Ok, let's talk about one of the most crucial parts in our battle machines, Sup Forums.

What's your current PSU?
What features are essential for you?
Favourite brands?

A PSU of mine is Corsair VS550, it's pretty nice, although it's poor PSU, considering the fact, that is Corsair's product. But I got it in very good condition for something like 35$.
>inb4 corsair vs series

dark power pro 11 650w platinum

best psu, k?

My old 15euro polish power supply burned yesterday after 4 years of use
I ordered aurum gold 600w from fps to replace it
VS 550 and aurum gold cost the same here [60-65 euro]

psus dont matter bc they dont make ur computer faster. i normally buy diablotek bc they are cheap and have a cool name

...

I hope this is a meme.
This MUST be a meme.
This guy.

I have an EVGA Supernova G2 750W. Super Flower OEM, top tier performance and a ten-year warranty, but the fan is noisy as shit once it gets going.

why do power supplies need a fan? And why are the few fanless models $900?

kek, that's obvious b8

>PSU Fan starts buzzing
>Get really scared
>Google it, find out I need to lube it
>Delay doing it a few days, in fear of bricking it
>Grab some leftover rather heavy lube oil
>Opening and removing the fan was really really easy
>Literally needed to remove 4 screws and some plastic
>Add lube
>Reseal
>Reattach
>Not even dangerous

only regret is that i didnt get a modular psu

they do not need fun, does your notebook use power supply with fan?[no]
It is just meme that someone made ''you need 12-14 fan user-chan] it is cheaper to do so company use this meme now and we will never have good no-fan ps

RM1000i
One of the best deals out there, together with the SnowSilent series
Corair recently upped them to lifetime warranty from 7 years.

if a psu is not silent is shit. think im going to get be quiet super power 8 500W, at least i can expect it to be quiet as it seems that's their thing. what are some other quiet psus?

>that gigantic mess of random cables being in the cabinet, and no way to remove them

there is a way but i dont want to just cut the shit

rm100i
250 dollarino
call it good deal
uses same components that 8dollar 500w ps
top kek
you better overload 500w supply to 1000w and get same effect cheaper

I have a Corsair RM1000i. I'm very happy with it, 90%+ efficient, excellent regulation, low ripple, fully modular and I can see the power draw of my computer live, which is pretty neat. 10 year warranty too.

PSUs (like every single electronic device) are not 100% efficient. This means more power is used from the wall than what goes into your components. That power is transformed into heat in your PSU. Since electronics only work within certain temperature ranges, the excess heat needs to be removed so they are kept cool, hence a fan is used.

There are PSUs that will shut down their fan when it's not required though.

I had VS550, swapped it for CS series, now my computer is quieter. But VS was cool, it haven't blown up after a year so i'm satisfied.

This is basically the best 750w you can buy and I need it because I run a 290x capable of 1200mhz core (that wants 1.4v) and a 8320e clocked to 4.7ghz at 1.428v.

For essential features? I'm not too worried about psu features beyond being fully modular all told. I can forgive a semi-modular unit but that still limits some cable routing options.

Fun fact: a lot of EVGA's psu lineup are rebranded SuperFlower units.

I sure as fuck won't be ever buying seasonic again. Their shit tier psu melts and the whole rma process was a complete nightmare. I've had better return processes with fucking ebay sellers operating out of their house.

Replaced my shit tier platinum 760w with a plat corsair ax860 made by flextronics.

I mean what the fuck, they literally got one guy (who happens to be rude as fuck by the way) doing the rma and when he goes on a 2 week vacation no rma gets processed? What the flying fuck? A year later I'm still mad.

Still alive.

How long you have it? It's reliable PSU, my brother own the 500w vx for like 5 years now.
