i would be blind if i didnt

The only meme when it comes to glasses are transitions lenses. I do have them though.

I used to but I get laser surgery

Pretty sure I'd be blind as fuck if I didn't wear my glasses, thick black rimmed ones are a meme however.

they're certainly a meme now that we've invented contacts that last essentially forever.

You can buy a one-day branded contact lens for about $1.30 and use it for three weeks before it degrades.

I've gotta wait till my eye graduation stabilizes before I get the eye surgery meem

I wear prescription ones, with frames that aren't retarded
I'll never wear contacts or get laser surgery because I like my broken eyes

They don't look too shitty though.

did it hurt? heard you have to keep your eyes open the whole time and it feels like something is pinching them. heard it really fucking hurts.

I've been thinking about trying contacts out but I have trouble touching my eyeballs

The flash made them look brown, but they're black in normal light.

-4 in each eye, and each year it gets -.25 worse on average.

Enjoy blindness fag

is Zenni a decent place to get frames? if not can someone recc me a decent place to get cheap frames?

>not using round frames

so edgy user

>round frames
hipster faggot

Sorry, but i dont want to look like Harry motherfucking Potter.

The eyes open part is true, it didn't hurted me but it feels like a very strong presion over your eye the whole time, also im pretty sure i smelled something getting burned, lIke meat with rubber

How's driving in the night? I heard they suck after surgery

>You can buy a one-day branded contact lens for about $1.30 and use it for three weeks before it degrades.
i also know a cool way to make crystals, let me dig up the infographic

I've found that my daily lenses will deform, even if they don't "set" properly in my eyes. I find that my current brand doesn't necessarily fit my eyes very well and this makes them much less comfortable, clear, and convenient than glasses.

I really want to get it but the drawbacks are essentially permanent, like shitty driving at night and worse close up vision

My mommy drove me home after that, she even served me some tendies after it for being such a good boy, but memes aside I couldnt see shit after 2 or 3 days, during that time it was like having petroleum jelly on the eyes the whole time

>meme
>literally make it so you dont need a second pair

My vision started getting worse and worse every year. And it stopped getting worse right on the borderline of needing glasses.

Is there anything cool I can do with glasses that would convince me to get them, Sup Forums?

Its only a meme because its fuckballs expensive.

>hipster faggot
Uh no Gordon Freeman glasses are hipster glasses.
>Harry motherfucking Potter
Try John goddamn Lennon

I lost some vision in my right eye after being attacked by animals, so I have to wear glasses.

>wanting to look retarded every time you step outside

these aren't round

>implying he said they are
Are you really that fucking retarded? Please if so go get some help, and learn what hipster glasses are.

Glasses are a fucking hassle and a pain in the ass specially if you are a kid, you always end up losing them or breaking them up for wrestling with your brothers, but I still would recommend you to go and check yourself because even if the glasses are such a pain in the ass I still prefer to have a perfect vision

You'll be able to actually see shit.

>be nerd kid with glasses
>step outside into the sunlight
>the matrix ending theme starts playing
>rocket into the sky as credits roll
seems like a good trade, tbqh

Also if you are an anime grill glasses will improve you aesthetics x 20, is a scientific fact

Seeing shit is a meme
>not memorizing your keyboard and cursor position because of your plebian eyesite.

>thinking transitions users ever go outside

>Me
>Luxottica employee

Ask me anything about glasses, sun, rx or rx sun

...

What do you think of the company?

How does it feel selling expensive plastic to white people and being such a fucking failure?

You make an intriguing point, user

most glasses look like goggles on me

I have to go for the shortest, widest, and thinnest pair in the store

the kind you see middle aged asian men wearing

it's bullshit

How is working for a fortune 500 company being a failure? Projecting much?

>I mop the floor at apple main offices
>I'm a winner at life
Kys

Although I'm not blind without them, I can't read or have to focus like mad. Thankfully my low graduation means they are cheap to make so I have a lot.

