Wasted Space*

...

...

Wew, that must be a powerful machine.

gotta admit, that's pretty impressive.

kek

It's officially disposable now.

Where is the SSD?

I wish I had a 15" laptop of conventional thickness (like, 3/4") that had the same percentage-by-volume of battery as this thing. why couldn't we have kept the size the same and used the miniaturization of the guts to expand the amount of battery instead of to make the thing smaller and thinner?

The size is proportional to the performance tho

>laptops are gradually becoming tablets with x86 processors and larger batteries and a build in keyboard
PC laptop makers are already starting to copy this Macbook design, so is this trend going to continue until we're left with ultra thin Facebook machines and bulky gaymen laptops?

youtube.com/watch?v=01uN4MCsrCE

probably, since gamers are the only significant computer market that demands more performance than a macbook gives.

Laptops will be a mix of Chromebooks and Macbooks in the future. Yes, looks like memewares and thinkmemes will be our only hope.

Other side, fixed on the board.

That space is filled with battery you fucking retard.

...

...

where are the ports and fan

>still gets only 7 hours battery life

Why is OSX such a colossal pile of shit at battery management?

>mfw I own this thing and love it

Best $750 I ever spent. Thanks craigslist.

This thing is a fucking beaut. I want one so bad but I can't justify it for $1300.

It's fanless.

Admittedly the battery design is very cool. At least they are taking full advantage of the horrible everything soldered in design

Not perfect but impressive

>Fanless architecture

>MacBook is the first Mac notebook ever without a fan. Since the Intel Core M chips draw only 5 watts of power and therefore generate less heat, no fan or heat pipe is required. Instead, the logic board is seated on top of an anisotropic graphite sheet, which helps disperse any heat that is generated out to the sides, all while your Mac stays virtually silent. MacBook is made even more efficient by OS X features like Timer Coalescing, App Nap, and Safari Power Saver, which ensure that every task is performed using just the right amount of power. No more, no less.

>where are the ports

...

>all that advanced technology
>all those layered/stacked batteries
>my 7 year old Dell Latitude E6400 with a processor 5 generations behind can run for close to 20 hours with the 9-cell + 12-cell extended
>all of it cost me like $160
>better battery life than the MacBook, better performance, better everything

People want thin shit and that's fine, I prefer something actually useful myself.

Oh, and I run OSX in a VM anyway too just to spite Apple, fuck 'em.

HATERS GONNA HATE

Worse screen
Worse trackpad
Worse storage performance
Worse build quality
Worse support

>Oh, and I run OSX in a VM anyway too just to spite Apple, fuck 'em.

And no, you don't do this.

>I run OSX in a VM anyway too just to spite Apple
OS X is free anyway. They don't give a shit.

...

But does it come in Rose Gold™?

...

What are the chances of this thing getting updated at Apple's next hardware event? Zero?

am i getting mocked wtf

Poo in the fucking loo Rajeesh.

>Worse screen
Your opinion and thus irrelevant.

>Worse trackpad
Your opinion and thus irrelevant.

>Worse storage performance
Your opinion and thus irrelevant.

>Worse build quality
Magnesium chassis, lighter and stronger than aluminum, and thus very relevant.

>Worse support
I still have 132 days left on the CompleteCare warranty I extended after the original 5 year duration ran out. I could throw it off my balcony into traffic right now and call Dell (at 1:15AM) and have a replacement here by Monday at 5PM delivered to my door. If I had a regular old problem with it they'd send someone to my apartment to fix it on site.

Does any level of Apple Care (which you pay for on top of the purchase price - my CompleteCare came with the purchase price originally) provide for actual on site support or do you have to take it to an Apple Store where they can't do shit and ship it off back to Cupertino for an actual repair?

Thought so.

Oh, and yep, yep I do run OSX in a VM without any issues. Pic very relevant.

OS X is not free software. It's proprietary, non-free software that they only license you to use on Apple hardware.

>worse screen
>your opinion

Nigga, you obviously haven't used a new Macbook. Hate on them all you want but their screens are incredible. So are their trackpads... actually, your opinion is just shit.

None of those are opinions

That's like saying faster downloads aren't better because that's an opinion

2 rupees have b een deposited in your shit wiping hands Pajeet.

The epitomization of how slowly our battery technology is advancing compared to everything else.

why dont you throw it off your balcony and have it replaced with a new one? it must be worn out after 7 years.

