Hi Sup Forums, I recently saved a couple of pictures from deviantart, and at first they seemed fine, but the next time i check them on my hard drive to look at them, I get this message, and the pictures have dissapeared from the thumbnails.
I think they might be corrupt and thats why I can't open them anymore. Is it possible to correct an image? Or to download the image again from deviantart after its been deleted?
Dunno much about picture formats but you could try replacing the header by the right one for that format.
First try opening it in a decent image viewer

As for the picture, the original source for it is gone, so i cant get a new one. So if it is possible to save this picture, i would to try.

I did that just now, and its says it can't open it cause the file appears to be damaged, corrupted or too large.

Oh man that sucks, oh well, most of the pictures i found back, so i guess its not that big a deal if i cant replace one picture. Guess i'll look into getting a new external hard drive too. Any recomendations? Also what are otther good ways to back up your pictures?
To back them up on another hard drive and use an online storage site too.

The only time I've had images corrupt is when transferring from android phone via usb.

Just checked it in a bunch of libraries, it really is corrupted (isn't identified as any type of file).

I notice that sometimes it happens when I switch my hard drive from one computer to another. I have two computers at home, and sometimes i switch it when i need to do work on my work computer and i need to look up referance images for art.

Try archive.org, I'm on my phone so I'm too lazy myself. You could Google the filename or title, sometimes people archive porn to other sites.
I tried that as well, it doesn't find it, does find other pages from that gallery though, but I can't login to my deviantart account on the wayback machine
