does N stand for nigger?

Quoting for interest

Ok, the Redmi 3 Pro battery is fucking insane. 5 hours SOT with music, games and social media and I still have 40% left back home.

Chinks did black magic with this thing. It does come with a very agressive greenify/amplify-like battery profile activated out of the box that limits apps connecting and getting location when the phone is asleep to a bare minimum to be functional but even adding the most important ones to the whitelist, the impact to battery life is minimal.

I had wifi, GPS, 4G and bluetooth with a Pebble Time on at all times, so no cheating with plane mode either.

Huawei P9 for ~500 €. Should I buy it?

Love the design, the specs and the build quality. Only thing I'm worried about is the UI, coming from a Xperia Z.

Or should I just wait for the Xperia X series to come out and hope that the camera won't be a piece of shit like the last few Sony flagships? Also don't like that they shrunk the screen size from 5.2" to 5".

Maybe other suggestions?

Proud owner of xiaomi redmi 3 here. Off all the chink shit smartphones that I've bought (few of them since I've decided to upgrade from Sony Ericsson K530i), it's the best one that I've had. Hell it's about as nice as my iphone 5 while being, what? 5 times cheaper?

Still, it's not without fault tho.
>fucking drag queen-tier colors (the grey one sells like hotcakes and resellers are taking the advantage of it by charging 20 bucks extra on grey version compared to the gold/silver version)
>the color on the on/off button faded pretty quickly
>the glass, while scratch resistant, isn't doing well on hydrofluoric acid. I touched the screen while wearing gloves (which has some HF residue on my fingers) and I can see the acid mark on the screen. A protective glasses could hide the mark very well tho.
>fake miui 7 and no global rom yet
>pajeets shitting the phone on gsmarena because they couldn't accept the fact that xiaomi>micromax

i'm gunna buy the iphone 7 when it comes out and there's not a single thing you can do about it

Stupid is as stupid does

didn't you hear tim say it was gunna have features that would make you ask yourself "how did i live with out it?"

>>fake miui 7 and no global rom yet
You can install the xiaomi.eu ROM and get rif of the fake malware'd version. you should do that if you don't want the chinks stealing your data.

I'd wait for the S-version, but whatever you want.
Thanks for being one of the tester, I guess, for when they'll make the enhanced version!

What's the cheapest Android 6.0 phone?

Oukitel k4000 pro

Hey guys, I currently have an LG G3 and am trying to find a new phone because the headphone jack is fucked up on G3's if you don't use headphones with a microphone in it. It has other problems but the main thing is I want a phone that has equivalent specs or better. I was looking at the G5 but I'm sure there are better phones out there.

USA
AT&T

Wanted features:

Excellent Camera
4k
Longer battery life than G3

Budget:

No budget

Size:

Doesn't matter, of course I'd prefer for it to fit in my pocket.

>Post a mini-review of your phone
How come no one does this? I'm bored and have nothing else to do so I'll do it anyway.

I have a Moto X Pure Edition and overall I think it's a really good phone, especially if you can get it for like $350 or under.
The 5.7" screen takes some adjusting to, but now that I'm used to it I don't think I can ever get a phone with a screen less than 5.5". Especially after the latest google keyboard update it has become much easier to use with one hand.

The screen is 1440x2560 and it has a decently high ppi, so the display is pretty. Only problem with the display is that it is not an amoled screen, so blacks pixels still light up.
The moto features are pretty god tier, but I really only use moto display and moto actions.
Moto display works if you wave your hand over it, or if it detects any motion. It only shows the first line or so of any notifications and unfortunately it isn't open source so that can't really be modified at all. I still prefer that to ambient display though.
The biggest issue with moto display is that all previous moto x models had amoled screens, so that the moto display actually looked black. On the Pure the entire screen lights up black so it kind of reduces the usefulness.
The double twist for camera works really well and I use it a lot, but the double shake for flashlight is pretty spotty and I have that turned off.

The camera is really good in good lighting, but because of not having any ois the pictures come out a little blurry if your hands aren't very steady.
Low light pictures are pretty average.

Software support started really good but I think motorola kind of dropped the ball on it. I'm only on the February 1st security patch, and there is no news about any more. Thanks to a pretty active developer scene though the phone will probably stay up to date on software for at least another 2-3 years.

The G3 is still a pretty nice phone so I think you should hold on to it until around october when the new nexus devices come out.
The high end one should definitely have a 4k screen, and battery on nexus phones has always been pretty nice. Combine that with all the battery tweaks you can do after rooting and you should easily get through a day of heavy use.

S7 or HTC 10 if you can.

Anyone tried glass screen protectors? Did it work as intended?

