>Support newest wacom drivers If it doesn't, you can always just build your own package. If you got the Intuos CTL-490 like I do (bought it on Sunday), the GUI settings don't work though, doesn't recognise it.
You can still use and configure it on the command line though. I've spent a couple hours today making a bash script to automatically set the tablet to the current window.
Benjamin Gray
Care to send me the source code? I'm not very good at programming.
Wyatt Thompson
I'll just put in some comments in first, and then put it in a pastebin. It's just cobbled together, and there's a few things I'd like to add later on.
why? supports osu, tf2, and actually has wacom drivers
Benjamin Clark
If you hadn't been paying attention, Linux has Wacom drivers too.
Parker Butler
It's basically Windows 10 but with less customization.

Too much time on your hands: Gentoo

Real serious coding, top-end server stuff and hacking: Arch

only that you have to build it and GUI doesn't always work and you have to fuck with it a lot in general or is it basically linux without bad parts? My comparison at least has a basis.
Wyatt Morales
>server >arch Really put it in too much time category. Or, mid quality bait.
Evan Ross
>only that you have to build it Nope, it was already in Slackware, probably in other distros too.
>and GUI doesn't always work GUI for the settings, the tablet still works.
>and you have to fuck with it a lot in general Nope, this script I'm doing is just so I can use it for my own specific purposes, and because the one I bought is just the latest model.
There was a one-line command that I could've used to just bind it to one of my monitors, but I decided to try this instead.

I have decided. Installing Ubuntu after checking if most of the programs I use are compatible.

Why should I change to Linux from Win 10? Seriously asking. Just because it's a bit faster and it does not have as many viruses? I'm starting to learn Python, would that be usefull?
Luis Robinson
Why have you done that? What are the pros and cons to windows?

No. Ignore the Pajeet shills. If you are interested in Linux, give it a try on the Live CD and see how you like it or install it on some old hardware. I really like my Linux install for working as it is a bit snappier than Windows, easier to maintain / update, has better tools for programming and I like to be able to customize it easily.
I only use my W7 install about once a week or so to play some games, but nothing else.
Owen Nelson
Lol anyone who thinks programming is actually easier on Linux doesn't actually program, they're wannabes who think os has any effect on coding ability.
Andrew Watson
Linux kernel has support for Wacom drivers already; simply enable it in modules.d. To play TF2 you will need dxtn and s3tc texture compression support so you will need a multilib distro, preferably one with those packages in repositories if you're a dumbass. osu! requires wine and a few tricks to reduce X input latency and minimize mouse acceleration as well. Also, >I got home from school kill yourself underaged gaymer fag
John Moore
Is mouse acceleration a thing in Linux? Also, true, I am underage.
Asher Sullivan
post jailbait cock
Levi Thompson
Mouse acceleration is enabled by X by default, and to be honest it feels more natural than in Windows, so I leave it on; however, it can be disabled using xset or by config file in xorg.conf.d. Based on your needs, you might as well get OS X.

It works perfectly through wine. Sadly doesn't make it a good game.

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
You need to use every distro for a few months before you can tell anybody which is best. Given the huge number of distros availabe, this would mean you would need to use dozens simultaneously on a revolving schedule, and 24/7/365. Arch is best.

Steam works fine on it and supports a number of games without resorting to using wine.
Isaiah Kelly
b-but I was shitposting so you get mad and tell me to go back to Sup Forums
>indie trash and badly made AAA ports that use D3DtoOGL wrappers. Not saying linux is better for games right now but windows's biggest "feature" which is exclusivity and market lock-in is growing weaker. The thing is that now those who use linux can play a good number of videogames without depending on windows and i'm not even counting games that works in wine or emulators. If the egg-chicken situation breaks at some point it'll be beneficial even for windows users because at this moment windows is practically a monopoly.
Aiden Watson
s-sorry, g-go back to Sup Forums now!!! :)

Thanks friend :^) Have a (You)

t-thanks for your (You), take a (you) for you too my friend :)
see /flt. tf2 runs on a linux-native install of steam. dont know about osu, but probably works fine with wine/ help of playonlinux winfriend-friendly distros: mint, manjaro mint/budgie/xfce, xubuntu with a little hassle
Dominic Hughes
It's GNU/Linux. You should have used the GNU head in your OP.
Alright, Osu! Works in WINE. Google OSU! wine. You should google things and learn to resolve them yourself.
Wacom works fucking great in GNOME. So install Ubuntu GNOME or Debian Jessie with GNOME and open the settings and there should be wacom settings.
Good luck. Just remember it's GNU/Linux.

How can you expect anyone to believe it's been removed when it's closed source software? FUCK OFF, OSUDEV.
Jose Miller
Hopefully you don't have a hardware problem. Linux wouldn't help you there.
Maybe try out the new Ubuntu. Xubuntu or Ubuntu Mate are some good choices if you don't like the official spin.
One reason I would recommend Ubuntu over something like Debian is that it would be easier for a first time user to get up and running with the latest proprietary drivers, and it sounds like you're a gamer so that's probably more what you're looking for.
Adam Cruz
Peppy intends to release the source code for the osu!client soon. Then, if you desire, you can make a port of the osu!client with the nonexistent "spyware" removed.
