I used it a bit, it's ok, helped me decide I don't need rolling release without going for a normal arch install.

I approve it.

What do you use now?

...

For desktop waiting for Ubuntu to release with non shit drivers as upgrading to r9 390 made it unusable pretty much. So Win10 with MobaXTerm for working from home.

At work sadly using OS X.

Is good!I run it alongside several Arch installs and see no difference whatsoever.

Antergos is ANTERGOAT.

Its good
The installer crashes on certain options though

So it's shit

i have been using for 3 years now I think, not a single problem, I update whenever I remember to (can be 3-4 months without -syu) and shit never broke once

Cnchi is the only problem other than that it's my favorite distro

It's a shitty pointless distro

Antergos is just Arch for retards

It's alright.

Just use Arch you tryhard hipster

Using it right now.

Got huge hassle installing due to lightdm messing with my ati drivers, but when you fuck up shit, pacman and yaourt serve well to unfuck them.

I approve. A really good first step into the arch world, and if you fiddle with it enough, it ends up teaching you good notions for a possible jump to arch in the future.

And on top of all, if you don't do crazy shit, it doesnt break.

Ubuntu doesnt create drivers user. Use a ppa for radeon/amdgpu, or download catalyst or gpupro from amd's site.

Meaning it is not autistic enough for the SOOPER SEEKRIT KLUBHAUSE!

What is the Antergos repo used for? When you install software are you using it by default or are you using Arch's repo by default? I can't find any documentation properly explaining the purpose and content of Antergos' own repo.

Yeah. That's the only problem they have. I'm wondering why they don't just use Calamares for example, if they can't make Cnchi work all the time.

There's a decent amount of precompiled software. It takes less time to install the packages that are in the Antergos repo, because you're not compiling from source every time. That's it.

you don't compile from source every time on arch...

The stuff in Arch's official repos are compiled to though right? Is the Antergos repo a collection of compiled versions of AUR stuff?

What I'm wondering is, if I install Antergos and then install a program (let's say Firefox for example) is it coming from Arch or Antergos repo?

I don't understand the "jump into the arch world" meme.

I jumped into linux with arch because it's literally child-tier easy except for when the package maintainers forget how to into dependencies. If you can't into arch first time around you never will be able to.

And if you stick with arch for more than a couple months you're mentally retarded. I'm still glad I used it though because now I can never leave the rolling release meme.

-posted from my unstable branch but still more stable than arch gentoo laptop that is just as bleeding edge as your arch thinkpads

Arch is a binary distro. Please go away.

If Arch could have Antergos' installer nobody would use Antergos anymore

My reason to do the jump is just for learning. And because I want to.

For me it feels good when i get to customize whatever, so i'm considering the jump when i get to learn enough.

I know, but you compile from source more times than on Antergos.

I used it a lot because setting FDE in "bare" Arch is such a pain in the ass. Antergos is just Arch with a installer, so it's perfect for me.

No, only Arch.

I use antergos because I'm lazy.

'Antergos for retards' wasn't meant as an insult, rather a colloquialism for easy to use.

I tried to install it on a virtual machine.
The install software couldn't not download a file (connection dropped? A problem in their server? who knows) and it panicked so hard that you could not even retry to install it without first rebooting.
I realized that who made this distro is incompetent as fuck

Forgetting to set up networking in your VM sounds incompetent as fuck.

i prefer arch but i have Antergos on my desktop because I was afraid of wiping my porn partitions

it was not the first file so no, fuck you. It was somewhere like 70%
