First for there's nothing wrong with Seiko
Except it's reputation. Some people won't take you serious and you'll look like a poor fag.
2rd for fleamarket finds.
at least it's a known name, even if shit
>drop 300$ on an Orient
>girls have never heard of it
>they assume it's chink shit
rolex is the toughest watch in the world
is there a Rolex that is not UGLY AS SIN?
I bet there isn't
Rolex is like porshe, they all look the same, people who own them think they are rich, and look like shit
r8 my chink watch
>implying it's not
Why does /wt/ hate the Seiko SNK series?
t. seiko owner
We don't
any watch with that minutes gear is ugly desu
I just want you to know that normies who haven't watched the movie will think you're autistic for having a watch that looks like that.
>Watched the movie
Or owned an N64
Protip: even those who watched it ;-)
>Hello my friend my name is Rakesh and I'll be servicing your HMT today.
>Don't worry, my hands are clean I just washed them in the Ganges last week.
Recent acquired this. Added a brown leather strap with a gold plated buckle.
there are like 10 people who own one that post or posted here
Like me.
But I need a new strap.
How about this?
Fuck yeah, very nice. Looks like it is in good shape. How much did it cost you? I think the space view ones go for to much imo
Just going to throw this out there, quality straps and bracelets can create a really nice look and feel. And it's not too bad to spring for one because you can use it for a long time across multiple watches.
What's with the obsession with brand names? It like watching console war shitposting, except it's being done by middle aged men who have apparently been drained of any capacity for anything but fapping over Switzerland.
I agree on that, but I paid 48€ for this watch, and I just can't pay more than 15€, 20 tops for a strap.
But I'm open to suggestions since I'm a sucker for comfort.
I honestly ended up overpaying (by about $50), but I don't really mind. Not like I'm going to be selling it off.
That sunlight visibility tho..
Doesn't really matter famalm. I've seen people either just put them on a Hirsch Liberty with or without modding them. Pic related is a 60$ watch on a 35$ Rios strap.
As long as it's comfy and looks well it's worth it. Since if you cheap out on a strap you're going to end up hating it and buying another one. (Coming from the guy who has a box full of them)
quartz, although after reading a WUS thread about the mechanical, i kind of want a mech one too.
apparently the mechanical one has a spring loaded screw down crown, which sounds cool
And the mech one is usually more likely to be a franken.
The 3056 quartz ones are pretty dope though.
>tfw your dad spends your college savings on a JLC reverso
Why doesn't my daddy love me anymore /wt/? ;~;
I smell a lot of jealousy in this post.
>3056 quartz
that should be it, pic related but mine has lighter lume
btw senpai if you're looking for a specific commie watch id reccomend checking out etsy, there's sellers with some pretty cool stuff there
They're not wrong though. While they have a few nice looking models, Rolex could really step up their game.
He got addicted to WUS.
>What's with the obsession with brand names?
a century+ of history, innovation, prestige, quality craftsmanship, design, and engineering, etc.
but if you want to jerk off to your $50 Soviet diver because it "looks cool," go right ahead. that's perfectly fine.
Nah.
I just bought for 20$ instead of Spanish wine (Sorry Hispanon). Plus the old gypsy said she has some poljot's and a "naval watch" at home, and that i should stop by next Thursday or Friday if i want to see them.
It's right in front of where i usually buy my beer so i'll be there anyhow.
Though i saw some really nice handmade watch/jewelry boxes on Etsy a while back. 50~60$ shipped sounds very enticing.
>a century+ of history, innovation, prestige, quality craftsmanship, design, and engineering, etc.
There's actually a word that summarizes everything you said.
These kind of videos make me want to build my own watch, I can't be the only one, right?
As a lazy fuck no, but good for you, maybe you've just found yourself a new vocation and will be the Gerald Genta of this generation
Making a bracelet that perfectly fits a watch would be cool. For something like an SKX that comes with a crappy bracelet, and giving it something God tier.
I kinda like the idea of creating a watch, I wouldn't mind becoming a watchmaker but I fear the pay is to low to live off and it's such a specific field it can be difficult to get into work. But I can always dream, right?
