>O shit ! plan ruined.
>Proceeds to use vpn anyway
>"They're too stupid , they won't monitor me"
>Internet access suspended for 2 months
>FUCK

>going to a Christian university
>not just buying your own internet

Who are you quoting?

>going to a university that blocks worse than a helicopter mom
>not knowing that there was something wrong
Honestly, you fucked up and its your fault, transfer to a real university or kill yourself.

Also
>internet access suspension exists in an actual university
What drugs were you on when you were taking a tour of the for-profit uni?

^

>Download stuff
Mostly screwed for that, but for general browsing, Tor with a bridge will suffice

>not knowing green text

What shit tier university do you go to?

>being a newfag

>Myself .

in this post: things that never happened

Any public university only blocks torrenting because they'd get bitched at by copyright companies all the time if they didn't.

What shit-tier university do you go to?

>>learns that all websites are blocked except FB,Twitter,Google & Wiki
that happened.

What kind of shit tier university did you go to? I pirated anime everyday in my dorm and never got so much as an e-mail warning me about downloading, and they had anything related torrent on lock down.

it's a quote faggots .
Like hell this would happen .. Could it? could such a shit tier university exist ?

>he fell for the university meme

>Shitty university threatens to suspend Internet access for using a VPN.
>"I work at/intern at a company that requires me to use a VPN."

/thread.

>go to public university
>torrent shit all the time and never get in trouble

Kek

i don't believe, nobody is going to detect that you have a VPN

>nobody is going to detect that you have a VPN
not OP but VPNs are blocked on my ISP.

I torrent and use tor all the time but cannot use any VPN. I have tried 6 different ones.

>connecting to foreign Wifi networks

TOP KUK

>not OP but VPNs are blocked on my ISP.
how da fuq is that even possible?

there has to be other ways around it obvioiusly

after a few minutes they just stop working. And I cannot ping the relay IP. I assume they have some sort of adaptive blocklist that disables them once they are detected

do you live in tiananmen square by any chance?

Literally all you have to do is capture handshakes and bruteforce the passwords. I did it. Got 2 usernames.

My school's passwords are 10 digit numbers. 6 is a birthday. 4 random. Assuming the person is at most 30 years old, then the combinations are at most 12(month)*31(day)*12(year) *10^4 =44640000. At 1000 computations a second, it'll take half a day to find the password. Leave it on for as long as you care. To crack all your handshakes.

If your school forces you to create a password, use a rainbow table or dictionary attack

How the fuck hard was that?

I think there's a way to rig up a vpn where it makes it look like you are visiting just 1 site everytime. So like i think you can rig it up to make it look like you are visiting the schools twitter everytime but u are actually logging into your vpn. I don't remember off hand but either way if you are downloading a ton of shit that's going to get noticed regardless but for just random browsing i think it's possible to mask your traffic in such a way that it looks like you're connecting to a whitelisted ip.

>university with EU tier internet filters
>"""education"""
you should sue them for restricting your learning

Got two passwords*

>Get caught
>Already have been a retard and got a 2 month ban
>Liable to get expelled
OP should just suck it up and wait out the 2 months. But he does go to a shit uni

are you torrenting over tor? if so you're a fuckstick and I hope you die.

most public wifi is open, with a login over https that whitelists your MAC, so all you have to do is spoof someone elses MAC

Randomize mac addresses and computer name each time???

How on earth would they know it's you

This too

Yes you probably could get away with it, but OP is a fuckstick and would probably mess up. It's just not really worth the risk imo. Are you actually in university that much you really need the internet?

I sometimes do shit in lectures but other than that I do all my work at home

Probably more than just a 1 time authentication. Would need to not only spoof the mac but also know the unique login creds associated with that mac

>gigabit internet
>can literally only use it for normie websites
what's the fucking point then?

Some of these chucklefucks live in dorms and shit cause they're a dipshit and don't realize that you can get student loans to pay for a cheaper loft or studio where you could get your own internet.

