Itsssssssssss a scam
The name I wanted for my informational website was only available in .info which seemed okay.
I was willing to pay 300 dollars for the .com but nothing more. But looking at sedo it looked like they were going to ask 3000 dollars, 200 times more than a regular registration costs.
So I just picked another name. So I dont have to feel scammed.
Pretty much all of the new TLDs are awful. A few of the new ones are actually slightly harmful for business.
I do like the new .one though. It's easy and generic.

Most of them are probably related to filesharing I'd imagine

Got a .com address years ago to use for my email. Will it get me laid?
>It actually exists
I guess it's only for a year. Still, .xyz domains are pretty cheap.
>the xyz was free
Well that explains why I get so much spam from randomly generated .xyz domains