My problem with contacts is that anything in proximity to my eye will make me react and close them, I can't even use eyedrops properly.
So contacts are no go.

I have two pairs of "fashion" (aka expensive brand) glasses, which are intended for work but I rarely use.
I have pairs of shit 5 buck steel or whatever it is frame glasses that I have as back up or travel.
I have a pair of black thick rimmed nerd glasses because they are very comfortable on my nose unlike those with "feet". These ones get the most use at home.
I have a pair of giant thin rim glasses, kinda like 80s pedo look, because they are so large the rim doesn't get in the way.
The perfect pair would be a mix of the huge ones without feet.

You can see your ugly self properly in the mirror.
You can face the harshness of reality more clearly.
If you're a weeb you can do the gendo pose.
Some people dig people that wear glasses.

Ayyy lmao

I have the same fucking pair

My friends have pointed out that I do this all the time.

Dunno how to feel about that.

When you get glasses you will notice your head doesn't hurt as much and your not always sleepy due to all your squinting. After 10+ I finally made the jump I don't know why I didn't before

Embrace it. You are becoming one with 2D.

>and your not always sleepy due to all your squinting.

Oh fuck is that why I'm always sleepy

Yeah dude, glasses are a meme. So are condoms, button-up shirts, and mid-sized sedans. All memes.

Who /rimless/ here?

youtu.be/zyQB_eKMYg0

I'm actually glad I need glasses, I look a lot worse without them. Do people actually notice transitions like says? I never really thought about the fact that other people can see them.

rimless are for politicians or old people

the thing about transitions is that the frame design is shit tier
they have a distinct shit look to them
and yeah people notice them, dunno now but back in... 2007 or so, we used to laugh at a teacher because he used those
dunno if you can get transition glass on a better looking frame, I don't know if they sell the patent to make glass

Yes. There are frames that do not go well with shades, and pic related is one of them. All throughout high school, I saw people wearing transitions with those frames and all I can think about is how stupid they look.

I prefer glasses myself, but putting in contacts gets easier over time. It's literally just poking yourself in the eye. The first time I put them in, it took me half an hour but now it's like instinct

...

Forgot to mention that the way the hinges are constructed is actually a pain in the ass, my hair tends to catch in there (and then you need to pull it forward to get it out.)

>glass is meme
wew lad you missed /fa/

Shave your head, problem solved.

They are alright but god damn for some reason I hate sport branding in reading styled glasses.

I do internal systems support. Luxottica non business oriented are all contracted. You sound retarded

Drop the bottom of the rim .25~.5 inches and they'd be better for transition.
Larger lenses are better suited for it.

Pic related, larger lenses.

Hugo boss or nothing.

I work for ophthalmologists, just had my prk about 2 weeks ago. Happy to be rid of glasses till presbyopia

Only Java developers wears glasses. I can see sharp

I've been wearing my current pair of glasses for 8 years, there's some green slime on the nosepads and the lens coating has flaked off to the point where I can see it.

I have new glasses, but I don't want to wear them because the lens graduation is so intense it gives me migraines and I don't know if it will ever go away.

I need to clean my lenses

Fuck Luxottica!

...

I‘ve been wearing glasses my whole life. Due to very bad eyesight on one eye, it‘s expensive to thin the lenses. I‘ve had many glasses, but a few years ago I came by the Rodenstock R5263 and it‘s literally the best thing I ever had.

I don't because I don't need it.

Yeah man, being able to see shit is a meme.

transitions aren't polarized so they make shitty sunglasses

Contact lenses are a meme because they harbor the risk of allowing flesh eating bacteria to form since lens are a perfect habitat for them if the opportunity arises.

marc jacobs, don't know the model

yeah, started wearing them about 2 years ago, old age setting in.

actually getting a new pair this week - spend a bit of money on them rather than just free nhs ones, so should be nice.

I have glasses because my eyes arent the best. It's a bonus that they come with a bluefilter. I can live without them, its mainly for far away.

