It works on my new macbook, I used madvr before but I can't see real difference, it was just an annoying and ugly tray icon for me...
>vo_opengl: always autoselect ANGLE as backend if available
>github.com
I love mpv because it has much better meme filters.
Thanks haasn and igv, you are my new heroes.
if anyone can share best setting for mpv to watch chinese cartoon, im happily to switch.
Emilia doesn't even know what mpv is, you idiot. Why would she be holding its logo? That pic is fake as fuck.
Wow! Are you like, a scientist or somefink?
>intel graphics update this morning
>now my mpv with dxinterop is broken
ffs
no need to use dxinterop anymore
mpv:
>a single integrated video player, simple install, no plugins to set up
>issues on Windows due to use of OpenGL
>free and open source software, developed by a team of people interested in improving the state of video playback
>highest quality video renderer on OS X and Linux by a fair margin, competitive with madVR on Windows
>implements video filters based on a solid understanding of signal theory
>automatic color management
>no GUI, requires an understanding of command-line interfaces and text-based config
>based on a mature codebase, but changes rapidly
>shilled relentlessly on Sup Forums by autistic fanatics
madVR:
>one part of a complicated system of plugins required for high quality video playback with DirectShow
>just werks on Windows due to use of Direct3D
>no support for other operating systems
>admittedly selfish developer, highly protective of his source code and ideas, only interested in self-promotion
>implements meme filters from doom9 that have no real grounding in theory
>fairly mature software, slow development
>shilled relentlessly on Sup Forums by autistic fanatics
>issues on Windows due to use of OpenGL
not true anymore
Yeah, hopefully ANGLE is the end of mpv's Windows problems. I'm just waiting for it to ship in a release build.
plex/mpv > emby/madvr
Why plex media player is so shitty!
Do I have to pay $$$ for having highres covers?
how stable is the latest build for windows, mpv-i686-20160411?
It should be pretty stable. That's a release build of mpv 0.17.0.
ITT: Lincuck autists all butthurt because madvr isn't available for their useless OS
But madvr < mpv, so why the fuck are you saying nonsense?
This is the original... Haasn's face?
Can you use CrossBilateral, SuperChromaRes, and SuperRes1 at the same time, I get multiple [vo/opengl-hq] Pass has no hooked textures (will be ignored)! errors when I do.
I'm using the latest BitBucket build on Windows 10
Haasn is a paranoiac anime faggot but we still love him.
not an error, just a warning, you can ignore it
Even windows media player is better than freetard garbage like MPV.
You need eye surgery now tiny winfag!
mpc-hc it plays my kdrama perfectly
Its development is dead...
If I use mpv, do you think cute lolis will talk to me?
wut did not know that
Yes, sure. ;)
Madvr is still better and has useful features:
forum.kodi.tv
>Over 18 and still watches anime
>>admittedly selfish developer, highly protective of his source code and ideas, only interested in self-promotion
madshi has also expressed creating a "premium" version of his renderer with more features for some fee.
It's better than watching dumb cartoons like you. ;)
How to do it with the so great mpv lua scripting?
if (srcWidth > 1920) "2160p"
else if (srcWidth 1080) "2160p"
else if (srcWidth > 1280) and (srcWidth
What the fuck are you trying to do?
Create a preset/specific vo for 2160p, 1080p, 720p and sd file.
I don't think you could change the actual VO (yet), but you could certainly change the VO options.
Make a hook on "file-loaded", check the width/height there, then run a specific "vo_cmdline" string.
I might write a lua script like this later, it seems useful
Great!
mpv has everything,and more
I usually change sharpen strength in these presets.
The problem with mpv user-shaders is that we have to copy/paste shader and change strength values.
Not a big problem but why not having something like that:
user-shaders="~~/adaptive-sharpen.glsl":user-shaders-options="curve_height=2.0"
No deringing or built-in display framerate switcher...
I swear the thing holding this player back from popularity is you neckbeards who think it shouldn't have a UI
madvr = ugly ui
mpv = nice ui
FUD
github.com
>xrandr script
>Automatically sets the display refresh rate to the one best suitable for the video played
>antiringing shader
>This is basically the equivalent (with some caveats) of mpv's built-in antiringing shader.
deringing != antiringing
This antiringing shader is a joke... and doesn't work like madshi's deringing.
>and doesn't work like madshi's deringing.
It's pretty much a copy of madshi's antiringing, with slight modifications to make it more efficient.
really funny

