GTX 1060

What will Nvidia do with the 1060? What do we know about it so far?

after seeing how the 480 might perform with that $200 pricing, how will nvidia react when they usually release xx60s around $200+

It may be pretty interesting. If the 1060 is similar to the 480 it would damage sales of the 1070 ALOT.

I don't think they have any other choice but to price it low and compete with the 470

The 1060 will be probably like 40-50$ more expensive than the 480 but it's performance will be significantly better, so most people will bite the bullet, scrounge up the extra cash and go with the better product instead of the cheaper one.

It is unfortunate but AMD has no chance whatsoever.

Wouldn't that be too close to the 1070?

>it's performance will be significantly better

I don't think so and even if that's true it would be too close to the 1070 performance which will kill the 1070

Not him (cuz' I don't believe it), but that would be around $300 if it has more than 4GB RAM considering the 480 4GBhas a MSRP of $199. The 1070is minimum $379 and actually at $450 right now. There's some margin there for pricing in case you didn't realise NVidia was jewing out.

I meant in terms of performance.

this is my guess

they might have to go carefully in between the 480 and 470 maybe price around $180 but I don't see nvidia releasing a 60 series card below $200

Which is why I don't believe it. I think they'll let the the 1060 have lower performance than the 480 and if needed lower the prices of the 1070.

Nah, the 1070 is too strong. It beats the Fury silly, the 480 has got nothing on it. Basically what nvidia has to do, and I think it will, is carry out the ultimate gambit: as AMD peddles the 480 as an excellent mid-range card for 200$, nvidia will release the 1060 like a month later and will turn out to be better in the benchmarks, maybe more quiet whatever.

It's like when AMD released the 390 it crushed the 970, people felt guilty for being the shitty 3,5vram meme card. This time around nvidia will make the 480 look like the lesser card with the 1060.

These fucking kikes have it all figured out. God help AMD, they need it.

the 1060 doesn't look like it be all that powerful compared to the 480 though I heard that it only has 192 bit bus

the same shit they usually do, the 1060 will be a hairline above the 480 but $50 more ($225 if they're smart).

1070 should be dropped to $300 and 160 $190

>What will Nvidia do with the 1060? What do we know about it so far?
Nothing. Nvidia don't have any 1060s. It'll take years for them to catch up.

Nvidia has no mid-range cards.
Nvidia has no async compute.
Nvidia has no VR backpack.
Nvidia has no HBM.
Nvidia has no future.

Nvidia is finished and bankrupt.

>1070 should be dropped to $300

maybe in a year

>nvidia on the top of all charts
>no future

ayy lmao

the 480 totally fucked nvidias shit up they will need to gimmick their way out of it

Do RAM sticks really need those giant heatsinks? Or could I buy RAM without a heatsink and hopefully save a little bit of money?

Do you plan on overclocking? if not no need.

When will the 1070 and 1080 be all available and not sold out?

>192bit bus

1060 confirmed DOA

>bus meme

>Nvidia has no mid-range cards.
1060 and 1050 havent been announced yet and theres no rush.
>Nvidia has no async compute.
Enjoy those extra 5 frames in 1 game that no one plays.
>Nvidia has no VR backpack.
Best cards for VR,
>Nvidia has no HBM.
1070 is the 2nd fastest card on the market and has only 250gb/s bandwidth. RAM bandwidth is meme.
>Nvidia has no future
k

looks like there gonna have to go head to head with the 480

the high speed ones do but not all of them obviously
speed=heat
duh.

>Best cards for VR
You wish, Nvidiot.
AMD give you premium VR performance for $200 and VR backpacks. Nvidia just can't compete.

>premium

bare minimum*

ftfy

>nvidiots think they would upgrade to 1070
>realise nvidia are greedy fucks $550 card for 1070
>at least the $300 1060 performs the same as lower wattage Polaris for $200

get regular ram dude its not even work it. You wont see the performance difference.

>those prices

are you from Australia or something?

>What will Nvidia do with the 1060?

whipe their tears

amazon prices feg

>founders edition

wew lad

>mfw they rename the 1060 to the 1050 because they can't compete in the midrange

>sold out

>Enjoy those extra 5 frames in 1 game that no one plays.

BF1 and DOOM will have Async compute.

>mfw they go straight to the 1060 Ti

>mfw no face

>Things I pull out of my ass: The post

Oh gee user, you mean the super limited run of the 1070 is over and I won't be able to buy it ever again because they won't make more?

Oh no

good question nvidia is prolly shitting their pants not knowing what to do with the 1060 normally it would cost $250 but it looks like it won't perform as good as the 480

RIP in piece

We already know the 1060's hardware, it has 2 GPC's, ie 1280 shaders, with a 128 bit bus.

1080 performs a bit less than double a 970 (not SLI, I mean percentage wise). So unless they run the 1060 at truly absurd stock clock rates, it ain't gonna touch a 480.

Based on that info how do u think 1060 will perform?

Somewhere slightly below a 980 for $160
It will slaughter the RX480.

I also forgot to mention that it's very efficient, I have insider info from AIBs that the 1060 will come in two flavors, one without PCIe power connectors, one with 1x6pin, the ones without will run at 70W but won't be able to overclock much, the others will run around 90W but will overclock to Titan X levels.

>nvidia
>ever undercutting AMD

Lol nope. They charge more always because they have the brand name.

The GTX 1060 will just be a rebrand of the GTX 970.

Holy shit Nvidia is gonna slaughter AMD if this is true.
Can't wait.

AMD is finished.

>how do u think 1060 will perform?
>Somewhere slightly below a 980 for $160

Nice guess, but it's all but confirmed that Nvidia will be giving at a crippled 192b bus so they can shove 6GB of RAM on it to say to normies it's better than 4GB 480/470 models.

They painted themselves in a corner when they released a $450 256b card and now need greater segmentation for lower end products.

Console exclusives will probably have some sort of async compute since AMD had those bagged in.
Let's see:
Battlefield 1
Doom
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Ashes of Singularity
Mirrors Edge Catalyst

>128 bit bus.
It's shit then.

They might get a 1060 ti to compete with the 480 though.

How long until nvidia declares bankruptcy I want to short their stock

What did this mean by this?

That most people buy video cards that cost $99-$299

That shit can get you 150$ per month on goldminer.io

I don't appreciate you pretending to be me in a reply.

I already stated it'll be around a 970.

The chip will have a 120 watt TDP, and exceed that by a good margin in actual draw. No it won't be half a 1080's power draw, it still has a similar uncore setup, even if the actual shader parts are halved.

There won't be a 75 watt version of the 1060.
