Can 7 zip zip and unzip rar files? Do they still refuse to provide an official OS X build?
why can I not update 7-zip from within 7-zip in [current year]
or preferably even check auto-update periodically and do it silently
>unzip rar files
No, but it can unrar them.
about fucking time, took them long enough
b-b-but muh macfags
Does it use a custom unrar or the official of rarlab?
Are those two the only changes? If thats the case, then its not worth to update.
>New Localization: Yoruba
Literally where? Sounds like some nigger-country that doesn't have electricity.
> southwestern Nigeria and Benin.
It purchases a WinRAR license, then downloads WinRAR, installs it, unrars the archive and removes WinRAR from your PC again.
>HISTORY of the 7zip
Winrar is free as in free beer.
We don't need a thread every time 7-zip gets an update, fuck off.
Neither do we need 3 mpv threads a day.
Care to point me to the post where I said we do?
>some bugs were fixed
ONly for 30 days.
No. It's still free after that period.
But illegal. That's like saying something is free (as in beer) because you can download a cracked copy of it.
Why is it illegal?
Don't mind this doofus, Winrar becomes nagware after 30 days, where after X amount of Winrar usages, it "reminds you" to register the software.
You can still use it forever, as long as you don't mind the "reminder"
Because you are requires to purchase a license if you want to keep using it after the trial is over. Just because you can still use it doesn't mean that you're allowed to.
(So much for "DRM does not increase sales", if you couldn't use it anymore after 40 days, a lot more people would buy it.)
>, it "reminds you" to register the software.
You're talking about the error popup that I close by pressing ESC? I never read that error popup and never agree with its content. SO is it still illegal?
You agreed to the (trial) license when you installed the software,
I dunno it's written in English and English has no legal value in my country.
That still does not make it freeware.
I don't pay for it. It's just not an open source program.
Freeware doesn't have anything to do with open source. What you're using is a shareware trial that fails to block you out when the trial's over.
It's free as in free beer so it's a freeware.
That's not how it works
That's how it works for me. And i pay them by shilling WinRAR everywhere.
No, you don't just get to redefine words.
Maybe one day, I will pay them a license.
Care to point me to the post where I implied you said we do?