Hard to believe a 0.2 mm thick piece of glass will protect a screen from shattering desu

I have a tempered glass screen protector and it isn't really for preventing the screen from cracking. It serves the same purpose as a regular plastic screen protector, but it does the job better.
If you want something that will protect the screen from shattering then get a case.

Android N only coming in 2031...

>what is root

>Sony Xperia Z5 Price Cut By $100, Ahead Of Xperia X Series Release
IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME.
It's been a hard 4 months. Having the amazon store page as my home page, checking it every day for the price to drop.
It's finally dipped into the $400 range. There's a number 4 in that price. I'm buying it.
I'm crying.

>>Lumia smartphones are coming to an end, Microsoft hints

OK, what major company makes a fast $30 Android phone now?

Just picked up the Z5, so will give my thoughts.

Design is good, feels nice and solid in the hand, rear glass isn't a fingerprint magnet like the previous Z series entries. Only a single flap this time for the SIM/SD cards is a plus, and still maintains the IP68 for water.

5.2" screen is a perfect size imo, only 1080p but colours are good for an LCD, also supports the double-tap to wake like motorolas/LGs/HTCs which I don't think I could live without.

Phone gets a little warm under heavy use (Games/multiple downloads etc) due to the SD810, but not uncomfortably so, at least for me. Interface is quite zippy due to the power under the hood, very close to stock Android. Most of the Sony apps can be uninstalled/disabled, but are fairly unintrusive.

Haven't used the camera as much as I'd like, but coming from an HTC M8, it's much much better performing. I also like the slightly unusual finger print sensor placement, though this won't be to everyone's tastes.

Very pleased overall.

5X or wait? The phone is half a year old now and I am hoping the new nexus series will return to their nice prices again.

I am looking for a new phone for around 250-300€

what do you think about the gay anoying sony software?

Just wait.
Worst case the new nexus devices are shit and you can buy a 5x for even cheaper than it is right now.

As I said, almost all of their pre-installed stuff can be un-installed/disabled and/or replaced, so not had anything really bug me thus far.

Redmi Note 3 Pro charge rate.

Whats the best music player? Is the foobar app any good?

Just use poweramp or shuttle

thinking about upgrading to the samsung s7 from a
droid 2.
is it everything people crack it up to be?

Yeah. If you can afford it go for it. Don't do it if you are hurting for cash.

spoilers don't work on Sup Forums
Don't ever upgrade to a samshill phone. Even though they have powerful hardware thanks to the trainwreck touchwizz is the phone will eventually slow down considerably.
I would strongly recommend upgrading to a nexus device, or if not then at least a phone that is rootable and has cm/aosp based custom roms.
Trust me, you do not want to be on touchwizz.

you mean like google nexus?

Yes.
The ones released last year are the nexus 5x and 6p. There will probably be 2 more released at the end of this year as well.

I just got my first smartphone. Moto E.

Is there a beginner's guide for recommended apps, basic privacy, ways to save money (using WhatsApp and Google Voice) etc.

wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/List_of_recommended_Android_software

putting your phone on public wifi like that seems unsafe

?

isnt that what the project fi stuff does if it cant find a good network?

wtf does google fi have to do with nexus phones

google does not kike you into using it with their phones?

No.
The phones come unlocked and work with any carrier.

Hey Sup Forums,

Looking at getting a new smartphone

My main concern is Battery life so im thinking an Asus Zenfone Max would be good.

1) zenfone max a good choice.
2 what version of the device do i need
3) reliable seller
4 any other thoughts please

I currently have a galaxy s4 mini, its shit

Where's the best place to find leaked specs on the upcoming htc nexus phones?

Anyone know shit about what the new nexueshits will be?

I'm not waiting until sony comes out with their junk, as it's usually not even supported on my network, and is overpriced, and I'm not getting a chinese-toy.

It's either the htc 10 now or waiting until nov. for hopefully salvation

see I'm also curious

I know they will be introducing 3D touch hardware and the phones will support seamless updates, but not much else

I'm happy HTC put out the HTC 10 because it gives me some hope they can make a good Nexus phone

congrats dude. enjoy. If you wait another 3 months (after the X releases) it might drop even more

what do you guys think about the LG G5?

rushed

I'm currently using an Xperia Z3c and was wondering if the Z5c is a significant upgrade? Or should I just wait till the X goes down?

If you really want long battery life wait till October and get a oukitel k6000 premium.

yeah that's what im getting from the reviews. im thinking about just buying the g4, the price has fallen a lot.
a bit concerned because i've been using iphones so far. but i need a new phone since my 5s was stolen and i dont have the money for a 6s right now

hi user,

i dont think i can wait that long my phone is so fucked and cracked screen.

- will the oukitel 6000mha battery be much better than the asus 5000mha?
- ive never heard of oukitel are they new/ and good?

