>why shoot yourself in the foot when you can shoot yourself in the head?

The illusion of control is comfy.

After all these years, I can still hear that fucker's snarky voice.

Whats the best non-botnet processor I can get?

a POWER8 CPU

Until we can fab our own processors, you can't even get free (as in freedom) hardware.

Verifyable hardware would be close enough

You can make your own processor now

with FPGA's you need not use proprietary hardware.

OCPD is finite, they just stop where they haven't given more thought.

Why do people here whine about freedumb and privacy while having bank accounts?

they think they are leet hackers when they build source coded by someone else, of which, they have zero ability (or ambition) to help improve but are more than willing to state they know the way it SHOULD be done.

any new projects that come out are met with universal criticism because those people are not contributing to existing projects then turn around and claim "muh freedom"

the Linux world is like the USA, ignorant populace and hostile to anyone who claims it could be better. wonderful and amazing in theory, but one of the worst executions imaginable.

Who are you quoting?

Some people are trying to make their own.

Nice meme, but you don't have to be raped by every company in existence just because you are forced to use proprietary hardware.

Because Roger,

The boat was expensive. I need to upgrade my boat at least every 5 years minimum.

I also pay a monthly fee to dock that motherfucker in the ocean.

Why the fuck should I also pay for fish?

I don't care about proprietary-free antagonisms, I just want highly customizable lightweight DE and powerful programming tools I don't have to pay a penny for.

Because, getting free (as in speech) hardware isn't as easy as you think. Better to use free software with open drivers whenever possible.

I am not I just like working in the command line with vim. Its nice and comfy.

It wouldn't be free enough to fall under stallman's autistic level of free.

And it would most likely be completely useless for daily use.

>400W CPU
No thanks.

>he doesn't know how to meme gud

Because hardware isn't free.

Dough was so fucking comfy. I still remember many episodes after 20 years

>can't afford electricity

>my power bill's more important than my freedom

who are you quoting?

newfag pls

DNA is proprietary.

Good thing I'm not alive then.

?

?

Oh, you mean the guy who refuses to use proprietary, non-free, NSA phones but will take a personal call on somebody else's?

...

>When I need to call someone, I ask someone nearby to let me make a call. If I use someone else's cell phone, that doesn't give Big Brother any information about me.
