I just checked with my room mates who are using Windows 10, these strange IP's with no name are showing for them as well. When we do IP lookup, they are mostly linked to Google, Facebook and advertising companies.
If you are on Windows 10, go to your task manager > performance > open resource meter > network > tcp connections
Look at the IP address and ports that are currently in use.
Charles Gutierrez
OP is right, I was getting to grips with W10 and I was contacting facebook ips for no comprehensible reason. Also amazon.
Samuel Peterson
Every news site with share button are linked to Facebook and Google+
Cameron Myers
I restarted my PC, no browser or application is running. Still these IP's are showing.
It makes no sense. How can I be connected to them when Firefox is closed.
Joshua Hall
close all programs open cmd and type >netstat -rn what's the output?
Aaron Morales
I can't post the output here for obvious reasons.
Those nameless IP's don't show up in netstat but are visible in the resource monitor TCP connections with the ports they are using.
Not sure what to make of this.
Sebastian Martin
>Win10 You chose this, cuck
Cooper Reed
Try disabling Cortana and everything in privacy settings. That might fix it.
Dominic Flores
Windows 7 and 8 have been infected with telemetry and suspicious updates to make them just as fucked as Windows 10.
What to do?
Cortana is disabled, not available in my region, disabled suggestions, disabled store removed all metro apps, only Edge browser is left. I use local account, so not logged into any apps.
Chase Jenkins
Use win7 and choose to not install those updates? Fucking duh Especially since win10 is broken and buggy regardlessl. Win7 is miles better
Zachary Miller
There's so many things you need to disable that it's not worth it. Even if you do, the fix will only be temporary. Any new update could add new ips. You have 3 choices: >Live with the fact that you're being monitored 24/7 >Install some other non windows OS >Get a firewall to block everything except chrome, firefox etc.
Jose White
>I don't trust Microsoft >but I'm going to trust another closed source operating system from them Holy shit remove yourself from the gene pool.
Tyler Howard
I tried Linux in particular Ubuntu many times since it is mainstream. It does not detect my audio and wifi devices. I posted in /sqt/ and had many anons help me with this issue. After installation when I reboot, my wifi disappears with "device not ready" message. Audio is near deaf even with Alsa mixer maxed.
There is no solution except trashing my laptop and buying a better one with Linux compatible hardware.
Hudson Wilson
Or Windows 7 with manually disabling the telemetry and win10 cuckdates. Which is super easy. It's not even the monitoring that bothers me personally, it's the fact it genuinely affects your game latency
Nathan Stewart
>What to do? Install Linux if you really care about your privacy. But keep in mind that your smartphone and every website you use are collecting usage data too. You can't escape the botnet.
Thomas Williams
Win7 with botnet disabled doesn't have any suspicious connections, just checked. There's your answer OP.
Jackson Gomez
Who said I didn't trust them I just don't like windows 10 because it affects game latency and has always broken for me in some way after months of using, on 3 different devices
Jace Wood
I guess its time to downgrade user. There goes my weekend.
Ayden Thompson
Upgrade* and weekend? It takes 2 hours tops to download/install then install loads of your other progs
Luke Gutierrez
Firewall with a whitelist works wonders.
Angel Foster
Windows 7 has over 300 updates to install. I have to block certain updates in my list. Also it takes forever for Windows update to finish.
Nathan Flores
google simplix pack
John Hill
So What Lmao This is 2min passive shit you do before you turn off the pc
Daniel Reyes
...
Justin Brooks
why now you have to post the nagisa one
Julian Clark
welp
Liam Long
>tfw OP is too tech illiterate to threat model
No Facebook here, son. If you have Chrome installed you will have frequent connections for update checks.
Owen Flores
Akamai Technologies would be the real ones to look out for. Literally the real-life EvilCorp that nobody aknowledges.
Camden Young
Explain
John White
Big evil CDN network baked into a great number of major commercial softwares. They see you everywhere and serve you everywhere. I would add cloudflare to the list.
Sebastian Carter
Look them up. They mitm nearly everything.
Nicholas Murphy
>cloudflare Indeed.
Brody Moore
What laptop do you use? Did you try several distro's and have the same problem with them?
Christian Gutierrez
um yeah lol, Windows spies on you, did you not care to read the privacy policy or EULA? You signed up for this therefore they have every right to do this to you. This is why most of Sup Forums uses GNU/Linux lmao
Luis Bailey
You should be able to see which programs are making connections.
I don't use Windows 10, but I somehow doubt any of Windows services would make connections to Facebook or Google servers.
Liam Butler
It's because you're being tracked out the ass by Windows 10.
Why people use this abomination of an operating system I shall never know.
Eli Parker

Is not that with smartphones now thanks to Replicant, an android alternative. Their team found a backdoor in Samsung Galaxy phones so they are legit.
Evan Rodriguez
>I somehow doubt any of Windows services would make connections to Facebook or Google servers. I want to be this naive again. I hate this surveilance state.
Dylan Collins
>Win10 is borken and buggy No it isnt, it is very stable. Win8 and on up to 10 are really just improvements on the Win7 base. Other than the alleged botnet stuff, 10 is just a better version of 7, no real reason not to use it.
Grayson Sullivan
DELETE THIS!
Jackson Watson
Fresh out of the box.
Time to sell my soul. :^)
Aaron Garcia
If you wish to stay on Windows due to hardware/games then reinstall Win7x64.
Install GWX control panel right after that's complete.