Disturbing lack of digitals in this thread
Well I don't see it as something to live by, but rather as a hobby.
Buy a mechanical movement at 15 dollars in esslinger, and making the case with a cnc.
After that you choose whether to put an already made strap, or make your own.
do remember to take pictures for your ''internet friends'' :^)
Posted it last thread.
"Bullshit"?
no the gypsy guys' watches
Only if i buy any of them :^)
Though if it ends up being a decent looking 3133 I'll definitely end up buying it as a flip.
I understand what you mean, but I desire to craft each part of the movement and every part of the watch, not just buy parts and put them together. Maybe am just being picky but it's what I strive for in that sort of career.
It's a North American thing. The only brand whores bigger than us are the Chinese. The general consensus on Seiko amongst normies exemplifies why the Toyota Crown Majesta will never be a thing here.
Acceptable, but I was thinking of autism.
For you.
beat me to it user
Didn't you guys open a separate general for digital watches?
Totally fine with user's posting digitals though, as long as it doesn't go down to stupid shitposting.
I was thinking "marketing"
does anyone here have a rubber nato?
idk why but they look p cool
I drive a 1.6 Ford Escort with optional front electric windows.
You're not even in the driver's seat. Are you sitting on the shifter?
Nah, this car is just tiny.
Why are you so hairless? Nice watch in any case.
It's my heritage. Also, you're about to get shit on for saying that. Choose your words carefully, bud.
he looks underage
>Ugly
Take that back, faggot.
Why is there no buying advice form for this general?
Hey buddy, fuck you.
There is. Haven't seen one floating around lately though.
Available on request.
Easier to ask for advice here though.
Buying advice is so boring. So much is just 'find me gud watch. No, not that one, better gud watch.' Does everything on Sup Forums need to be focused on consumption?
So what watches are considered top of the line around here?
Too many to name.
Counting that half the generals on Sup Forums are either plain consumerism or or shit like homescreen/desktop threads.
There is some discussion about watch movements here, but that's very limited lately.
A question in the same size as broadside of a barn.
You gotta be much more specific.
I own 7 of these or swappable models. Call me a meeeeeme.
Depends on what your budget is.
There's special snowflake watches that go for millions of dollars.
Personally, my dream watch collection contains a dozen pieces and they add up to around $400,000
Only idiots spend more than $100 on a watch
Bought myself a $10 Raketa from the Ukraine.
Am I cool yet?
Some people have much more money and/or different priorities than you.
> overpriced beetle
This is why this general needs a buying advice form. I've heard watches are now like jewelry since you can just look at the time on your phone or something, so what are the recommended brands? I'll just buy the one I think looks good from them.
A dozen pieces of what?
>This is why this general needs a buying advice form
No, this is why we need people to lurk more
Timepieces.
Watches, ya dunce.
Post watches and piss water.
Literally lurk more, see what people buy and recommend if you have no idea. Or just buy one of the approved meme watches.
And watches have a practical usage besides being a piece of jewelry. I used to be an office worker and now a soldier so i couldn't/can't use my phone at every moment. A watch makes it so much easier to glance and see the time, instead of going fiddling in your pockets for the pocketwatch.
>just buy the one I think looks good from them
This is why a buying guide is hard, tastes are subjective so you need to look at a lot of different styles to find something you like. Lurking is the best way to find new stuff, I recommend the WAYWT threads in the category of your choice on WUS to discover new models.
Never mind. I accidentally didn't read the word collection.
...
>Waywt on wus
What
What Are You Wearing Today on WatchUSeek forums
What are you wearing today.
Are there a lot of people in this general with watches worth over 100,000?

fuck off you lazy faggot, asking to spoonfed fucking everything
Protip: you're posting on a forum right now
Then fuck off. You're useless.
Lmao hey pal look at all these angry grandpas
yep, Omega and Rolex are just high-end mechanical watches, not luxury ones.
Lmao hey pal look at all these posts by some retard who doesn't know shit and then insulted the people that tried to help him
>I want to be better than most people in this thread
well most people here have $100-400 watches so that's not going to be very difficult
if you spend $2-5k you'll be in the top 80%
