acroball M, it's comfortable, it's a clicker and it's smooth enough.
I also like fine pointed signo's, G2's and Energels

At work I mostly use fineliners since the pens are kind of meh. But I still use them for double sided forms since the fineliners bleed through.

>mate literally dropped and ruined my lamy 2k nib
genuinely rustled

It's metal, and the quality is top tier

I have a Pilot Memetropolitan. Didnt like it that much. A .9mm G2 gives me what I wanted (that is, noticeable variation in stroke width) from the Met without all the hassle and fussiness the Met had. Plus it doesnt burn through ink like a madman like my Met did.

Bought this ballpoint pen for 60€ recently.
Well, it's actually a bit darker, but the exact same form.

I needed something really compact for jotting down notes on the go and I wanted it to match the expensive leather journal I bought on a trip to Venice.

Quite faggy when I think about it, but I don't regret it. Both items are a real pleasure to use

metropolicemen were never meant to have variation

Oh, it's a Faber-Castell e-motion in case anyone wants to know

>ballpoint for €60

I quite like my curry noodlers pens, but the smell of ebonite or bakelite is killing me. Tho it is fading.

Some indian pens are complete dogshit I should add. Dollar 717's are piston filling demonstrator pens for like 3 dollars but are made of really shit plastic and have a terrible nib. I've heard serwex is terrible also.

Vista represent!

Not Microsoft, though.

Well yeah, makes sense.

Oh, and this OHTO slimline is part of my 'EDC'

I use a lame safari too. I reccomend trying the $17 Noodlers creaper. Very satisfied with it.

Are there any guides or resources on fountain pen and mechanical pencils?

Just get a Lamy Safari (or a Chinese clone if you can't afford one). They are popular for good reason.

automaticpens.co.uk/
They're okay enough, but the Horizon pens are notably better.

>See faggot on the train
>Trenchcoat
>Fedora
>reading a kafka book
>Holding a fucking Lamy Safari
And thats why I stopped using my fountain pens and just stick to my graphgear for everything

My favorite pens:

Uni PNA-125 (most versatile permanent marker)
Rotring 500 0.5mm (just as good as the 600 at half the price)
Staedtler 780 (great, but maybe the Chinese knockoffs are as good, because it's a very simple design)
Rotring 500 0.35mm (Japanese import)
Lamy Safari with B nib and Noodler's Bay State Blue
Lamy Safari with EF nib and Noodler's Bad Black Moccasin
Pilot Penmanship (Japanese import, extremely fine nib)

The matching 0.5mm pencil appeared recently for "cheap". Should have bought it. Still have my Rapid Pro for now.

And anti-recommendation:
Uni Kuru Toga

I don't like the spongy feeling, and it's only really good for writing Japanese (or similar writing with lots of short strokes). If you try drawing with it or writing cursive you will never get a perfect cone shape like you're supposed to. But this is a controversial pencil, maybe you will like it.

...

I vape whilst doing calligraphy

What is the point of putting a feather on a metal dip pen? It's fragile and unstable compared to a normal nib holder.

Autism... The thread.

~aesthetics~
Pretty much cheap nibs and crappy pewter bodies with a feather stuck in and sold at a massive markup to people who like Harry Potter a lot or to goths/wannabe victorians who want something old fashioned or "dark".

An ems?

Pilot Plumix, on Rhodia dotted paper.
I like it because it's so smooth and comfy, but I don't have that much money. Since I'm a NEET now I mostly type on my computer instead of write things by hand.

Same here my intellectual gentle sir

I really want one of these clear pens to get to use as a dropper, but I don't feel like spending over $5, since at that point I don't really feel like they're truly disposable. I don't use them outside my house for convenience purposes, but I still like them being cheap just in case I somehow fuck one up, which is why I buy Jinhao and such.

I sort of want to do that with my Pilot Penmanship but I don't want to risk it leaking and spilling huge amounts of ink. Instead I refill the cartridge with a syringe (cheaper than buying a converter).

Lol robot penises

>manual pen
>Automatically dispenses ink

Yes, and vaping is cool and your lowered flappy paddle subaru has a manual transmission

I have a chinese Hero 329, some other chinese pen, and parkers 25 and 45. I bought none of thise, all four were gifts, but I find that stuff interesting so I'll use thise for the time being.
Also, quite ironically, I have less trouble with smuding if I use thise pens, than with some cheap ballpoints.

kill yourself moron

I always want to go back to using my Lamy, and to finally fix my atrocious handwriting, but then I just grab a random nerdy ballpoint pen from some conference and write down shit I will not be able to read anymore within 1 week from having written it.

>Fuck

If I cover myself with Noodler's bulletproof and then I shot myself. Will I get hurt?

Give me jinhao or give me death.

Yes. Only the ink itself will be unharmed.