I should, but I don't wanna

Kek'd

>tfw everyone assumes that i am good with computers
I blame my glasses.

You guys should just buy your glasses from Costco which has a great return policy so if they fuck up your prescription glasses, it is really easy to return them and get a new replacement, hassle-free and you don't have to put up with useless expensive glasses that you can't return.

Also, watch this video of the reason why glasses are still so fucking expensive despite improvements in science and technology.

youtube.com/watch?v=voUiWOGv8ec

I hope you guys don't fall for the scam of designer glasses because they are all get produced in the same factory and only when the identical looking frames get spray painted or covered in cheap leather, do they suddenly jump 500% in price since they suddenly get classified as designer frames when the frames cost less than a dollar to make.

costco.com/optical.html

costco.com/lenses.html

costco.com/lens-materials.html

Just google some of the lenses terms or lens materials in these links and you will be an expert on glasses in no time.

I haven't been up to date on glasses tech in several years but like less than 30 minutes of googling made me aware of the kind of glasses you can buy these days.

Like did you know "Digital" Progressive Lens are the rage these days?

Instead of humans "shaving" your glasses these days, it is all done by robots and automation, making for more accurate glasses lens less prone to human error.

Also, if you stare at a monitor all day long, best to get those Computer Lenses which protect your eyes from glare and shit.

Really, just buy your glasses from Costco. You don't even need a Costco membership to buy glasses from them or see their Optometrist inside your local warehouse as well

And Costco has a policy of completely refunding you if the glasses you bought got fucked up in the manufacturing process or you just don't like your new Costco glasses at all.

Better yet, just buy glasses from places that get knock-offs from the factory. Exactly the same quality, about 10% of the price, and like you said the lenses are done by robots so just give them you prescription details and that's it

costcoconnection.com/connection/201407?pg=85#pg85

Costco produces their glasses in-house, though, right in America.

I prefer buying glasses made in America than ones made in China.

These are my daily drivers

hahah 4 eye faggots.

>tfw wife wishes I were blind because "I look sexy with glasses" and almost convinced me to wear a fake pair with my suit

How wearing glasses is a meme? That probably the most overused word on this board

from a hygene standpoint, lenses are a nightmare. If you spend more than 20 minutes a day outside actually doing stuff without washing your hands thoroughly every 5 minutes, lenses are awful.
Putting them in and taking them out before/after sleep and making sure they are in their special case-thing suspended in that weird liquid is also annoying compared to just taking of your glasses and putting them whereever.

>are glasses a meme
this shit has gone too far.

Yep, thinking about getting a nicer looking one

Thats why you use daily lenses faggots

Jesus sysadmin, you said you're 42 but you look like 60 to me

I have a dedicated set of prescription sunglasses (progressive), daily drivers (progressive), and computer glasses (single vision intermediate, pic related).

The progressive lenses cost shitloads though. They're $750 retail, $500 with discount for the lenses alone.

>abloo bloo zenni bloo bloo
Buying progressive lenses online is a meme, you need an additional measurement (the segment height) that is specific to a person's face and the given frame they're wearing. Zenni et al "guess" that you will be average. In high strength progressive prescriptions being off results in massive amounts of blurriness. If you have a low strength single vision prescription then buying glasses online is fine and you can save tons of cash.

Are JINS glasses any good?

LASIK and SMILE are technology.

I couldn't be happier since I got rid of my prescription glasses.

I purchased 6 pairs of glasses from korea. $30 to $70 each. Why arent you user?

In the same boat, I only just got glasses sorting out because I want to drive without killing people.
The biggest difference is the change in texture, you notice a big difference in the clarity of textures, which is why one of the first things people discover after getting glasses is "leaves on the trees" and such.

If you're anxious about it just consider the fact that it's not permanent, nothing is stopping you from getting laser surgery if you find glasses too cumbersome.

>look them up
>go to their website
>hipsters
>hipsters everywhere
