Just bought a Nexus 5x for $200 with Google Fi.

How bad did I fuck up?

>Nexus 5
If you don’t can about games or flagship Preformance, the you're ight
>Google Fi
Enjoy the cheap sell service and the botnet (also you can call and text from hangouts now)

Delete this moronic post

My only complaint with Fi after a few months of use is Hangouts. What garbage software. I'm really hoping Allo replaces it eventually.

...

Really fucking bad. Like bay of pigs invasion bad. You're now going to be stuck with a phone without a microsd slot and you're going to be paying out of your arse for data. I regularly used 100GB+ of mobile data with boost and only pay $55 each month too.

It has Android 6 and access to Android N.

Other than that, you fucked up. Should have bought a Redmi Note 3 Pro

Are you going to post this in every fucking smartphone thread?

Also you forgot your trip

>Really fucking bad. Like bay of pigs invasion bad.
kek this

>buying a phone where the only English community is full of pajeet and wetbacks

kys

>Are you going to post this in every fucking smartphone thread?
First time posting this actually
>Also you forgot your trip
?

>implying I mod muh kernels and roms so I can have muh full freedum

this

>use 100GB of mobile data each month
Jesus fuck do you stream UHD porn like 24/7 or something? Nobody needs this much mobile data.

Well considering Samsung us going to start selling 256gb microsd card pretty bad I guess. You'll be a laughing stock for this year and years to come when 320 and 400gb microsd cards get released.

>mfw I live in Romania and get 40 gb 4G internet with 4,5 euros

Muh poverty but good internet

Its like a bunch of Pajeets wanted to spin off a project to get them and their buddies some free cell service under the guise of multi-cell service handoff which is a fucking joke in the first place because what the fuck are roaming agreements durrrr.

What you end up with is another shitty MVNO with hardware restrictions and horribly priced data $10 for 1GB lol..

That's actually pretty light use. Verizon users on grandfathered plans use more than 1TB of mobile data, though most is mobile hotspot. This is why verizon is trying hard to jew existing unlimited customers onto modern plans.

Go back to /mlp/ Emily, lol

Did the carriers finally give up on figuring out which data came from hotspot? T-Mobile did it for awhile and tried to charge extra.

Fi obviously wasn't intended for purely domestic use.

It's more like a bunch of traveling google execs wanted get their own plan after paying outrageous international roaming prices.

>Fucking hell Larry it saids here you used 400gb lte in Cambodia!
>oops lol

Tmobile has unlimited international roaming at no extra charge. There isn't anything special about being able to buy 1GB of data that works everywhere.

I have a nexus 5 and runs fine mortal kombT x, asphalt 8, that fifa game, just shut up mate

>Did the carriers finally give up on figuring out which data came from hotspot?
They never gave a fuck according to ToS for the plans (oops). Now they're shitting their pants offering their unlimited data users free phones and shit to switch to modern plans.

>T-Mobile did it for awhile and tried to charge extra.
Their ToS specifically forbid mobile hotspot past a certain amount of GB.

People are even making coin with selling their grandfathered unlimited mobile data service to others. Ebay used to have them for like 1-2k. Not sure if you can still get them there, some may even be fakes.

Anyway this is why Verizon is so reluctant to give unlimited data anymore, they got pretty butthurt people were using the mobile hotspot feauture as their home ISP and by law because of the old ToS they couldn't do jack shit lol.

>$95 for unlimited data, plus tax
>+ extra for int roaming
>hard pull required (worth at least $200)

lol fuck that shit

with Fi I can just buy a Sim and pop it into my nexus. Sure data is rape but I'm not going to be using constant data during summer vacation.

Unlimited international roaming is free on any of the Simple Choice plans and the cheapest one is $50 bucks.

Hard pull still required so it's still trash.

Boost shill please go...might take you a while with your sub-DSL network speeds and shitty PCS band coverage.

this

Whatever dude, its objectively better in every way.

Unlimited everything vs $10 per GB.

>Hard pull
what does this mean?
please be gentle I'm new here

Hes sperging out about a credit check.

it's a credit check. basically it's a thorough credit history pull, which in turn affects your credit.

Whatever you say senpai.

It lowers your credit score by pulling your credit history. A hard pull typically is worth $200+ because that's the average bonus literal free money you get from opening a credit card.