If you're switching from an iPhone don't buy anything except a Nexus or moto x pure.
If you go with moto only buy the 2015 model and nothing coming out this year, because Motorola got sold to Lenovo and now they're shit.

Did anyone had their hands on the new Nubia Z11 mini?
Thinking about getting one but I'm not sure about the language support...

can't buy them here i believe. google doesnt sell nexuses in croatia and motorola arent available here either.

What phone is the most cute/japanese-like? OTHER than the iPhone. I already have an iPhone and fancy a change.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

Z5c

>I haven't used a Samsung device since S2
fuck off ignorant shill

actually it seems i can get a 5x for around 300 euros. Would you guys recommend it?

5 rupees have been deposited in your account.

he's right though

if samsung made a Pure device, it would sell like hotcakes

Yes

Dunno which processor is in the Asus but the x20 in the k6k premium has [email protected] [email protected] & [email protected], to offer a great battery life and performance when needed.

looks good

but the battery is smaller than the zenfone max

-is the trade off worth it?
-what makes this better than a zenfone max?
-is xiaomi a good brand?
-should i be worried about the quality of chink brands that are unknown to the western world?

It's a great phone

Wish the battery was a touch bigger but it lasts all day so it doesn't really make much of a difference in practice

OTA monthly updates and factory images available online are a godsend

ok cool, i just discovered the oukitel k10000, with 10000mha battery. is this a good option?

Ah and yes oukitel is pretty new at the game, but are known to deliver great build quality to the low budget market.
The k6000 (which has a too weak cpu for power users) already got cyanogenmod.
Ah and the k6k premium will have six gb ram.

>Snapdragon 410
How are you even considering this shit?

Get a chink with a huge battery
Ulefone Power
Oukitel K6000 Pro
Leagoo Shark 1

Even the Redmi with the smaller 4000 mAh battery would be better.

Asus is bloated shit.

gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7476&idPhone2=7863

Look at display, weight, screen to body ratio

most importantly, price

Nah it will give you four days battery life with normal usage but the cpu of the non-pro series probably won't satisfy you and its heavy >300gram.

if you are willing to lug it around and like the transformer look, then yes

it's made of steel and screws, just wish it had smoother curves

but it makes a good pdw

also chipset

the rn3p has a way better cpu

what about the camera and its app? and how much space does the android take up on the 16 gb model?

camera is top of the line

bare android size? 2-3gb usually with the gapps

ok thankyou user for enlightening me, im not a very smartphone savvy guy, until now

welp, i think my trusty Note 3 which survived everything i threw at it, finally started reaching it's limit, the damn Micro-B superspeed connector doesn't connect cleanly now, so you have to suspend it at a certain angle to charge it

what do? move on to xperia? fix it? redmi?

kimovil.com/en/compare/leagoo-shark-1,oukitel-k6000-pro,ulefone-power16gb

Leagoo has the largest battery, but it's 6". identical specs otherwise so just choose whatever is cheapest/better looking for your taste.

What's your budget?
The note 3 is kind of old so I wouldn't really recommend repairing it.

redmi

no real budget
if it's nice enough i can afford it
the note 3 has been with me for quite a while and the replacement part is like 10 euro/dollar/whatever

Nexus 6p then.
Chink shit is nice, but only if you're on a budget.

ok anons, thanks for your input. im leaning toward the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 now and it looks and sounds like a great option.

any other top contenders for battery life/performance balance

bump

I have 100$ lenovo for 3 years. All i use is browser. Speed is insane, zero problems so long. Why should i buy something 500$+?

why is the redmi actually recommended so much?
>6P
thanks for the suggestion, seems pretty noice and has CM13. will definitely look into that further

you shouldn't.
No point in upgrading your phone unless there's something you need it for that it can't handle.

Make sure it's the Redmi Note Pro 3, with SD650 and not the gimped X10 version.

kimovil.com/en/compare/xiaomi-redmi-note-3-16gb,xiaomi-redmi-note-3-pro

its a faceoff between

1)Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
2) oukitel k6000pro
3) Ulefone power

Note that people claim in their reviews to get 16hours screen on time with the k6000 pro but check if it's compatible with your provider on willmyphonework.net

And if you can wait till October to get the k6000 premium with the x20 which is stronger than the snapdragon 820.

>was ready to jump on the lenovo bandwagon in '14 with the vibe z2 pr
>would have ordered the chinese version from china even
>they decide to ask 500 Euro for it
fuck lenovo

RN3P is the only one officially endorsed by Sup Forums. Your mileage may vary with the others.

>x20 which is stronger than the snapdragon 820.

...

>putting CM13 on a 6p

>cnoemphone.com
Try some unbiased benchmarks next, shill.
