Android phone lag

How do you deal with your smartphone taking 5+ seconds to open your phone contacts list after having used it for a year.
There must be a way to fix this other than factory resetting or getting a new phone.

try not having a phone with an antiquated chipset? shit works fine on my $160 chinkphone with a snapdragon 650

Check your task manager otherwise just reset the phone. Maybe buy a better one if you didn't get a higher end unit

3] Delete apps you never use

5] Close all open apps and restart phone

Honestly, I used to think that all Android phones suffer lag and that you can do nothing about it. Then I decided to go full minimal and install minimal roms with pico gapps.

So what this tells me it's that too many apps are bloating and causing lag.

Have you had it for >1year?

Never happened to me. Then again, I don't use it for very much.

1st gen moto g was okay back in 2013 but times have changed. Now with more bloat and ands in apps and web pages, 1GB of RAM simply doesn't cut it anymore.

Apps and web pages have literally become bloated all 1GB RAM android phones and iPhones will lag if you open more than 3 of them at a time.

it takes one second on my one year old m8. it could probably be faster if I disabled animations. I will admit, though, that I seem to have won the HTshit lottery since our of three people who own m8s I'm my friend group, I'm the only one why still has it working like the day I bought it. the other two had issues with heat, charging, battery drain, etc.

I have used that phone with touchjizz(not rooted) for a year because I didn't want to void its warranty. I didn't experience any lag even with touchjizz.

Also I have never said that I have been installing ROMs on a regular basis since I bought my phone you moron.

Lag is just part of the Android experience.

When you're ready to upgrade to a usable phone, get an iPhone.

Original moto Sup Forums here, for browsing, emulation, shit pointing, and casting, this phone handles those no problem, but once I need to use maps, and pairing it with must playing, it's a nightmare ;(((

Maybe because I store more than a couple of photos on my phone? I also need usb otg. Also a $500+ device lacking features that are considered trivial for even Windows CE isn't acceptable in any way.

Wakelock will cause battery drain, but has sped up my note 4 considerably. AFAIK, there should be a specific preset "intensity" that should work best for your phone. App called Keep Running is useful too pair with it.

Photos app to browse photos. Can make it easier to find photos by choosing from many options e.g. years and months, and can also use things like facial recognition. Enjoy scrolling through your file manager though, lol.

Comprehending what you read isn't that hard, user. I use the stock gallery for photos whereas I use a file manager for other sorts of files.