Ah I see, that would suck then

what is usenet?

you'd have to find a new MAC every 24 hours or whatever the timeout is

Why would that be the case? You'd need to use laptop and phone on the same time a lot. At most, you could spoof a random Android name

lots of users?

if it's a relatively small university, you could have everyone streaming youtube at the same time and it'd be fine

IT guy is running a cp website on the network.

>at university
>computer science major
>have to log in to university account and run configuration software just to get on network in dorms
>torrents are instantly blocked and account is suspended
>kek use xdcc for most of the year
>one day no internet all of a sudden
>they have me bring my whole pc to a judicial hearing
>everything is on an external
>only thing they have on me is a flag for a "suspicious irc message" of some russian movie somebody in my channel must have been searching
>nobody has any clue what theyre talking about in the hearing, I just keep my mouth shut about the whole thing
>took them a week to process the hearing and give me internet back

why are you greentexting in the third person?

>university also has gigabit internet
>use uni for torrent and other random DLing
>no registering for internet usage, aside from Wifi use being attached to your account
>use wired ethernet all I want, no restrictions
Would feel bad man, but am currently drunk and would recommend you come here so we can party up.

>move into dorm with my hacked together gayman rig
>ethernet does not work, both jacks in room are fucked
>get a maintenance man to come and fix my ethernet
>he's mirin my 3 different monitors and loud ass tower
>"Don't tell anyone but I uncapped your ports"
>Gigabit ethernet
>torrent all the time
>start torrenting porn packs from IPT
>Downloading >100GB's of porn a day
>jack off with my roommate 10 feet away from me

And that's how I became addicted to porn

>got accepted full ride to elite american university with fatass stipend for spending on anything
>read multiple stories about people getting kicked out for torrenting

I went to a state school with ZERO regrets

>>Internet access suspended for 2 months
for what?

>and they had anything related torrent on lock down.
if you piped it over a VPN i doubt they care unless you start hogging all of the bandwidth

>Getting my tires changed at Tires Les Schwab this morning.
>Use Guest Wifi to see what my ol' friend user is doing on Sup Forums
>See this.

I tried to explain to the sales manager this is a blue board.

This. You should be torrenting over i2p

>Go to uni
>Have to register MAC under dorm room connection
>Don't torrent shit because not a dumb
>Use XDCC for anime
>Pirate one or two games on phone with unlimited data cap
>Do this for a year straight, no issues
>Get cash
>Setup a VPS, for a website, and turn it into a cheap seedbox
>SCP everything through uni wired connection
>Always get ~2-4MB/s and never had a complaint for the entire time there
Here's a dumb question: if I connect via SSL, and assuming the bots are connected via SSL, are DCCs encrypted?

>I tried to explain to the sales manager this is a blue board.

>Use XDCC for anime

They will know

Check and see if your uni runs any linux distro mirrors. I can update my arch setup at GIGABIT SPEED in the cafe in the building where the server is.

In what kind of 3rd world shitholes do you guys live?

>go to university
>use the internet
>250Mbit for each user
>download 17GB of StarCraft
>torrent other stuff
>shitpost on the fourchins
>nobody gives a fuck

If you are in a dorm there is nothing stopping you from paying for your own internet connection outside of the university network.

What is your upstream speed?

Hey, I was wondering, has firefox got better performances than opera on mobile ? This not supposed to be a bait or shit.

>implying green text is only for quotes

>uni
>download a bunch of torrents
>get bored, download NBA finals game 3 in HD since I missed it
>takes me 20 mins

>'we would like a word with your employer then'

>going to university
>have 100MBit at home
>no reason to really use uni internet
>they don't block anything, but you have to login for wifi (but apparently not when using LAN?)

I went to a fucking Augustinian school and they didn't care what we did, they just used a Fortinet Analyzer to monitor all our traffic to see if anyone was planning massive underage parties or selling drugs.

They did, however, for my last two years install a NAC called SafeConnect that blocked torrenting, rogue APs, etc. It was possible to defeat it with passive fingerprinting. IT passive aggressively told me that they knew what I was doing (since my user had not logged into the NAC for over a year and yet somehow I still got email) but didn't care. The NAC was to prevent morons from having shitlloads of malware fucking up the network and to meet antipiracy obligations under the HIgher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 that required colleges to take certain antipiracy measures if they wanted to continue receiving federal funding.

