Got a Chuwi hi8 pro myself, 3:2 is definately better. Wide aspect ratios are nice on monitors but on tablets it's more prefered to get a more square screen.
Still isn't bad though, Android functions great with a vertical resolution, it's mostly Windows which can profit of the aspect ratio.

Yes you do for this phone at least all the guides for rooting without unlocked bootloader don't work. You know the phone should just work I didn't install anything other than clover. I didn't put any weird shit on it and yet somehow it mysteriously doesn't work. I even reflashed legit miui on there. I shouldn't have to root/unlock bootloader to figure an issue out

In a pinch, a lamp light (the bendy adjustable ones) with a white LED bulb (Should be indicated on the box as like "sky blue" or something like that) and a piece of printer paper taped in front of the bulb works wonders. If the printer paper obscures too much light, notebook paper works too. Not sure how much of that you can get on chinksites.

Check the yongnuo led lights, if you live in the USA you can get them from Amazon or ebay, if not just look for them on aliexpress. You will nightstands and some NP batteries or the AC converter
