Gtx 970

>gtx 970
>fans are perfectly clean, spin easily, not obstructed by cords or debris
>temps are well within operable range, nowhere near overheating
>room is so cold i need a blanket and still shake sometimes
>playing any game more intensive than terraria has it sound like its dying with fans going 800mph
what do

replace thermal paste?

its a graphics card not cpu you dum

I hope this is bait

>970

found the problem. shoulda saved up a tad more for the 980

this is normal for nvidia graphics cards. i have to limit fps for everything on my 760 in order for it to not smell like burning CDs

rma

I do have a 970.
It's perfectly silent

You might wanna adjust your fancurve

You got to be kidding right?

His assumption is not 100% wrong since manufacturers use thermal pads too which need to be replaced after disassembly.

you still need thermal paste on the GPU dye lol

I know this isn't Sup Forums but i just got quads

If the fan is loud just adjust the fan curve
Precision X and Afterburner can do that iirc

And I am not denying that.

Also checked.

Build a cabinet for your 'poota.

Insulate it and enjoy the silence...

Eh?

Or you could have just buy a less shit case with sound dampening foam.

Nothing beats an acoustically isolated cab.

No need to use a vacuum layer and a floating box design, but the results are awsome. An old P4 Northwood with failing fans is totally inaudiable when placed inside.

Gigabyte? How much does that give in boost, like 1500MHz?

ASUS
1478MHz to be precise.

Yeah faggot. My GPU temps are in the low 30s when I'm not utilizing my GPU.

At least show us your temps when you GPU is stressed out

Can you see the MAX value in red?

Do you have a reference card?

Here is mine

Sounds to me like there's a problem with the fan's bearing. If it's still under warranty you might need to send it in.

This make the first thing you do with a new GPU is change the default fan curve, almost all default curves are too weak and cause thermal problems or too strong and cause way too much noise when it's not hot

Change it so it's low then at about 70c the fan curve rises up way higher and maxes out 100℅ at around 85/90c

If the Temps are high the fans can't dissipate the heat. If the Temps are low you just need to adjust the fancurve. Which model do you own exactly?

Watercooling?
Pushed mine to +200/+500
Temperature reached 67

They use thermal pads on VRAM and VRMs, not on the GPU.
The GPU has paste.

Thermal pads are reusable unless you completely fuck them up.