How would he even do that

Nobody cares even if you torrent anime.

>make speedtest
>ethernet card slower than internet connection

noice

>Have to use login to access eduroam
>be fucked cause they can monitor everything and link it back to login even if i spoof mac or do whatever magickery

What if you use the wired connection?

I don't have one, so I can't

>Paying to pirate

I'm self-employed :^)

>I tried to explain to the sales manager this is a blue board.
Thanks for the laugh

I have used some US university networks as part of my ongoing research and development, as representative samples of extremely hostile networks to test internet censorship countermeasures.

They make for an interesting "Nightmare mode" if you plough through the easy-mode Blue Coat and Smartfilter stuff used by Iran/Syria/Tunisia/UAE/etc, and you won't get acceptable feedback from China's Golden Shield because you're not working at scale high enough for them to bother targeting probes. University IT departments are frequently willing to be, compared to nation-states, dramatically more hostile to the users (including pissed-off tenured faculty members) in terms of network access and taking aggressive measures that others would not take because of extraordinarily high false-positive rates.

And of course they're much less threatening in truth to the intrepid research participants than said nation-state governments, which could get them in actually serious trouble.

I really like the Raspberry Pi 3.

One especially notorious example has been the extreme fundamentalist Christian "Liberty University" - based in a town called Lynchburg, their logo has a burning book, and the chancellor is Jerry Falwell. Seriously.

How did you manage to do that while forgetting to place dots at the end of your sentences?

>all websites are blocked except FB,Twitter,Google & Wiki
that literally can't be true. academic papers are hosted all over the place. grad students couldn't get any work done if the campus wifi only allowed them to shitpost.

this sounds like when a little kid complains as he flips through channels that nothing's on when in reality he means that none of the channels he's on has spongebob squarepants on.

>not knowing those are called meme arrows

You significantly underestimate the hubris of some university IT departments.

Individual departments may well host their own connections to avoid them sometimes.

That kind of bullshit is rare, but happens.

>>nobody is going to detect that you have a VPN
>not OP but VPNs are blocked on my ISP.
>I torrent and use tor all the time but cannot use any VPN. I have tried 6 different ones.

Have you only tried SSL VPNs or have you tried IPsec too? Does your ISP block website SSL connections? Do they force you to configure for a proxy?

Shit, they can do that to you?

You don't shitpost at a public internet connection. What's so difficult about this?

>Individual departments may well host their own connections to avoid them sometimes.
i worked tech support at my undergrad. that's not true. you must be at some scam university or something, because there's no way a real university would let a department (or even an entire school, which houses several departments) run with their own separate ISP.

stop going to a scam university.

Why do they allow Google if all of the search results will point to blocked websites?

>They make for an interesting "Nightmare mode" if you plough through the easy-mode Blue Coat and Smartfilter stuff used by Iran/Syria/Tunisia/UAE/etc, and you won't get acceptable feedback from China's Golden Shield because you're not working at scale high enough for them to bother targeting probes.

I was showing a buddy how to use Nessus and Openvas a while back. He got the wise idea to point them at China's allotted IP space. He had fios and his little actiontec router had to be replaced a few days later. What ever they did back really fucked it up. I really wish I had something in front of his router that could have given me a port tap into a traffic analysis device before he did it but I didn't hear about the incident until after his router was replaced, and he refused to do it again.

>Does your ISP block website SSL connections?
this exists?

There is no way in hell that that is a thing. You couldn't even use internet banking.

Where can I learn this shit?

Still have to login on ***roam

>I really like the Raspberry Pi 3.
Is this relevant?

>There is no way in hell that that is a thing. You couldn't even use internet banking.

So? That's not the university's problem.

Ahh summerfags, never change, your delusions are highly entertaining

It should be publicized so people will think twice before enrolling in such a """"university""""

filename

people that set up a University network are smarter than you, big fucking surprise

I work at a UC. We don't block torrents. We will send you a scary sounding letter that doesn't mean anything if we get a legal complaint, though.

He doesn't need to do it on spot, if it was true the guy was a total bro and fixed with switch/router settings