How do i edit mpv?
1. download the source code
2. open it in a text editor
3. recompile
Any idea what could be causing this? Is it the save position thing?
Mpc is best
I tried all other video players but none of them can compete to VLC.
AR Deringing
When will lachsOr add Angle support to the builds?
Is there any reason to switch from the kawaii codec pack mpchc to move? I'm not especially beholden to it but if MPVs better I'd switch in a heartbeat
There is no harm in trying.
I just switched from madvr and it's good.
It took some time to tune interface and binds to my liking, but it was worth it.
>vlc
>internal codecs
>bloated gui
>bloated interface
>missing a shit ton of daily use features
mpv+youtube-dl+livesreamer
In the next stable release, I hope.
Any day now. It's been almost two month now since last release.
Which is your favourite one and why?
- Emby Theater (madvr)
- Kodi VideoPlayer
- MediaPortal (madvr)
- Plex Media Player (mpv)
They're both great. madVR is the best, but it's sadly closed source. That alone is the reason I use mpv instead with NNEDI placebo.
Nah mpv is much better, almost everything in madVR is broken.
Not sure if best, but put this wherever your config file is at

Minidlna because i dont need all that unneeded bullshit.
Covers? I added the media to my media server,i know what it is.
Useless metadata? Again i added the media,i know what it is.
My kodi multimedia collection:
- 1000+ movies
- 200+ tv shows
- 100+ anime series
- 200+ concerts
- 2000+ music videos
- 400+ albums
- 800+ porn movies
- 300+ hentai
- 400+ documentaries
Having everything in a nice gui with fast and efficient search engine is essential!
> slang=jpn,jp,Japanese,eng,en,English
ISO 639-1 for Japanese is ja, not jp.
> [extension.webm]
> loop-file=inf
Didn't know that you can do that. Thanks, user.
>ISO 639-1 for Japanese is ja, not jp.
That's good to know. Thanks.
Kodi for life, it has all useful mpv feature aka spline36 scaler.
You don't need anything else...
You're implying somethings in here:
>Not everyone uses 5.1 audio setup
>nnedi3 needs a recent mid-high end tier card, which not everyone has
sub-gauss=.8
sub-gray
Does this works with mkv's? Isn't this only for VOBSubs?
ISO 639-1 is for DVD's, which is "ja" and ISO 639-2 is for MKV. which is jpn.
Nnedi3 is great because I watch stuff on 1440p. Uses 90% of my 980 ti max settings.
How do I optimize mpv for my desktop? All I've done so far is change the OSC and som keyconfigs, but I want to make sure it produces the best quality my PC is capable of.

The best combo to have perfect playback experience.

No interpolation? Ha.
Post your config file
MadVR, what else?
mpv from the command line because I'm not a stinking pleb
That looks like it would take a shit loads of time to get it configured.
>Having everything in a nice gui with fast and efficient search engine is essential!
What can you do from a GUI that you can't do from a command line?
Also, ‘locate’ is fast enough for me.
mpv cured my cancer
mpv a best
> using a keyboard in his sofa.
>what is ssh over phone
I'm sitting on couch and using my controller to control mpv.
Really? ^^
yes,even vnc overphone
SailfishOS
What about your family?
They are really using ssh?
Your shit is sold out...
Why is my family trying to watch videos from my collection of illegally downloaded chinese pornotoons on my TV?
Because it's fun.
My wife learned a lot of things from "pornotoons"!
How comes that you have more hentai than actual anime series?
Cause all those numbers are false.
Thats clearly over 50tb+
>implying isn't possible to have 50 Tb of data
>implying there is a case big enough to hold to 10x5tb drives
>implying the motherboard has 10 sata ports on it,and not on a shitty fake raid controllers
>implying you need a raid for this to make any sense
>implying he knows what raid is
>implying you want to spend 1k for a 12 port raid card
I have 70tb+ of RAW photos.
Cheap amazon cloud storage.
