If you don't use Google services, yes. Regardless of your stance on privacy it's a win/win situation if you don't plan on using Google's crap.

Then I would suggest going GAPPS free. Cyanogenmod is an easy way to accomplish that. It's what I do. It frees up a ton of space for other things and has the benefit of using less bandwidth from your data plan because the OS isn't calling back to Google every 3 minutes. Obviously this helps with battery life too.
