Someone threw away a computer, had a i7 3770 inside it. Took that fucker off.

LGA 1155 motherboards are a bitch to find, everything second hand is stupidly overpriced and the only new one I could find was a H61 with only 2 DDR3 slots.

These processors are still worth a little, right?

i5 4670k @ 4GHz
i7 3770 @ stock

I have a 4690 non K. Would not really improve my rig but in some applications it might actually go past.

It'll be pretty much a wash. If you bench yours it won't be much behind my stock-volt overclock since you have a 3.9GHz turbo. So it's not gonna be worth sourcing parts if your goal was an upgrade.

Give it back, Tyrone

If it was "Tyrone" he'd have a working computer, not a part out of one.

I was thinking of selling it. I think the processor can fetch something like $120.

He's a little right, though, I did take it without permission. It was going to trash but I wasn't allowed to take recycled electronics, not even parts. Probably because some tyrone did something to cause a ban.

But it's better with me than at a junkyard. They won't know what to do with it.

You could always do BCLK overclock.

4.3Ghz 3770K here.

You're probably not gonna get a buyer at that, but it's certainly worth something.

Electronics recycling is a big business. They don't want you taking anything because the stuff is actually worth money.

It's a Dell.

damnit Tyrone, give it back.

I know it's big business, but they pretty much just dump stuff in the bins, shit will break and so. Much of the stuff is useable still.

I think it's just going to get dumped at the junkyard instead of going to some company that picks the cherries out.

>overclocking

>oc'd 3770k to 5.1GHz
>45C idle
>60C running games

god damn that thing was a monster. Why the fuck didn't I get a z77 matx just in case my next cpu would be trash

p.s.

IT WAS ; - ;

>You could always do BCLK overclock.

Yeah but most CPUs locked up after you bumped up the bclk by more than 1mhz.

What kind of an igloo do you live in where it goes only to 60c under load?

Proof or it's bullshit.

I've got an Asus P8P67 Pro lying around I could sell you. Want it?

You can have like $40 and shipping.

$40 plus shipping? Ya, that's fine with me.

How does that happen? I mean, I have AM2+, AM3, and LGA1156 because with a 4670k and 3770 it's not really worth keeping them running, but Sandy/Ivy still run with the best.

The CPU died, so I rather than buy a 2 gen old cpu, I upgraded both. I had an i5 2500k before though, and ya, it was great.

24/7 high voltage overclock?

give that kid his computer back, tyrone

Water damage.

I swear it wasn't my doing.

>3.5+5GB

GODLY

you can only bclk overclock consistently on old nehalem/core 2 chips and skylake.

enjoy your defective sata controller