...

The technology is irrelevant if it can't be used to do the things you actually need to get done, which is where the MacBook we're discussing comes into play. It's slower, weaker, has worse battery life, the screen is irrelevant overall (sure it has a higher resolution but really, is that your defining trait for "better"?) because it's so fucking small diagonally, I don't use a trackpad because the mouse I own is vastly superior in every respect (that's a fact, Jack), and I can do more with the Latitude for longer periods of time including running OSX without problems.

What's best for you ain't best for me, and the MacBook certainly isn't the best for everyone, not fucking even.

And at that kind of price? For worse performance and battery life? $1299 vs $160?

I mean really, kids, try harder next time will you.

...

>mom i shat in the street again

This is THE most delusional post I have EVER read.

>better for anons use case, cheaper too
>delusional

icucks, couldnt be less self aware

fuck of pajeet indians are windows master race

>wasted space

>is really opposite of wasted space

fuck you man and fuck every retard on Sup Forums not knowing anything about anything

lol

And I thought sour grapes only apply to appleltards

that's called a macbook?

macbooks aren't that thick

it sounds like he wants a T500 with a macbook motherboard and the rest of the case filled with even more battery. 48-hour battery life would indeed be nice

Stupid shitpad user

Thats actually better than any Windows laptop I can think of

A $199 idepad 100s gets 11 hours iirc

>buying a $1300 computer which you can never service

no standard USB ports, no HDMI/VGA output(enjoy buying and hauling around adapters, faggots), no replaceable SSD/ram

I've dealt with 100s of Dell e4300s at work. I know e4300s.

You are NOT doing ANY of that shit with a 4300

That might as well just be an iPhone

My 4 year old m14x r2 gets almost 10 hours of use.

He said 6400...

And you are basing this on what? Your source is wrong.

My vaio gets 12-13 hours.

Actually, OS X is as free as (google's) android.

You're right. Fucked up my model numbers. Point stands I meant 6400

>rich/stupid people's netbook

where is rs232

youtube.com/watch?v=KnapaZYD2cU
getting really mad
wtf

this one was recent well memed my jared loving click farmer

Shitposting from one now and I can confirm. It's otherwise a pile of dogshit but for $138 open box I can't complain.

>it's still a 3-dimensional object

NOT THIN ENOUGH

which is also why it's clocked at 1.1ghz

Is there a problem?

So this... is the power... of the Mac...

australians can't use it because they produce more than shitposts per second than it can handle.

>Apple Augmented Reality headset
>Transmits image of 2D MacBook and iPhone in your hand

They could just sell a png of an apple computer

The Apple.PNG
~2399.99$~

if perfection is an X86 throttling ipad with a keyboard, I guess senpai

I love the sample workspace in that picture
As if even Apple doesn't expect you to buy this unit for anything besides a hipster accessory for your tea party

went through this thread just to make sure this video was posted somewhere

are there usually ports and fans on an ipad?

Is this mac like a 1200$ raspberry pi then? Lol that's just sad.

>Is this mac like a 1200$ raspberry pi then?
The specs, performance, and formfactor speak for themselves

It's an ipad with a keyboard on OSX, hardly worth its MSRP (unless you're factoring in the intangible value of conversation starters at your local obscure dimly lit coffee shop)

6 loos deposited in your poo, Rajeesh.

what screams "hipster accessory" about it? they're laying out what looks like a magazine article and talking with a friend about the project. it's more work than I've seen done in any desktop thread, which usually features a terminal windows full of specs, a browser window open to Sup Forums, and anime.

my t450s goes up to 13 hours, what are you even talking about retard

Nah perfection would be a laptop as modular as the non rMBP with a retina display and a 17 in option and updated internals and finally fucking updating opengl you pieces of shit.

You do realize that the CPU of your seven year old shit machine is less than half as fast as the Core M inside the Macbook? I mean, sure, it's not the fastest CPU on this planet, but it's not that shitty. It's actually an absolutely unbelievable piece of hardware considering it draws only five fucking watts.

honestly though this is a good idea if it wasn't for the Apple tax

If it takes Apple to introduce the concept of bundling a good screen and plenty of battery, I'm all for it

It's pretty well understood by now that companies like Gookovo won't take any new design steps or be a market leader in any way

Wish the RZ5 was affordable, perfect ultraportable

>0.8

My dell XPS can get 7 to 12 depending on use