It's a bad recommendation because I can just open a credit card and use the bonus to pay for the Project Fi fees, with some extra left over. But I won't because I'm not a fucking retard.

k

I have shit credit, is boost really that bad?

If project fi and t-mobile are both dogshit then where are we supposed to go then?

big red lmao

is this the same shit that happens like
at each car dealership you give your information
because I've had plenty of these

>getting cucked while being on a contract
We maximum cuckoldry now.

He's just a poorfag who uses his phone connection as his home internet connection.

AT&T prepaid (gophone) is god tier if you're in the US

I pay about $45 a month for unlimited calls and txts with great coverage.

A financing quote? lol yeah dude. Don't do it unless you're dead sure you can afford it.

>Nexus 5x
Good

>Google Fi
Bad

Why wouldn't you do that? Those lucky fucks on grandfathered plans use their phones as mobile hotspots and get to use as much data as they want. All verizon can do is hold back their tears as they send workers to upgrade the towers around them to keep up with all the extra network usage.

Probably muh games

If latency wasn't an issue I'd totally get one of those unlimited plans.

Actual review coming through. Imo that's a really good deal.

I have a Nexus 5X and it'll be good as long as you are okay with the fixed 32GB storage capacity. The apps and games I've downloaded for it all work smoothly, even the Google Cardboard games and apps. Some complaints:
>the camera app is slow to load
>minor occasional jittery animations in the operating system, which I've read are not present on the Nexus 6P
>the Android N alpha is really really rough, do not sign up for it yet
But these are pretty minor. Overall a good phone.

Project Fi: I really like that it refunds you for unused data, and doesn't fine you for going over your limit: it's a totally linear data plan, $10/GB. So if you're a low data consumer, that's very cost effective. As for the quality of the service, I'm not sure how I can grade that since I spend most of my time around Madison, WI, but the service here is fine, I guess. If you try it and it sucks where you live, you haven't signed a contract, so you can hop onto a different carrier at any time.

>2gb data
>at&t networks
lmao

Yes latency is a big issue as well as stability.

Only a poorfag would do something like that.

Cricket, Verizon, boost

You get 2GB of LTE data, then it throttles to slower.

AT&T has the 2nd best network in the US, you won't find any better unless you go to Verizon and get cucked by a contract and locked down phones.

You can use Verizon without a contract atm. The phones are shit but nexus runs on CDMA now so that's not a big deal

If you don't use a lot of data, it's great. My bill averages about $30/month.

On 3G it is not on LTE. With good reception you should be getting 30-40ms of latency which is good enough for vydia desu.

Point is, paying for unlimited mobile data > paying for unlimited mobile data + home isp. Though I'm sure there's a catch with boost. The grandfathered unlimited data plan from verizon includes unlimited high speed mobile hotspot data and verizon executive's tears for free.

Faster LTE than any of my friends with sprint and verizon also.

Maybe but 100GB or more @ ~8mbps > 2GB @ 100 Mbps for $10 more

100GB of mobile data is useless unless you are one of the aforementioned poorfags who is trying to use it as his home internet connection.

>boost
>catch
The catch would be being a 2nd or more likely 3rd tier tower priority customer on Sprint's physical network only....no access to roaming towers of any kind.

Did you hear what you just said.

You bought a 2015 phone and a rip-off plan.

>The catch would be being a 2nd or more likely 3rd tier tower priority customer on Sprint's physical network only....no access to roaming towers of any kind.
Boost actually has the same priority as their main MNO and other MVNOs. That's not why they suck. The reason they suck is because they use sprint networks which can become very congested because of all the unlimitedfags hogging the networks. The networks are fine it's just Sprint created boost which was a mistake imho.

>a 2015 phone
wow fucking ANCIENT. the newest phones are so cutting edge and not full of gimmicky bullshit, you'd have to be retarded not to buy one ;^)

You don't understand, it's a cursed year, even some 2013 phones are a better deal. And buying that crap when sd820 phones are already available...

2015 is 100 years ago in internet time

Funny you say gimmicks, they started exactly when qhd phones appeared(hint: it's late 2014, 2015). At least current phones have some objectively better features.

>tfw I'm still using the Note 4 and it's still overkill
:)

>using the smiley with a carat nose

SD or cuckxynos?

I've been all over Texas without much service issue. Usually a phone reboot or switching carriers fixes it.

In addition to your list, Hangouts sucks in my opinion, but I do like the ability to talk/text from my computer.
